Cookeville is mid way (approx) between Knoxville and Nashville. Maxpedition Hard Use Nylon Gear

Just a thought, but wouldn't a soap container work well for a mini cache? You know the type that overlaps? Just a thought. Maxpedition Hard Use Nylon Gear

I backpack regularly in the Smokys. The bears there have become fairly habituated to humans. This is a bad thing. Frankly, as miniscule as the chances are of me getting attacked in the deep forest while packing, I'm still carrying something to at least TRY to defend my life. Pepper or gunpowder, I don't care. And ya I know that gunpowder is illegal in the Natl Parks. I wonder if someone might make a "pop" gun for scaring off an attack. Something like a flashbang maybe. Now wouldn't that be interesting. You know you are in very deep dood dood, if one of those don't run off a bear. Oh and good thread! Maxpedition Hard Use Nylon Gear

Bilder, thanks for the comments. I look forward to your evaluation. I need one more person willing to do a review. As stated in another thread I will give a 25% discount if someone is willing to evaluate some of this gear. Thanks for reading. Maxpedition Hard Use Nylon Gear -
No, no cracks as of yet. But if I hold the chasis so the reflection of light is seen I can see where it is molded. Probably a short fill in that area and an oversized screw stacked up to caus problems. Maxpedition Hard Use Nylon Gear
-
I retorqued or backed out the screws about .25 of a turn. I can see where they would have problems. The molding shows a thin spot real faintly where the cracks occur. I hope the loosening prevents the cracking. I depend on my GPS when I'm backpacking and I don't want to have it go south on me deep in the woods. Ya, Ya, I also have the compass and map as well, that is what I cut my teeth on. Maxpedition Hard Use Nylon Gear

Is there an East Tennessee GEOCache Club/Association?
TNRonin replied to paintrockcache's topic in South and Southeast
I posted something on the MTGC about a chapter in east TN. I'm in Cookeville, and I am interested in something on the Plateau if possible. Maxpedition Hard Use Nylon Gear -
I just got mine, I guess I'll need to retorque the screws. I'll bet you dollars to donuts they are using an air driver and they are getting spikes in the levels. Edited to add: It also might be oversized screws. Maxpedition Hard Use Nylon Gear

I dunno if you have gone here yet or not. But is NMEA turned off? That has some bearing on it. HTH. Maxpedition Hard Use Nylon Gear

And FWIW, I spent the money and got an ad on Geocaching. Just so you know I'm not into ripping off the bandwidth of our hosts. That was a big lick, and I'm trying to operate this on a shoe string. I hope it works out. Any help one can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Maxpedition Hard Use Nylon Gear
