    I received a letter on friday... a surprise letter from my friend DrNeal! inside there was his amazing new coin, Kathy's Coin Too - Heaven's The Place Geocoin, in nickel, its proxy (WOW!! very cool!!!!) and an adorable wooden nickel!!!

     

    my dear friend thank you so much for honoring me with this amazing coin!! I will treasure it in my collection knowing that it is a very special one... :)

    huh.... extremelly difficult to answer... what to save? the first coin I ever had and from that I started beeing a collector? my best coin (I am not talking about geocoins but for real coins...) and the first good one I ever bought.. and I had to sacrifise my pocket money I was going to get.. for the whole year? an item that is in my family for generations? the photos of the ones I have lost.. like my grandparents... or photos of past loves... and girlfriends?

     

    all are materials that can be found again... no matter if they cost a lot... or they have sentimental values! even the photos can be found from relatives... even if my grand parents (at least the ones that were alive when I was born)will always be in my heart and mind!

     

    I admit that since I am not married...and both of my parents live... I can speak like that... otherwise... my marriage photo would had been my treasure... or if my parents were... gone... the photo of my parents..would be a treasure too! see.. it is difficult but....

     

    anyway...to lose the house I am living is a huge disaster.... my parents spent a life to get this house... but since all my family and my pets will be safe... we can start over again! it is not important how many times you fell down.... what is important is how many times you stand up again!

     

    since I live in a flat...a fire would not destroy my house but my neighbors too!!! so I believe that the best thing to do is... since I have the time to enter in my house to get a thing... to sacrifise this time to try and save my neighbour... if he is at home... and... no matter if we are not best friends and had problems etc! if you can save something... save an other life!

     

    as I said.. everything can be fixed again... everything can be replaced except a life... or a pet or a human!

     

    I do not know if this is actually a good post for the cointest... as you are asking about a material to save... but...

    Geocoin envelope arrived - coin itself removed

    if the coin was in the envelope.. just like that.. and not attached and closed to a cardboard.. or something... so it will not go up and down in the envelope that would tear it... then...

     

    also.. if it was nto hidden... or it was not in a bubble mailer... and anyone could see that a coin was inside... probably someone teared the envelope and took it!

     

    of course.. in both.. the seller will let you know.. but 99.9% of them.. know how to send such things...

     

    customs have the right to open the letter and check it.. but then they are closing it again with special tape that the "Customs" is writen on it.. and also they stamp the letter with their stamp! at least this is what onse happent to a letter I had! if I remember well.. it was writen on it that customs checked it! if your letter doesn't have any of the ones I mentioned about customs... then customs didn't open it!

     

    unfortunatelly.. sometimes letters are not treated very well.. in the post offices of by the postmen... so... sometimes we have situations like that!

     

    during Christmas a card was sent to me.. from a friend! I received it many day after.. but it you had seen it.... :( the envelope was teared and in pieces! it was ruined with rain or generally water.. and dried again! the card inside was in bad condition... and the envelope (used to be white!), plus the card.. (mostly white too!), had a strange red colour... taken from an other envelope... (no idea where the other poor one was going...)

    I do not have an idea if something was inside the card.. I didn't want to ask the person who send it... I thought it was not polite...

     

    anyway... it is not often.. but sometimes.. they do not treat the letters well.... it is very sad that you have lost the coin.. :( unfortunatelly.. I do not know if you can do something about it.... maybe the seller can replace it.. but if it was send in a normal letter and not registered or secured... I do not know...

    αυτο πρεπει να ειναι οταν πας πανω ακριβως στο κουτακι της κρυπτης... στον χαρτη που πατας και προβαλει το ονομα της κρυπτης κτλ....

     

    γενικα εχω παρατηρησει λαθη στα αγγλικα τους! αν σκεφτεις οτι η ματαφραση αγγλικων σε αγγλικα δεν εχει ολοκληρωθει! μαλλον αυτο χρησιμευει για κατι τετοιο... να διορθωσει τα δικα τους λαθη!... να δεις να λειπουν πραγματα αρθρα, λαθη συντακτικα.. τι να πεις...

     

    παλι εβαλαν νεες μεταφρασεις.. εκανα καποιες.. πωπω...

    wow I have done some in the last week and some big ones today! mostly help in collecting coins etc... you see.. some guys are unbelievable and many coins are now beeing forged... (some are really goof fakes!!!) and...

    Μιμη μου... πριν λιγες μερες ειχε παλι μια στιβα.. ειχα παει στις 87 και βλεπω 113.... τις παω 85 και ξαναβλεπω παλι 113.. τις παω 100 πανε λιγο παραπανω.. και τις στρογγυλεψα στις 100 παλι... με τις νεες... εκανα αρκετες.. τωρα εμειναν 125... κι εχει ακομα παρα πολλα!!!! φαντασου... ξεπερασα τις 18000.... στα ποσα να παω για σερβις;; χαχαχαχαχαχα

     

    huh... και οσο βλεπω οτι δεν ξερουμε που πανε ακριβως και τι γινεται... αν θα ταιριαζουνε τα φυλλα... πωπω.... χαχαχαχαχα

    φτιαχτηκαν και τα του προφιλ! :)

     

    το μονο που δεν εχω αλλαξει ειναι το κενο στην αρχικη σελιδα.. στο Γεια σας...

     

    οντως θα ηταν καλο.. αλλα δεν το βλεπω να το κανουν Παναγιωτη με τα ελληνικα... απο οτι καταλαβα.. προσπαθουν να διατηρησουν τα αγγλικα σε αυτα.. γιανα τα καταλαβαινουν ολοι... θα μου πεις... οι γερμανοι, ολλανδοι κτλ.. πως γραφουν;; ισως γιατι ειναι στα λατινικα... αλλα δεν νομιζω καποιος αραβας ή κινεζος, Ιαπωνας, καμποτζιανος κτλ.. να γραψει ποτε στην γλωσσα του! και φυσικα αυτο... δεν ειναι και το καλυτερο δυνατον για την διαδοση του παιχνιδιου σε τετοιες χωρες που δεν χρησιμοποιουν το λατινικο αλφαβητο...

     

    εδω δεν αλλαζουν το greece! δεν αλλαξαν τους μηνες και τις μερες... και παραμενουν αγγλικα.. ενω σπαω το κεφαλι μου οτι τα εχω μεταφρασει!

     

    α... υπαρχουν κι αλλα μικροπραγματα που εχουμε ηδη αλλαξει... και βλεπουμε...σε 14 μερες..

    μολις εφτιαξα τα της αρχικης σελιδας! δυστυχως.. το username ειναι σε λινκ.. και εχει κενο... δεν ξερω αν μπορουμε να βαλουμε κι αλλο...

     

    για το θυσαυροθηρες... δυστυχως εκει η λεξη δεν ειναι geocachers αλλα επεξηγηματικη του παιχνιδιου.... και τους ονομαζει treasure hunters.... οποτε δεν μπορουμε να κανουμε κατι... εχει πολλες αμερικανιες τετοιες.. και πολλες που απλα τις αλλαξαμε ή τις κοψαμε...καποια δεν μεταφραζονταν με τιποτα!

     

    τωρα θα παω στο προφιλ...

     

    για το 3) παντως.... εχεις δικιο... αλλα δεν ειναι δικο μας αυτο! καναμε νυξη για το θεμα... γιατι το εγραψαν οι ιδιοι με κεφαλαια.. μαλλον πρεπει να γινεται κατι με το προγραμμα που εχουν... γιατι ειχα αντιμετοπισει προβλημα παρομοιο στο excel! μονο του μου εβγαζε τονους σε λεξεις με κεφαλαια! υπαρχουν και σε αλλες λεξεις με κεφαλαια... τελικα η υπευθυνη μας ειπε οτι αν ειναι θα τα βραψουν με μικρα γραμματα... γιατι δεν μπορει να γινει διαφορετικα...

    ευχαριστουμε παιδια! καναμε οτι μπορουσαμε.. ηταν και εξακολουθει να ειναι πολυ δυσκολο... μιας και απλα μας εδιναν ειτε μια λεξη.. ή μια προταση και σπανια μια παραγραφο... χωρις να ξερουμε καν που ακριβως πανε! την ενωση την εκαναν αυτοι... οποτε...

     

    Γρηγορη μου. δεν ξερω πως δουλευε με το facebook... αλλα εδω γινονταν συνεχεια αλλαγες! σε καποια.. ουτε και οι ιδιοι δεν ηξεραν τι θα γινει σε καποια πραγματα! ετσι να βλεπεις να κανουμε καμια 800 μεταφρασεις.. και μετα να τους ερχεται να αλλαξουν κατι μηδαμηνο... να τα τραβανε ολα πισω... και μετα αντι να τα εχουν σωσει... να πρεπει να τα ξανακανουμε!!! τους ερχετε μια ιδιεα.. την βαζουν. μετα μετανιωνουν... τα βγαζουν μετα κατι αλλο... αστα... στο facebook δεν νομιζω να ειχε κατι τετοιο.. σκεψου με τις προκλησεις.. (challenges) ποσα καναμε και ποσα πηγαν αχρηστα...

    υπηρχαν στιγμες που.. το να τα παρατησουμε ηταν πιστευω στην σκεψη μας...

     

    σαν παραδειγμα θα σου δωσω το εξεις... τα string των μεταφρασεων ειναι αυτη ατην στιγμη... 7204. απο αυτα εχουν γινει τα 7105. ξερεις ποσες μεταφρασεις και αλλαγες κτλ.. εχω κανει μεχρι στιγμης;;; 17730 !!!! καποια στιγμη ημουν στην πρωτη θεση μετα επεσα στην 5η και τωρα ειμαι στην δευτερη...

     

    και υπαρχουν απο οτι ειδα... παρα πολλα ακομα για μεταφρασεις!!! χαμος! παλι καλα που 2 ατομα καταφεραμε να το φερουμε εις περας... μιλαμε οτι ειμαστε απο τις μικροτερες ομαδες!! βουλγαρια και κινα εχουν μονο απο 1 αλλα δεν ξερω αν εχουν καν ξεκινησει... ενω ελλαδα, λετονια και σλοβακια εχουν απο 2 μεταφραστες! Ελλαδα και Λετονια ειναι οι μονοι μικροι που εχουν καταφερει να δουν την γλωσσα τους μεχρι στιγμης!

    αλλες ομαδες εχουν παραπανω ατομα... με το ρεκορ να το εχουν οι Γερμανοι με 21 μεταφραστες!! εχω την εντυπωση οτι οι γερμανοι μεταφραστες ειναι περισσοτεροι απο τους ελληνες geocacher! χαχαχαχαχα παντως ειναι δουλεια που χρειαζονται πολλα ατομα...

     

    εκτος αυτου... οι γλωσσες ειναι πολλες.... καθε λιγους μηνες οι υπευθυνοι της Groundspeak βγαζουν 2-3 γλωσσες.. τωρα ηρθε η σειρα της ελλαδας...

     

    και τωρα που ειδα την λιστα με τους μεταφραστες και τις γλωσσες.... ρε Μιμη..οι μεταφρασεις απο τα αγγλικα στα... αγγλικα ακομα δεν νομιζω νε εχουν τελειωσει.. αλλα γιατι τις κανουν;;; χαχαχαχα λες να ειναι γιατι καποια απο τα αγγλικα τους ειναι αμερικανιες ή λαθος; εκτος κι αν δουμε 2 version αγγλικων καποια στιγμη... βρετανικα αγγλικα και αμερικανικα αγγλικα (υπαρχουν μικροδιαφορες...αν τα προσεξεις..)

    Παναγιωτη μου γεια σου! μπορεις αν θελεις και να σε κανουμε εθελοντη μεταφραστη! :) οποτε εχεις καιρο.. κτλ.. :)

     

    οντως ειχει πολλα λαθη μιας και εχουμε πολυ πλουσια γλωσσα.. ειδικα σε σχεση με τις αλλες που υπαρχουν τωρα... οποτε... πολλα δεν μας βοηθουσαν... πσοσ μαλλον οταν μας πετουσαν ξεκαρφωτα πραγματα που μετα οι ιδιοι ενωναν... ενω εμεις δεν ξεραμε ουτε σε ποιον απευθυνοταν, ουτε που πηγαινε... αστα να πανε δηλαδη!

     

    καποια τα αλλαξαμε.. κι εγω και ο Μιμης περισσοτερο... μιας και ειδαμε κατι που ηθελε αλλαγη και πηγα στις μεταφρασεις να αλλαξω ολα τα λινκ...

     

    σιγα σιγα... θα το φτιαξουμε... οπως μπορουμε.. μιας και καποια.. δυστυχως δεν μπορουν στα κεντρικα να τα καταλαβουν... δοξα το Θεο καιρο εχουμε... απλα καναμε την αρχη... και απο οτι ειδα... υπαρχουν παρα πολλα ακομα για να μεταφραστουν.... οποτε... εχει ακομα γλεντι.... χαχαχαχα

    If I remember well.. I won the first one too! I am feeling lucky! :D

     

    thank you so much for the cointest! it is a great feeling helping others.. no matter it is a small or a big help... for the other it really means a lot! of course.. most of my help was in the net.. helping many collectors.. by giving advises, giving them info about what they have.. etc.. and helping them with prices... unfortunatelly in the coin and banknote collections... many do not know values etc.. and they pay a lot of money for things that are veyr cheap.. or they sell items in low prices.. except that.. newer collectors must avoid the fake coins from china... that are getting better and better..

     

    of course I had some good RAOK in the real world.. :) some were not so easy... in one I got injured but.. not something serious.. I admit that sometimes people see you strangelly and are suspicious when they see a guy who do not know... helping them just like that! I understand this... in the times we live... one woman wanted to give me a euro.... hahahahaha she thought.... hahahahaha I didn't accept it of course!

     

    about the coin I was helping a friend... I didn't find the coin in the catalogues... and I was sad.. but I finally managed to identify it!!! it is not a coin but a coin weight!!! WOW!! not bad at all!!!

     

    I like helping others if I can.. so I do this.. almost every day... hahahaha

     

    About the price coin now... to be honest.. I was not even remembering what coins were and I had to go to the first post to see....

     

    I do not know the coins... I know your coin as design.. and it is lovely but I do not know the 2 tone version... is it the gold one or a new version? I like your coin a lot!!

     

    I do not know the other coin too... is it the one that is like the tranquility? Hmm...the version you mentioned as a price.. is unknown to me.. but it sounds quite nice!! Blue on Rhodium??? and I am from Rhodes? and blue is my colour?? hahahahaha

     

    Oh boy... what to choose!!! this is difficult!! Well.. it is up to you! :) what ever you send me I will be extremelly happy my friend! :)

     

    and never forget.. the main present is the smiles and thanks we take from others for the RAOK we do! :) this is priceless! :)

    Done today again and received 2 too!! WOW! :D

     

    Oh SgtMikal my friend.. here things are the same.. as bad they were.. with the crisis... people can not stand paying taxes etc all the time.. it is craze when all monthly payments and pensions are getting lower but taxes and market prices in anything are getting higher! imagine.. people can not pay for heating petrol.. so they made fireplaces etc.. to burn wood.. by that.. athens for example has a big cloud from the smoke of the fireplaces and the heating machines that burn wood... and this cloud is not the healthiest thing... it is a mess.. we will see how things will go this year...

    90% of the help we took now.. in money... from IMF and EU.. will go to the banks and not to the market... so day by day... more shops are closing and more people are left jobless...

     

    we had more than 3000 suicides in the last 2 years.. and I am not counting the ones that were stoped in the last minute.. and none died.. can you imagine? we have more deaths than a war! huh...

     

    many that could.. left the country to go work and live in other countries.. in Germany, belgium, Australia.. for the rest of us.. we have to hold on.. and try to survive..

     

    politicians.. hmmm... let's see how many will end up in jail... as day by day we are finding out that they were stealing money... they were taking money underthe table... so.. you can imagine how greece end up like that... it is not true what they are saying about us that we are lazy... we work more hours and we get less money than anyone in EU.. but... now if we take 500 or 600 euros per month.. we are extremelly happy! even if.. to go and drink a coffe will cost you 3-4 euros...

     

    but.. as long we can do it.. we keep smiling we look stright and we hope that better days will come... ;)

    φυσικα... θα κανουμε εναν ελεγχο.. αλλα αν κι εχεις οταν θα δειτε τις μεταφρασεις... ελπιζουμε να βοηθησετε.. αν βρειτε κατι που θελει αλλαγη ή δεν ειναι σωστα γραμμενο...

     

    δυστυχως.. με το να μεταφραζεις μερικες φορες μια λεξη μονο... δεν μπορεις να ξερεις που ακριβως παει... και μπορει εκει που παει να αλλαζει η λεξη...

     

    επισεις.. καποια εμειναν στα αγλικα... γιατι απλα δεν μπορουν να μεταφραστουν (πχ.. pocket queries) ή δεν επιτρεπεται να μεταφραστουν... (px travel bug, werιgo, CITO, κτλ..)
