Verizon locks the GPS on the their branded phones. I'm assuming this will not get around this lock?

I couldn't wait for the price drop so I ordered one from gpsdiscount. They claim to have the fastest shipping and if Fedex is to belived it will be here on Monday.

Amazon went back upto $460. So it is no longer a great deal gpsdiscount.com has it for $407 with free shipping and store.yahoo.com/compwestusa/ has it for $398 but no rebate listed on the website. Offroute has them for $420 +6 sh but geocaching gets 5-20% back from each sale. So I might suck up the extra cost and help out the website.

I have always wanted a GPS unit, for short 1-4 day hikes and driving. I get lost a lot, mainly in cites. From reading several of the posts and doing a lot of internet research I have settled on the, Garmin GPS V Deluxe . I’ve found that they are running about $410 - $75 mirb. There are several used on ebay. However I have not been able to find a lot of information oh how the unlock codes for the maps work. I understand that I will be able to unlock all the maps if I buy one new, but what about a used one? Would it be better to get one new? If so from where? I am very excited about geocaching, I’ve already found that there are several caches in places I go all the time but I didn’t know what was right before my eyes..
