I still have several of my Red Cross Coins to sell. I am not making any money for my local Red Cross Chapter (midland Empire) if I am not selling these. So I am having a Christmas Sale. $7.99 and $1.60 shipping to United States. $2.50 Canada and $3.50 to International. Set of all three finishes (Black Nickel, gold, and copper) for $25.00 with $3.50 shipping US. These are new this year with a 2 inch size and a transluscent Red cross that is like a suncatcher from either side. Very nice coins with a very nice purpose. At this price I am only making enough money to give to my local chapter. So get them now so I can mail them out so you get them for Christmas and make several folks happy this year. I hope I can post photos. Let me know at packerbacker31@hotmail.com I use paypal. Tell me which finish. thanks

thanks tony for clearing all that up. I look forward to having you make me coins in the future as the 100 year anniversary coins of the Boy Scouts were awesome. I saw the letter from your council and it is good enough for me. thanks again!
To all concerned. YES, these coins are approved by our local council, we have correspondence to verify it. We are affiliated with a local troop and donate coins and money for their fund raising purposes. I am the owner of Strike Zone, Inc., and have no reason to jeopardize our companies good standing with an unauthorized item. We have been in the licensing/custom business for over 25 years and jump though as many hoops as necessary to certify our products. The BSA coin has our web site on it. It would not make sense to do that if we had something to hide. We are open to discuss by phone or e-mail with anyone who feels the need to follow up further. Best to all ... I meant to do this earlier but I have been busy retooling my geocoin fantasy baseball team for a post-season run. I have run several fantasy football leagues in the past and am looking forward to adding a geocoin flair to mine this year.
We will use ESPN.com since they don't charge for services that many other sites do. The league is open to the first 12 teams that send me a message through my GEOCACHING PROFILE. Once I receive your email address I will send you a link to join the league. The draft will occur on September 7th. You can be online to draft your team or ESPN will draft it for you.
The rules will be fairly common in terms of scoring, but you must ante up 1 geocoin to activate your team. You must send in your geocoin prior to the start of the season. I will maintain a list so everyone can see what has been sent in and verify what I have received from each team. I do this at the beginning of the season because there are always 2-3 teams who stop "playing" midway through the season and they never send in their coin to the winner. This way, everyone has a vested interest and I will randomly distribute the coins after the season concludes.
First place wins 8 coins. Second place wins 4 coins. In addition, I will give away coins from my personal collection for leaders in mystery statistical categories throughout the season (at least 3 times).
Please contact me if you have any questions.

It sounds like someone should just email the BSA directly. There have been a few licensed BSA geocoins, so pull out the contact email, forward them this thread, and see where it stands. If the question is not being answered, ask someone up the ladder.
TMA
In an email 'mo pirate' indicated he didn;t have permission but he thought SrikeForce did:
...StrikeZone has done lots of commemorative coins and other merchandise for a variety of folks from NHL to a popular beer co, to many other national folks so I believe he has this authorization.
MO Pirate
The BSA is very strick on its licensing. Not easy to get permission and reselling the product is a no no. For example I produced a coin thru coinsandpins and they were able to sell but I was not.
I am asking 'mo pirate' to figure this out before I get the BSA invovled.
Mike
I got a response from Tony at StrikeZone who said it was done with a local scout troop as part of a fundraiser. So I am not sure what is going on. I will wait and see what shakes out as I don't have them yet anyway. Maybe I will never get them. What a shame as it is a really nice looking coin set. 100 of each were to be made so it is LE. I will wait and see if it gets all cleared up.

I have two 2 inch coins. Pony Express Sesquicentennial is a 2" oval and the American Red Cross is a 2" x 1" rectangular. Email me if you are interested in either or both.

Is there no way to ship these nice coins to Europe??
yes I will ship to Europe for $5 per coin. or $9 for set of 3. shipping cost.

I don't think I would buy a coin that has a misspelling on it even if it will send you to the real geocaching page. I understand a mint error but this is a design error.
I guess geocaching/Groundspeak just missed it too. When asked if they wanted to pay for the new die, I guess they said it might sell better the way it is much the same as mony coins that are double struck or have an error. Anyhow a Limited Edition of 100 each were made this way so if you want it this way get them now or you can wait and see if he does another run. It is nice that it goes to the same place- the geocaching website.
-
Couple observations that need to be said......
1. How did the spelling of Geocaching get past Groundspeak?
2. I hope the numbering, if approved by GS, is better than the displayed model as every second finder will be asking how to log this coin.
3. Can i assume the end product doesn't come with the extra website advertising?
mm
Not sure how it got past Groundspeak but it was approved and did not get caught until later. Their reply was the websites both go to the official site. Sorry but it seems like more than one person did not see it!

I am so glad we have observant folks out there. I am checking with the manufacturer now. I see all other coin artwork was geocaching.com so I think I just had an early artwork copy. And yes the geocaching codes will be like the usual codes except the start will be SZ on all coins manufactured by StrikeZone. That is similar to other companies. StrikeZone has done lots of commemorative coins and other merchandise for a variety of folks from NHL to a popular beer co, to many other national folks so I believe he has this authorization.
No I would not want an error coin either so I will make sure they are correct before I sell any. Thanks to everyones concerns, I will keep you posted.
YES I will ship these coins to Canada for $1 more per coin or $2 more per coin to most Europe. So $4 per coin to Canada or $5 per coin to most of Europe. thanks for looking.

I already have my Eatstayplay geocoin. Other than being metal and trackable, it looks a lot like the plastic tokens as far as design goes. Nothing fancy but worth it!

2" x 1.5" What is the thickness?
This coin is made at Oakcoins and is 3.5 mm thickness.
$14.95 plus 2.95 Seems very high for this coin. Is some of the profit going to a donation for the Pony Express?
Well, I am not sure where you are getting under $10 geocoins BUT this one serves triple duty.
1) it ia a very nice commemorative for the 150th anniversary of this famous trail in western lore.
2)it serves as a coin for the "pony express trail challenge" geocache GC1PRHM
3) it is a collectible or traveller as it is trackable at geocaching.com
it also has it own unique icon
I have a deal with the Pony Express Stables Museum in St Joseph so yes they do profit from the sales of these coins that they sell. As for the ones I sell there is no direct donation to the pony express BUT they do seem to get my money somehow or another. Hope this is a satisfactory answer.
thanks for looking,
MO Pirate aka Steve Allen

email sent! save one for me! I went out and traveled the pony express last summer and would love to get my hands on this coin
I plan to do the route myself with sho me da cache and gdh12 this memorial weekend. Guess we will all need coins after this feat! Hope you enjoy your coin!

Do you have particulars on the coin? $14.95 + shipping is a pretty hefty price.
check ebay as they are a couple on there starting at 12,95 (plus shipping)
-
You may want to blurr out or black out the tracking number off that coin pic.
check ebay as they are a couple on there starting at 12,95 (plus shipping)

Wait, is that coin oval? drool! You need to make it about 6 inches larger and attach pieces to use it as a belt buckle. I think it would look great!
YES it is! only three brave souls have completed "The Pony Express Trail Challenge" to date. They will be recognized at the event"MEET AND GREET- QUITE A FEAT- (Pony Express 150 years)" during the Sesquicentennial celebration in St Joseph, MO April 3rd. I would say one of these coins will be given away as a door prize too. (and they will be available on site to buy as well). Mojedo got FTF, Byonkes were 2nd to retrace the trail geocaching along the route, and Atomic Falcon Family was close behind before winter set in. Who will complete the trek this year? See you soon!

That challenge is looming for me...
sorry about not listing the size. they are 2" x 1.5" it takes a lot to get 8 states and 1966 miles on one side! Price is $14.95 plus shipping of $2.95 US or $3.95 Canada or $4.95 most other countries. I had 500 made and have sold almost 100 in the 2 days I have had them. When we have our EVENT on April 3, 2010 at The St Joseph, MO celebration I imagine a lot more will go bye bye. If you want to check on ebay, I have listed auction style with a 12.95 starting price so someone may get one for 12.95 there (plus shipping) or maybe they will go higher than 14.95 who knows. Thanks for looking but once the Sesquicentennial is over I can not imagine these going down in value as they will be sought after. Good luck! and thanks to all.
