  1. Can you transfer garmin car gps map sets to a garmin hand held gps?
  2. Maps look good, and it's better than just the basic map that comes with the unit. You can put me down for Florida. Best Regards
  3. Where can I get a copy of Garmin City Navigator NT for low $$? Is there some place to pick up Ver. 7 now that ver. 8 is out?

  5. Yes. For Garmin you'll probably want City Navigator and/or a set of Topo maps. For delorme you'll need to get maps for that too. I have a 60csx and love it. its durable, expandable, and fast. I've heard the delorme is a little slow but it has much nicer maps but autorouting (which i use a lot on my 60csx in my car) is not very good at all. For hiking though aerial photos and the sort can't be beat on the delorme. Thanks for the in put.
  6. New to the game and live in a big city. Does anyone have any input on the better unit Garmin 60csx or the DeLorme Earthmate PN-20? Is there something better? Do I need more than just the base maps

  8. Trialhead… I am also new to this and like to know if I can getaway with just using a lower cost GPS with only base maps or will I wish I spent the extra cash. I am in the process of comparing the Garmin 60csx ($350 at Bass pro + $50 rebate. Comes with base map only. You will still need to buy the street maps $130) and the DeLorme Earthmate PN-20 (On sale $380 at Delorme w/ new Topo software, 1 GB SD card, rechargeable batteries, travel kit and free shipping). Both are great units and have great reviews. I really like the Garmin’s larger screen and menu screens but just can’t swallow the added cost of the street maps which are included with the DeLorme. Look forward to hearing any suggestions from long time Geocahers.
