  2. I'd love a hiking stick with my avatar, but I don't know what line art is
  3. Kimmyroo, you gave me an idea when you made my avatar so I've been playing with it tonight. I've never done this before, so here's my first crack at my version
  4. WOW -- you did good -- thanks for the Avatar It actually looks a quite a bit like my cabin!!!
  5. I've been using Tivo antenna balls and now have a supply of the LiveStrong yellow bands. So, I'll be switching off back and forth.
  6. I would love an avatar. My name is Cabinwood -- because I live in a cabin in the woods! I have a Garmin 60CS Any help would be appreciated!!!
  7. Just registered. Thanks -- this is a great program!
  8. I can't speak for why you need 6.1. But, Mapsource is the name for a family of Garmin's mapping program. It basically is the operating system. Roads and Recreation uses Mapsource OS to show the R+R maps, Mapsource Topo, the same for their topo maps, and Mapsource City Select for their City Select maps., the same for Metroguide, etc. Upgrading the Mapsource OS is usually good as it eliminates problems and adds feature. But it won't change the maps you have on your CD's. Alan Thanks-- that's what I needed to know. I'll definitely download it!
  9. I have a question for y'all -- I have Mapsource Roads & Recreation and Mapsource City Select. What is this Mapsource 6.1 and would I want to download it???
  10. I just found out you can do this a couple days ago. I use City Select and Roads & Recreation. Ain't this forum great
  11. Well, Duh... What I was doing wrong is that I didn't know I could load the maps from the different programs all at once. I would load City Select when I would be driving, then load Roads & Recreation when I would be hiking, etc.. I've got it working now. THANK YOU!
  12. WOW! I didn't know. It always erases my last map set when I load the new one. What am I doing wrong???????
  13. Do you mean that I can have both Mapsource City Select and Mapsource Roads & Recreation maps loaded at the same time and switch between them???
  14. I started out with the Garmin Vista and now have the 60CS and I LOVE it!
  15. I went from the Vista to the 60CS. I haven't had any problems with it. I did use the electronic compass on the Vista when geocaching, so I definitely went for the 60CS. I only turn it on when I need it, the battery life is MUCH MUCH better than the Vista. I am running the latest firmware, but didn't have any problems before I downloaded that...
  16. I had lost my 60CS knob within a week or so. I emailed Garmin asking where I could get another and they sent one out free of charge. I check mine now every time I use it!
  17. Please, please tell me how to do that. I'm going through the menus and can't find that option. I downloaded the new firmware last night...
  18. Got my replacement knob from Garmin yesterday! I'm back in business...
  19. Thanks much! I wasn't sure what that was and didn't want to mess up either my DJ or GPS !!!
  20. Help! I just downloaded the new firmware for my 60CS and I went to connect it and realized that I have two USB cords that are "almost" identical and I don't know which to use. One is for my 60CS and one is for my Dell DJ. One of them has a little black thing near the end and it has printing on it that says "Shielded 28AWG/2C" on it, and one doesn't. I'm afraid to use the wrong one and damage it -- can anyone check your cord and let me know Thanks...
  21. The first set I got didn't have the "waves" at the bottom for the buttons. The set I got yesterday do and they fit perfectly...
  22. I've had the 60CS for a couple weeks now and absolutely love it. I've used it for both geocaching and auto routing and have had no problems/lockups. I had the Vista before and am used to that compass when I get near to a cache. I wouldn't want to do without it. I highly recommend it!
