  1. B and R you are the man thanks for that info. I did have a special character in my password. All is good now.
  2. I have been having an issue on all my computers where I have logged out of the Groundspeak Forums. Once I have logged out I am unable to log back in. I can login to www.geocaching.com just fine and when I go and click on the Forum link it takes me to the page to login. I enter the same username and password as I do for GC.com but I keep getting an error that my Username and password are incorrect. I have tried this on several workstation, and I now left with only one workstation that is still logged in. Please help!
  3. I think I have to hate you now...... You know you are not the only one that has told me that I know my wife hates me for working only 3 days a week and she is a school teacher which she gets off 3 months a year and I still work less then she does.
  4. I have been using left over waterfowl bands from our Duck Unlimited Banquets as my signature items. The are pretty need they have the county, chapter number, and date of the banquets engraved in them. Here is a picture of them. I know its a bad picture, but I will try to update it when I get home tonight.
  5. I have the same problem. My wife doesn't care that I geocache at all as long as it doesn't interfere with what she wants to do. She doesn't mind if we are out and a grab a quick P&G, but she will never go out hiking to find one. I am also trying to get my son interested as well but I think he is still a little young to get into it. I have also introduced a couple of my hunting buddies to it and they seem to enjoy it while we are out but they very rarely go out by themselves. My solution to my issue is I only work 3 days a week so the days that I am off I geocache all I want.
  6. I would go with the Oregon 450, because I really don't like that antenna sticking up.
  7. I am a Louisville area cacher, how can I help?
  8. You going to get magnets for the side of your vehicle that have the same logo, so they can get the full effect?
  9. +1 for the Oregon 450 as well. I love mine:)
  10. Here is a very useful link for all information regarding the Oregon series GPS's. Oregon Wiki
  11. Ok I sent a email to Groundspeak to get the activation codes for the two coins listed above and below is the response I got from them. Now what do I need to do? ! Hi Dustin, Thank you for writing to us. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide you with the activation code for your geocoin. The activation codes are provided directly to the coin owners and must be obtained from them. Here is a link to a forum thread listing a number of places to obtain activation codes for different coins: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=116136 You may also find the code available on one of the following sites: http://coincodes.com/ http://www.hogcode.com/ http://www.oakcoins.com/activate/ http://www.coinsandpins.com/activate.php I hope this helps! Best Regards, Sara Community Relations Representative Ok I got the activation code for the GeoPix geocoin. Now all I need is the Jeep one.

  13. Anyone know where I can get the activation codes for the follow two geocoins? THX4TC Red Jeep Black GeoPix
  14. Stay the hell away from Ebay. It's a seller's street market. Where would you suggest buying geocoins from?
  15. I've been looking at these things in the local hardware stores. They sell really cheap (sometimes as low as $3). Just can't seem to think how to use it for a cache that is clever and not obvious to muggles. Ideas??? I was thinking of using one for a night cache. Replace the LED with an infrared one, and then finders would need to use a digital camera/camcorder or night vision goggles to find it (most IR LEDs emit very close to the visible spectrum, and most cameras will pick it up.) I still have an older SONY camcorder that had their "night vision" technology that definitely picks it up! They really don't put out that much light so I was thinking about using them as night caches too, and the light would help them find them a little easier. I would like to put them on the back side of a tree that would not be facing the trail used to access cache. The IR LED is a neat idea too.
  16. I have bought 3 new unactivated geocoins off eBay and I seem to be having all kinds of trouble getting the activation codes from when they were supposedly purchased from. I have sent emails to Groundspeak for two of them and I just got another on in the mail that it looks like I am going to have to send them another email to get the last one. Can anyone explain to me why this is becoming a hassle?
  17. I thought I had lost my TB yesterday, but I found it in a cache that I haven't hid yet.
  18. I don't know if you have a TJMaxx around you but I have been finding 3 packs of lock-n-locks for $7.99 there.
  19. Do a search on google for Bison tubes you will get tons of hits. There are a ton of sites that offer geocaching supplies.
  20. I don't know if you have access to your own hosting site but you could install MediaWiki like Cacheopedia and be able to control the content a lot more.
  21. I have been looking to see if Kentucky is going to have an event to celebrate 10 years of geocaching and I haven’t seen any events pop up. Anyone have any info regarding this or not?
  22. Need to look for a txt file that says geocaches_found.txt
  23. I am also thinking about taking my dremel tool and beveling the end of the pipe so along with the stake that has been attached with 2 screws I will be able to push the pipe itself down in the ground a little for more stability.
