  1. I don't use a Handspring, but a Palm m515. I have the titanium case for it and it works VERY WELL, I have droppend it numerous times without any damage. I haven't tried the water test yet and hope not to.

Do a google search for Palm cases or PDA cases and you will find numerous cases for Palms, Handsprings, PPCs, etc.

  2. I didn't start it, but a new Yahoo group was started for SW Pennsylvania at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tri-go/

TRI-GO is a (dis)organization of geocaching enthusiasts in southwestern Pennsylvania. We’re just getting started and we’re not even sure what TRI-GO stands for just yet but we think that it could be an acronym for Three Rivers Informal Geocaching Organization or something like that. The purpose of this group will be to coordinate events and promote geocaching in our area. There are no dues or anything like that because we want to keep this club free and fun. Anyone interested in geocaching in SWPA is welcome and encouraged to join.

LOL!!! I grew up in NoFla and am quite used to seeing that 'weed'! That is absolutely hilarious!!!

  4. My understanding is that the TB has no real purpose. Just send it on its way and see what happens!

You could always email the owner and check if s/he forgot to add a purpose, but generally if it does not have a purpose then there is none. Just place it in another cache and see where it goes.

Only a TB owner can 'officially' give a TB a 'purpose'.

  5. I'd like to know why I can post pictures larger than 100K on a benchmark page and it will automatically be resized, but that doesn't happen on the cache pages?

  6. I always wear my tan GC.com hat while out hiking, and sometimes around the town. I am yet to meet any other cachers, but look forward to the day.

I have noticed in some logs that I have missed other cachers by a mere 30 minutes, though.

  7. I don't want to start a flame war, like the ones about stats for geocaches; but I was curious about most BM finds. I'm not really concerned about WHO has the most finds, but I would find it interesting if there are people that have over 1, 2, 3+K finds. Those people should be commended for their work. I'm more interested in knowing this info from an intellectual point of view, rather than a competitive view.

  8. The next logical question is........

When will the GPSr manufacturers start making a GPSr specifically for geocachers? I'd love a GPS that I could load all of my GPX files into (or at least the local ones)!

  9. I would love to find one of those in a chache here in SWPA!

Edit: How much did it cost to get those made? Was it local or on the internet?

  10. So what was discussed about forming an informal geocaching group? Were there any decisions made? Is there anything that should be discussed here?

Hope everyone had fun at the Wing Ding, wish I could have made it, but my parents arrived early and I was unable to make it up.

I realize that, after rereading my post I realized that I didn't write what I meant. I'd like the option that the hider can include the dates of hunting season next to the icon. I think more hiders would put this info in this area than in the description. Plus, noone would need to read the description to find out if it currently hunting season.

    BTW, thanks for the link!

  12. That's a really nice page, I plan on using it when I place my first cache. I'd like to see an option for the hunting icon that states when it is hunting season. As a recent transplant to PA I have no idea when the various hunting seasons are here!

  13. RogBarn,

I'd like a copy of it too, if you don't mind!

    Thanks.

  14. I have an old constitution (actually, bylaws) for an organization that I was in in college, but it is way to formal for a new group. If you want a copy I can email it to you if I can find it. I would recommend contacting some of the smaller, more informal groups, on campus and just ask them if you could get a copy of their constitution and use it for your organization. Most should be happy to give you a copy.

  15. You could always contact one of the people that had previously found the TB and (if they still have the serial number) ask them to move the TB to the TB Graveyard.

  16. I have flown recently with several travel bugs in my carry on luggage, as well as a laptop, GPS, cables, etc. and had absolutely no problem at all with them.

Where are you flying to? Knowing which airports you will be travelling through may (especially the ones where you need to go through the security checkpoint) enable someone to tell you what the security is like at that airport.

  17. I think this would be a nice feature as well. I recently went on a trip to Colorado and there were several TBs in my area that wanted to go there, but I did not have enough time to drive 40-50 miles to pick them up myself. If I could have been able to post a note on the TB page, possibly someone who picked it up in the meantime would have been able to bring them closer to me. I did email one person who had a TB in their possession that I wanted and they were kind enough to drop it off in an area that I could pick it up, so I at least got to take one TB with me!

  18. I love these tags, they look great! One suggestion would be to add a blank box the same size as the one sided card so people can add more info about the tax on the other side. The other suggestion would be to add a line that the owner can include their email address if they wish, so they can be contacted directly about the TB.
