  1. Thanks guys, I finally wound up with a Magellan sport trac pro. At Costco it was sold as a package with the GPS, DC power cord, PC cord, wrist lanyard, cloth carring case w/ belt clip, Auto mount holder, Streets CD, and two other cd's, for $300+, with a $75.00 rebate, making it I believe about $235.00 NOW I need to learn how find the Lat. & Lon. to a cache, working on that now. Again Thanks guys Frank
  2. Thank you again Peter for bearing with this dummy that can't quite say what he means, or mean what he says. I stopped by a boating store today and they now only carry Garmin. Also they said that all Garmin's will only download maps off their own (Garmin) mapping CD's. No model will down load DeLome Street Atlas, they recommended the Garmin GPSMAP 76 for what I wanted to do. I thought $300.00 was a little pricy for my first GPS. Peter, the couple that took us on our first and only Geo cache hunt had a Magellon something or other, I think maybe a 315 or something like that, colored green. As I was driving he held it up for me to see, and it showed lines for major roads, and our position driving down those roads. I'm sure he said he downloaded that "map" from his laptop using DeLorme Street Atlas, which is the program I use. Anyhow I've tryed the Garmin web site, and the Magellon web site, and they are so cluttered I get confused (easy to do with me). Again Peter thanks for all the help, I'll have to make a decision soon. Frank
  3. Thank you Peter for the Quick reply, By waypoints and routes, do you mean if I need to drive from my location lets say 30 miles before I get close enough to walk to the site, that they will show me hwys and streets to take to get there????
  4. I am brand new to geocaching and I would like to purchase a GPS that allows me to download maps from Delorme Street Atlas to the GPS. I would also like to keep the price under 200.00 (US). Does any one have some recommendations? Frank
