  1. Excellent info. PDOP's post with the easy to follow guidance from Geocaching University was especially helpful to an "anti-tech" such as I. I think I can figure this out now... Thanks to all
  2. I know a few "paperless" cachers, just using PDA's for all their page downloads, etc... I'm not sure about what PDA to go with and/or what software I need to get going. Anyone want to help with some "paperless caching for dummies" ideas... Thanks
  3. hmmm... Sattellite - Dave Matthews.
  4. Letter Never Sent - REM...for letterboxes.
  5. Wow - Brian...you're CD/Vinyl collection looks like it may mirror part of mine pretty close...here's a few more "Caching" titles...from a quick scan at my files: Look Sharp - Joe Jackson A Token Of My Extreme - Frank Zappa (for Geocoins) Adventurer - Lou Reed Bad Luck - Social Distortion (for DNF's) Beggining to See The Light - Velvet Underground Buckets of Rain - Bob Dylan (for those soggy caches not very well maintained) Can't Get There From Here - REM Consolation Prizes - Iggy Pop (when you just missed the FTF) Dark As A Dungeon - Johnny Cash (for night caches) Dissapointed - Bob Mould (for DNF's) Figure It Out - Johnny Society (for puzzle caches) Get It While You Can - Janis Joplin Gift - Sugar (easy caches) Good Feeling - Violent Femmes
  6. So, I woke up in the morning, grabbed the MP3 player and went out to do some cache maintenance. I was walking up to one of my caches as "In A Big Country" by the 80's band Big Country came on my player...good music to cache by. Made me think...what' YOUR favorite cache music? Do you have a caching theme song? Or, do you think a certain type of music is cache-friendly?? Is it country, is it rock, is it classical, is it hip-hop, punk, blues, celtic, or bluegrass?? I may have to go find some of your suggestions... Thanks, Skoogie
  7. For those heading back to gig harbor...better be sure to check for NEW caches. By the time you arrive, there could be another 100. I can't decide whether or not to archive some or just go for Quickie #7 - #20....several were planned out and never made it. Oh, I better check to see if anyone has logged a find on BlueHeron's new one....
  8. Wenatchee here we come. Hmmm...I better clear the calendar now!
  9. Trust me...there's several of us in Gig Harbor that are READY to be laughed at!! Bring on the Wenatchee Machine...we're ready!
  10. We placed one here during the Gig Harbor Cache Machine on 1/8/05... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...2f-d7cf179756dd Safe Harbor TB Hotel Cache...
  11. This was our first CM, but, it won't be our last...what a blast! Now, I have to admit that one of the most fun parts is standing by a cache that you've previously found and laugh at the new hunters. Of course, that pretty much describes GeoDiver's entire day - did he actually log ANY finds?? Oh, well, this was a Great time! Thanks again to TravisL. Oh, and YES, it did snow in Gig Harbor the morning after the CM...too funny.
  12. Sounds like we picked up a couple campers for the Skoogie & Squirtle house. No, we're not listed on the AAA website, but, we do have some room for sleeping bags if you need a spot. We'll be at the Pre-Party friday night...hit us up if you need a spot for a nap! There will only be a short background/security check which I'm sure any cacher in camo and paint on their face could pass. Squirtle's probably up for late night of PS2 challenges, so, kids (or adult kids) are welcome too! Wow - this could be trouble, huh??....Ms. Skoogie is looking at me...
  13. Well, here's one person hoping for MORE snow than is being advertised (I've heard only a couple inches likely around this area if any; but, you never know). Bring your sleds, there's plenty of fun in the Harbor if we get enough snow. Alright - I hate to add to the frustration of late caches, but, The Big Bonus at Wilkinson Farm was placed on New Years Day. I won't encourage a lot of folks to get it while at Wilkinson Farm (I don't want to mess with Travis' awesome time table), but, it should be an easy one on your way out of town! I'm sure we'll see some of you brave souls this weekend... S
