I gave up on a cache once and decided to head for the jeep. I tripped and fell down the cliff the cache was on. I found it on the way back up.

If there is enough room, and it looks like an active cache, I leave glow sticks or flashlights.

You can find small containers at walmart. I bought a small plano waterproof container for my phone for $5 or so. They also have 30cal ammo can size plastic boxes for $6.
