  1. I have a colorado 400T and have been doing everything with it in native Mac OSX. I just ordered city navigator Nt NA for Mac. I cant wait to get that and play with it.
  2. The odd thing is I am still running 2.4 on my 400T because it has been so stable. My screen is as bright with backlighting turned all the way up as it is when you plug in the car power cable. Mine is bright. My batteries seem to last forever, and I am not having any freezes. A few weeks back it frooze up on restart after doing a lot of geocache downloads from the computer. Simply pulled the batteries and restarted. This only has happened a few times in the couple of months I've owned it.
  3. How would you rate the 660 ?? Amazon runs it for a little over $300 every so often and I was thinking about one for the wife. I just have a lower end Model the 250W and it is unbelievable. I am still amazed how nice it is to have one of these units. However, I am one that is good with direction anyway so it is not a madatory thing but it is nice to have. Now my wife on the other hand acutally needs it more. She doesn't need to call me and ask me how to get places anymore because of a detour or what not. One feature I really like is if a highway splits it tells you which lane to stay in. Nice. Otherwise sometimes you don't know until your ontop of the split then to find out your in the wrong lane. This is when you travel to places your unfamiliar with of course.
  4. Yeah, ours is the wide model so width could be a change. I still have the Nuvi but it lives in the wifes car.
  5. I am thinking about buying and installing City Navigator NT on Colorado 400T. Can someone who has done this take a few screen shots of what the maps and navigation looks like? I am used to a Nuvi with voice commands (turn right).
  6. Mine had been a solid performer since I got it in early March. I like it for hiking, geocaching and just plain naviagation. I did 4 geocaches the other day and it worked flawlessly. Paperless feature is awesome and the accuracy seemed a touch better than my etrex legend.
  7. Snowmobiling the back country (see avatar) Hunting auto navigation geocaching boating camping
  8. I'm not sure if this is what your talking about but try going to set-up/Maps/North Up instead of Track Up.
  9. Then what about the Marine profile? Seems silly to me since the recreational profile is useful to have should you want to hike etc, besides, the 400t has plenty of space on it and I doubt if the profile takes much of it. Profiles are one of the most useful features of the Colorado series and I use them. Are you short of space on your 400? Barry Maybe he is a walleye or bass fishing pro.
  10. I believe on the geocache site you can select the bottom option which is "Send to GPS" button without having a premium membership.
  11. That is why I copied every file over to a hard drive when I got my colorado.
  12. Anyone try the Motorola Razor charger to power the colorado in the car? I have an iplug charger with the proper USB connector for my razor. Should work if you have the latest beta update in the colorado?
  13. I ordered mine from gpsnow and had it in 2 days. I'm in michigan as well. Mine has been very stable. 400T.
  14. Garmin PVT always runs over a USB cable. Spanner converts PVT to NMEA. So if you are using USB you have two options, and application that interfaces directly to PVT (w/o Spanner) or to NMEA (w/ Spanner) Not sure what you can/can't do on a Mac. GO$Rs I don't run MacGPS Pro but my Mac Powerbook does recognize my Colorado through USB connection. Just plug it in and it goes into drive mode. Also with Bobcat, webupdater, cnad cummunicator plugin I can transfer data back and forth to the unit. I don't know if this helps but I guess I am trying to say the mac recognizes the USB unit.
  15. Mine works nice on my powerbook G4 running 10.4 however If I have Garmins webupdater loaded it will crash Bobcat to the point that it will not run unless I uninstall updater. So I only load updater when I know there is software to update my units.
  16. I have really been enjoying mine with 2.4. I have not downloaded 2.5 beta yet. I think I will wait until it is released because mine is performing well now.
  17. I have the Nuvi 250W. It is a very nice unit for the money. I think it was around $250.
  18. I ordered mine from GPS city as well. I just needed the cradle because I already have the arm and suction mount from ram. I am willing to wait. My guess the hold up is at ram. New product releases alwasys take time.
  19. Thanks for the link...It will come in handy... Also, the Colorado 400T had the 3D map view and the Topo preloaded that the 60csx does not plus a real nice user interface. I have the 400T and love it. I have not had any problems. I am sure there are several other features the colorado had that the 60 does not.
  20. There is probably only one place to get one. Garmin. You better make your phone call.
  21. I find the NI-MH rechargables last a long time in a GPSr including my colorado.
  22. I did the snowmobile maps and they worked fine. I converted mine on the PC and then trasferred them over. I'm in MI also. Send me your email address and I will send you the file of the convereted snowmobile maps. I was wondering about other maps and what people were using.
  23. Whats crazy is I had my Legend for 7 years and loved it but the small gray scale screen made it a bit dated for me. I've been waiting for a new GPS that would mostly screen area with buttons and non screen area taking up very little space. The colorado fit the bill perfectly. So I got one a few weeks back and then this week I just got a Nuvi 250W. Went 7 years with one now I just got 2 with in 3 weeks. Both have are nice and have their own purpose.
  24. Do you need city Navigator NT loaded on the unit to have it build a route using roads? Seems when I pick a waypoint or POI it just draws a straight line to it instead of using roads. Any help?
  25. So if you spend over half the amount to get the 60 CSX and then next year you get a Colorado for lets say $50-$100 cheaper than today you spent a lot more money than just buying the Colorado now? My last GPS lasted me over 7 years. As a matter of fact it still works great. I did take the plunge and got the Colorado 400T and have not had any issues with it. I love it.
