  1. Now I need some advice... I'd like a pack about the same size as my jansport (book bacg size), or maybe a bit biger. The more pockets/organizers the better, as I always find myself carrying small items that ust get jumbled in the botom. Ideally, I'd like two - one for me and one for my wife. Unfortunatley (this week) we onlt have about $120 to spend. If I wait a week or two, we have signifigantly more. So, here's what I'm looking at: Blowfish (no molle, few compartments, right size, right price) M.U.L.E. 3L (molle, lots of compartments, size?) H.A.W.G (molle, lots of compartments, might be too big?) Transformer (molle, tons! of compartments, maybe too big?) I think I'm partial to the transformer mecause of the additional compartments, and I can change sizes at will.... Any thoughts?
  2. Just so I'm clear here... I do remember reading a while back that there were some special promo codes and such for us geocachers, and wanted to make sure that was still the case... I'll be ordering 2 hopefully within the next week from the Shueys, and wanted to make sure that the prices on the site were the ones for us cachers. :-)
  3. Well, the wife and I are headed on vacation next week, and we'd like to hit a few caches while we are there. The only problem is that we are not all that familliar with some of the areas, and driving directions would be helpful. My solution: Bring the laptop! Well, I was brining it anyways, but let's put it to another use. I only have the basic eTrex model (yellow), and I do have a data cable. I've been sucessfull in making the laptop talk to the GPS, so no issues there. The question is, how should I get my caches in to the mapping software? I've got two choices for maping software: An older copy of Street Atlas USA, and Microsoft Mappoint 2002. I'm allready getting GPX files for the caches - I put them on my Ipaq 5450 with GPXView. I wouldn't find it a problem to go with a different file format to get the job done. Which way should I go? Street Atlas or Mappoint? What software should I use to convert?
  4. There's one near Moss Glen Falls in VT. Haven't been there yet, but will in a few weeks. Incidemtally, it is also where I proposed 2 years ago. A Picture of the falls.
  5. ARRGH! Moun10Bike, that was exactly it. I'm using GpxView on an Ipaq. I looked at the settings, and my home coords were waaaay off. Set them to the correct ones, and POOF! Open mouth, insert foot. Time for this noob to RTFM. :-) Thanks for all your help guys. Jeremy, scratch this one as an either BCAK or an ID-10-T error.
  6. My Monday results were worse. I used the other zipcode for "village" in town (02814) and the results yielded caches that I have never seen before - all with distances of 6036KM or greater. I know that there are caches closer to that zipcode, even minus the 6000KM. I'm trying via exact coordinates now, as opposed to zip code. - Wampa
  7. Tried again on friday. Same distances are the result. I'll attempt a different (but close geographically) zipcode on monday.
  8. My latest PQ seems a bit odd. I search from my home area code (02829), and I get caches that are close to home, but the distance shows up as over 6000km. When I sort them by distance, the actual closest caches show up near the middle of the list. When I do a regular search, I get all of the caches in the correct order, and with the correct distances. Help? - Wampa
