Believe it or not, there is still time to order your California Geocoins (asuming you can get it to me in the mail by January 5, 2004). They are $3 each. Go to: www.calif.geocoin.net or California Geocoin Order Form in pdf format

This is not a paint idea, but a good camo idea. On two caches, I camouflaged the container with the dirt or sand that was around the cache site. I simply just spread glue alll over it and then roll and/or poured the dirt/sand on the container. This idea works great if the cache is placed near rocks or lot of other ground cover.

So, is anyone going to take my warning meter down? That is the whole reason I started this thread. 5 pages later, I am still at 20%. Oh please Co. Admin, where is your Christmas cheer?
-
This has turned into a pretty lively thread (104 and 3 pages and this thread is only about 24 old). Look at the good I have spread. Doesn't this warrent a 10% reduction on my warning meter? Yes, I actively campaining to get my warning meter to go down.
-
In my running battle with a certain someone, I have been just trying to demonstrate that the warning meter is childish. This warning meter has really never been fully explained. Is being at 80% worse then being at 20%. Does it ever go down? If yes, how do you make it go down? Who decides this? I have no problem someone policing these forum boards. Inappropriate language or totally non-related Geocaching posts have no place on these forum boards. Though a small very few have turned this policing into dictatorship censorship. In my case, a certain someone's actions just totally reinforce that his whole warning meter thing is childish.

The Most Influential Poster Of The Year.
Bob&TheGang replied to El Diablo's topic in General geocaching topics
I think everyone would agree that the Co. Admin. is the Poster of the Year. Look at the Joy he has given us. -
I sphereheaded getting the California Geocoin designed and produced. This Geocoins is just going to be another avenue for Geocaching.com to get recognized (though that is not why I did it). I just wanted to celebrate Geocaching in California. You would think that is a good deed (but that's where I got my warnings for - posting the Geocoin was available for sale (at cost). Which by the way it still is.

What did you get your warning for? Here is a thread where you can repent your sins and maybe, just maybe your warning meter will go down. I got a warning for double posting & and then not talking nice about an Admin. I promise to be good. I will even write it out 50 times. I will not double post or say not nice things about an Admin. again. I will not double post or say not nice things about an Admin. again. There is still a chance, if you have not done so already, to order your California Geocoins. Even though the official ordering deadline was Dec. 15th, I won't be placing the order until January 6, 2004 (because Pressed Metal, the company that is minting these Geocoins, is closed for 2 weeks during the holidays). So, I will accept any orders I receive up to January 5, 2004. But don't wait, I have more then required minimum to place an order. As of 12/12/03, we have a total of 814 Geocoins ordered with a a few more orders apparently in the mail. So get your orders into me ASAP. And send me an email notification that your order is on the way (to: Bobkat92@AOL.Com). California Geocoin Order Form in pdf format

Thanks for you order. My first order from Florida. I may do another order again in the late Spring or Summer. For that to happen, I would need a minimum of 250 Geocoins ordered. So if there is enough interest, I will do it.
-
The order total has reached its goal. We are now at 504. So I will definitely be placing an order. I have a bunch of emails saying more is on the way. We will likely top 600, maybe even get 700.
-
Once the ordering is complete, I will be sending out info. to people about who they will be they can pick their Geocoin up from. As for people's concerns about a specific date and time, everyone needs just to be flexible. For the San Diego distribution site, I plan to make it a bit of a gathering by making the site the home to a new cache. If for some reason a person can't make it on that day and time, we will just arrange for them to pick up their Geocoin at my home. I am sure every distribution site will have a similar type of an arrangement. Kloosley will be doing the San Jose Distribution. I think she will just be doing it out her house. Touchstone & Kealia will be doing Santa Cruz. I pretty sure they are planing some type of gathering or making a new cache site. I can't remember who is doing S.F., I will have to check through my emails about that.
-
The actual distriubtion site in San Jose (along with the all the other distribution sites) has yet to be determined. All I did was to find people willing to do it. It will be up to each individual distributor to decide the actual location. The only criterion I gave them was that it needed to be fairly close to the city center. Once these Geocoins are ready to distribute (whichi will likely be in early Feb., 2004), these distibutors will be contacting the people (most likely via email) as to the the exact date, time and location for the distribution site.

I received orders for another 98 California Geocoins this week. That brings the Grand Total up to 491. I know of at least 3 or 4 more orders on the way. The ordering deadline is still Dec. 15, 2003, so get your orders in ASAP. California Geocoin Order Form in pdf format

Yup, now I am at 20%. I just can't follow the rules and I am a teacher too. This post will probably get me another 20%. I promise (really this time) to stop. Just had to get one more line in. I love you Rocky Mountain Guy! And I think the Population Center thread is actually talking about population. The flag on the Geocoin is the Geographical center of Califronia We did some reseacrch on this, I pretty sure its right.

Another Geocacher already did that two days ago. It stayed up there for about a day, then it was moved. For some reason or another, the Co. Admin. thinks this whole CA. Geocoin drive is strictly just a California thing. Even though I have received orders from Washington, R.I., Virginia, and Texas. I suspect he will move Nscaler's post too (though hopefully it can stay up for a few hours). I also suspect I will get another warning for posting this. I am at 10% now. What happens if I go to 100%? If I promise to be good, will my warning meter eventually go down? And for some odd reason or another, I yet to received the Co. Admin.'s Geocoin orders. This week, I have received orders for another 88 Geocoins (so far). That brings the total up to 481.

From Where Can I Order Geo-cache Coins?
Bob&TheGang replied to Great Scott!'s topic in West and Southwest
Actually, thanks to Marky, the California Geocoin Site has been updated. It now has pictures of the actual minted Geocoin, design team credits, a pdf order form file, and a FAQ section. The actual tracking feature is still under construction. Check it out, it's pretty cool! California Geocoin Site -
Go to Buxley’s Geocaching Waypoint - San Diego Map Thanks for you your Geocoin order. I just got two more orders today. We are now up to 431. Ther goal is 500.
-
I also posted the Geocoin Order on the General Forum (to let people know about the Geocoin, but who do not read the West -Southwest forum board). I guess the the Admin, that lives in the state that has a city with the nick name Mile High (not mentioning any names), did not like me double posting. He pulled my post and gave me a warning. So now I have 10% of my warning meter. What happens if I go to 100%? Anyway, I received another order for 15 more Geocoins. We are now up to 408. I think at least 2 or 3 more orders are on their way.

I get got a warning for double posting. I am at 10%. What happend if I go to 100%? Will it ever go down? I am not trying to be a smart %##, but this warning thing has not been fully explained.

Its been a good week of ordering the California Geocoin. This week I have received orders for 155 Geocoins. That makes the total 393 (as of 11/30/03). I have received two emails saying more is on the way. The goal is to get 500 Geocoins ordered. The deadline is Dec. 15, 2003. So get your orders into me ASAP. Remember you can only orders these Geocoins by paying by check or money order. I am NOT doing the pay via the PayPal option. California Geocoin Order Form in pdf format
