  1. I changed a setting in the Macro somehow - the NUVI 360 no longer alerts when when nearing a geocache... any help on how to restore the "ding" and the geocache icon on the display will be appreciated... no idea what I did - voyageurs60
  2. Let me start with the assumption I can be really dense at times... want to download the latest version of the macro... went to the top of the topic and cannot find the link... where am I to find it... sorry for taking away from the discussion... See - I found it... getting use to using Firefox and the link was not highlighted...
  3. Roddy - thanks for the coin at GCF - we have activated it and will drop in caches on its way to Ohio tomorrow... it is TB1A68Y - Todi's Wild Ride Motorcycle Awareness GeoCoin... voyageurs60 (Dan)
  4. missed you at GeoCoinFest - how can I get one? voyageurs60 (Dan) (Pittsburgh, PA)
  5. Ok - another couple of questions... 1) Is there a way on the NUVI 360 with this macro to have all the close caches displayed on the map... I think presently it will only show 1 cache at a time... 2) I see that you should be able to change the alert tone to something custom... I cannot find the directions of how to do this... voyageurs60 (Dan)
  6. Could someone please explain how to use the spoiler sync better - my understanding is there are 2 parts - 1 is a gsak macro and the other is something to be run on a gpx file... Thanks - voyageurs60 (Dan)
  7. Best - matter of preference... there are some great options out there... chances are if you are an experienced cacher you have one of the other tech devices... I will know list the ones I know of... there are probably more... PSP IPod Palm phone or PDA Windows phone or PDA Garmin Nuvi Garmin Colorado Magellan Triton TomTom Like I said probably more... So which do you have? Of the above there are multiple methods for each... I am sure folks will be able/willing to help... voyageurs60 (Dan)
  8. I am having trouble reading the forum - keep getting the forum error page help? trying to figure out how to tell our gifting status and do not know what info to include... voyageurs60 (Dan)
  9. I am ready to buy mine... how do I do this? voyageurs60 (Dan)
  10. My preferred GPSr is a PDA running BeeLine - no maps at all - just my bread crumb track and the direction arrow. In order to figure out where to park and the location use Microsoft Streets & Trips and a TomTom on a PDA. Benefits of PDA with Beeline - integration of GPSr and a Cachemate like product - just tap the icon and voilà - the the GC log page - hints and the whole kit and caboodle. Now for full disclosure "I DO NOT DO ANY CACHES ABOVE A TERRAIN RATING OF 3.5", physical restrictions Optimized route on K2 - not for me... voyageurs60
  11. Buy the way - those of you who do not like the urban hides - do not forget to paint/modify the ammo cans we like to find in the woods... All geocaching containers should be clearly marked and not indicate anything of concern - "AMMUNITION"... voyageurs60 (Dan)

  13. Geeze - install a cache or at least a waymarker - how else do you expect me to find them. Will monitor transmissions closely voyageurs60 (Dan)
  14. In the Pittsburgh Area there is: Pittsburgh Area GeoCing Assosciation - www.wpaga.com In NorthEast Ohio - NEOGeochers - www.geochums.com St. Clairsville & surrounds - Ohio Valley Geocachers - www.ovgeo.com for old school ideas of caching (not bad - not my cup of tea) - TriGo read there site - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tri-go/ TriGo - lots of complaining about "not quality/hard caches" - their thing... There are others further north in PA Do not have the link but there are a number of others in Ohio Central Ohio South East Ohio - your neck of the woods - around Gallia/Meigs counties etc. I am active in the 1st 3 feel free to contact me. voyageurs60 (Dan)
  15. I am a premium member I would like to be able to search by multiple keyword criteria As an example - to find the "dark caches in Pennsylvania" Keyword - dark State - Pennsylvania If I search the keyword dark - get all the caches with the word "dark" Not doing the ones in Utah any time soon - get my drift... If this is already possible - how is it done... voyageurs60 (Dan)
  16. Know of a person who is assembling a 10' x 10' storage shed as a cache. The intention is to have it the end of a puzzle - each puzzle in the cache will have a number for the combination lock to be place on the latch to enter. Fun idea - would like to do one like this. On a second note - largest Travel Bug I have heard of is a payphone. Others - car tire rim and bowling ball. voyageurs60 (Dan)
  17. IMHO if you place a cache you want someone to find it. Let cachers cache on their own terms. If they do not want to solve the puzzle then they are missing a challange. But they had to look for the solution. If someone wishes to solve the puzzle and then find they get a different sence of accomplishment. If they are caching - who cares. If a cache is never found does that make it a better cache. If you as a cache placer never have anyone find your cache does that give you a thrill? Please do not take my observations as a flame - that is not my intention. I see this type of topic all the time and personally feel it is silly. Different strokes for different folks. Just as an idea - if the publisher of a cache really does not want anyone but a solver of the puzzle to find and claim, how about adding that to the cache pags - maybe add it to the hint section. A person who is not interested in solving the puzzle will de-crypt this an read your personal preference. Most cachers do respect the cache publisher wishes. voyageurs60 (Dan)
  18. What is the Max size SD card you can use - 1 or 2 gig are so reasonably priced For the record, many people are reporting that their 60CSx came with a 128mb card, even though the box indicates that it is packaged with a 64mb one. Yeah, that's true. I opened mine up and it has a 128mb card in it.
  19. Like them both - slight edge to the cutout version How can I be alerted that these coins are available? Thank you, voyageurs60 (Dan)
