  1. You first have to establish which GPSr will be suitable for your needs. If you'll be looking for caches in more forest setings than urban caches, you should think Magellan. If the other way around, then Garmin. Also, you must ask yourself if this is a hobby I can see yourself participating in for a long time. Why spend extra money on a tight budget? I purchased an Etrex and used it for my first 2.5 years of caching and 300+finds. Eventually your need to go "paperless" (not printing off several cache pages along with map pages) or not will influence the purchase of a newer GPSr or not. Within in my first 6mo's I had gone semi-paperless by purchasing a PDA(Palm Zire now seen at Office Max for ~$60), and fully this past Christmas by receiving a Garmin GPS map 76CS. Basically your level of involvement in this sport will be directly influenced by the amount of gadgets that you purchase.
  2. Thanks for the aide!!! Will give it a go!!
  3. I just received a PalmZire 21. I have downloaded Cachemate and registered it as well as Sync'd the cache that I am looking to find this week-end. I have no description/hint/logs...NADDA. The only thing I have is the title...the waypoint...and the category that it i listed under which I placed it in. HELP.... What do I need to do to get the xtra things that I am missing???
  4. I have noticed that several caches have had their TB's exterminated. Has this happened to anyone else in a different area and if so, what can be done about it? I'm wary of leaving or moving a travel bug along in my area (Gainesville, FL).
  5. I have noticed that several caches in the Gainesville area have had notes in geocaches stating that all travel bugs have been exterminated. Is anyone else having this problem in their area? If so, have you found a remedy or not? I'm weary of moving a travel bug along in my area because of what is happening.
  6. Greatly appreciated!! The amount of urban/regular caches are steadily diminishing (having already been found) and I thought it time to venture out on my own and place some caches in the hopes that more people would do the same. quote: Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time. 7. Does anyone have a template for the log sheet one would place in a micro cache. If so, either respond or email to me. If not, looks like I'll devise my own. Thanks!! quote:I have an existential map. It has 'You are here' written all over it. I Steven Wright
