  1. Thanks everyone. On my Logitech Spanish keyboard 0(zero) and O(letter) are identical. I see on my English laptop they are quite different. Must get some more practice on the pc. Matter now resolved. thanks to everyone for the suggestions. Manu, I'll do you a swap tomorrow. Richard
  2. I went skiing last week and found about 20 caches on the way home. I picked one up but cannot remember from where. I have checked all the caches I found and cannot see it listed. I have done a search and come up with the words seen in the title. The coin does not have a name just "Geocaching.com - geocoin. I have used the number imprinted on its reverse. How do I log this? Any suggestions would be very welcome as I want to move this on during the monthly meeting tomorrow. Richard
  3. Hi, This thread interests me. I have been away for 3 months so my GSAK has fallen behind. I am updating it with the finds I made during my holiday. That is easy enough but trying to find out how many finds there have been on my 124 caches I have hidden is proving difficult. My pc has been running for 36 hours and it downloads a few logs from the API and then I get the message "api call per hour limit reached" and a timer appears to count down the next hour. My caches are popular at holiday time and at the current rate this is likely to take another three or four days. I am going away again and cannot leave my computer on and I assume if I turn it off i will lose all the information downloaded so far. Is there an alternative way (a macro, maybe) to obtain this information? Richard
  4. Thank you Atlas Cached. Website bookmarked and will have a good look later tonight. This website appears to be just what i want. I'll also have a look at other "adventures" in my part of the world; Catalonia, Spain. Thanks again Richard
  5. Thanks Splashy, I'll try that tonight. I'm tidying the garage at the moment. Career job!
  6. Thanks for that information.I didn't have any problem on my (short) trip yesterday. I do have the Garmin windscreen/dashboard mount but I have also bought a bicycle mount and a rucksack mount from Ram Mounts. The Garmin bike mount looked a bit permanent but the Ram mount looked as if it could be transferred from bike to bike a little more easily plus it is closer to my eyes! One problem I have discovered is creating "adventures" According to the manual (page 15) I should select setup from the drawer then set up>adventures>create adventure. I cannot find adventures on the menu. Any clues, anyone? With thanks Richard
  7. Done the shopping and the sat nav worked successfully. Also ordered some bits from Ram Mount UK. Now planning some routes for the weekend. Thanks for all your help. Richard
  8. Many thanks for that Splashy. The re-installation is a much bigger file. I will try it out on my weekly shopping trip tomorrow. Richard
  9. I have just bought a Montana 650T. I own an ancient 60CSx and have had it repaired once (80 Euros) and now it is struggling again. I bought an Etrex30 off the internet without being able to try it first and find it is just too small especially on my mountain bike and at my great age my eyes are not so good. The Montana was just great for geocaching last weekend and now I want to use it in my motorhome (RV) as a road navigation device but I am struggling and need some help. As has been stated before on this forum the manual on the subject lacks detail. My first problem is that I cannot select any country other than Spain, where I live. Secondly I cannot select any cities or other addresses in Spain or anywhere else. They show up on the map. My guess is that part of the file is missing. On my Etrex the file size for the City Navigator 2012.3 .img is 2,435,648 kb and I can find addresses on that in the usual way. On the Montana the file City Navigator 2013.2.img is only 1,898,752. A file gmapprom.img is 3,814,316 is probably the European topo may which came with the gps. Does any know or can tell where I can find out how big the file should be for C/N Europe 2013.3? I have tried to download it again but seem to be blocked. I know Garmin are very protective of their files. Assuming I can download it again some way how do I direct Garmin to put it on my SD card rather than on the device? Another less important question. Can I delete all the .pdf files in respect of the manuals? I will save them on my desktop but I don't need all these files in various different languages. Finally does anyone know if Garmin plan to manufacture fixings for the Montana? I have the windscreen mount and a bicycle handlebar mount but both my 60CSx and the Etrex 30 have various mounts to attach the GPS to my rucksack, to my belt etc. I have cannabalised the Garmin carabina clip which clips onto a sling round my neck. With many thanks in anticipation of your response. Richard
  10. I am new to geocaching and am finding it addictive and adds a new dimension to my, mainly solo, walking in Eastern Spain. I have managed to drop my Mio A201 and need a replacement. I was looking at a MIO P350 as I already have OZI and MioMap v3.2 and this device comes with just WM5 installed. It has, however, now been discontinued. Will its successor, Mio P360, be OK? It has WM6 and can be bought without SAT NAV software. Will OZI Explorer and Mio Map work on a PDA with WM6? Will all my other software work on a PDA with WM6? An alternative is an HP Ipaq 214 with a big 640 x 480 screen. Will that work? It also comes with WM6 Does any one have any alternative suggestions? Max GBP200, US$400 or €350. I propose to buy from the internet, probably a UK supplier. Many thanks in anticipation. Richard Edwards
