  1. Hello all! My wife & I have been caching off and on for a couple of years now, but are wanting to be more involved. I don't see anyone else posting here for central IN so I thought I'd try If interested please PM or email me @ your earliest possible convenience. Good luck and happy hunting!
  2. I apologize but I am using my cell phone browser, so the form is not giving me an option to delete my duplicate reply :/
  3. oh I agree I do not like guardrail caches too much I really just want someone to help me with the logistics of actually logging it on the website, not necessarily trying to find a place to hide it. I also forgot to mention earlier... does anyone know where there's a place to buy used nano catches and containers locally in Indiana or on the web?
  4. Hello all! I'm from central IN and am looking to start placing caches as well as hunt them! I really don't want to spend a bunch off money on new containers and nanos, so I thought I might try throwing out a forum post first. I have aGPS, but do not have anything else. Also, if anyone is from IN is an experienced , and would like to teach this middle aged dog some new tricks, please let me know. I do not know exactly what i'm doing as far as hiding caches, so I really need some coaching. Thank you in advance, TimtheEnchanterr
  5. Hello fellow seekers. I am wondering if I team up with another geocacher and find caches with them, is there a way to log that we found it under both accounts at the same time, or do we both have to individually log the find? Thanks as always for the help 8D
  6. Oh, cool. I'll try to make some. Thanks!
  7. Like Lakedawgs said, there are a lot of events scheduled in the Indianapolis area. Each month, we hold GIG (Girls in Geocaching) dinners. These are not restricted to girls attending, we welcome all. The October dinner is the next GIG dinner (hosted by yours truly). It's on 10/25 at the Carrabas off of Southport Rd. at 465. on 10/10, there are three different events going on in the Indy area. Two flash mob events and a lunch (hosted by Lakedawgs). All of these, and more, can be found on the event calendar which is accessed from the home screen at Geocaching.com. (Down near the bottom - click on the link that says "View the Event Calendar".) It's not unusual for cachers to band together to seek out some caches after an event. It will also give you opportunity to meet up with some experienced cachers to see how they do it. Edited to fix a stupid typo. Great, thanks a lot for the info about the calendar. Never knew it existed At risk of sounding green, what the heck is "flash mob?"
  8. Thanks. Where is the best place to buy a used one? I hate buying electronics off of ebay or craigslist because you never know what your getting. Is there a such thing as a geocaching gear website? I know there is a main site off of geocaching.com, but they don't sell used stuff.
  9. Sounds like a lot of fun! I am thinking about coming. My question is...If one does not own a GPS, can they still participate in the hunts? If so, I will more than likely be there
  10. Hello Indiana cachers! I still have yet to find anyone to help me hide my first cache and show me how its done, so I will try this method There are a couple of caches around that have obviously been muggled for a while, and the owner has yet to replace them. I see that there are certain caches that have been adopted. How does one go about adopting a cache? I thought if I adopted one, that I can at least sort of be able to say that I have gotten to hide a cache Anyway, if anyone knows how this is done, please help me out. And also, if anyone is in the Knightstown/Greenfield area and would like to show me how to actually hide my own cache, I will be glad to hear from you as well. Happy hunting
  11. Hello all! I've been caching for almost a year with just my wife and I. We would like to see if there is anyone in the Knightstown area that would like to go caching with a couple of greenhands. Also, I am wanting to find someone with a GPS that can help me hide my first cache and show me how its done. I've just been zooming in with the google map satellite picture and going by memory with decent success. Hopefully, I will be able to afford on someday Thanks!
  12. Hey Jaypit! I am fairly new to geocaching but my wife and I really enjoy it! I have even a few of yours I believe Anyway, I have been doing it without a GPS 'cause I cannot afford one right now. Just been zooming in on google maps and going by memory semi-successfully. Anyway, I have been looking for someone with a GPS who can help me hide my first cache. Would you be willing to take me 'under your wing' and show me how it's done? Do you know anyone who would if not? Thanks!
