  3. I read a book by David Morrell called 'Scavenger', about a deadly treasure hunt using geocaching themes. He even gave Geocaching.com a plug in the story! By the way, David Morrell was the author who gave the world Rambo!
  4. Thanks for the info. I've just started and am at that stage where I'm not sure if it's me or the machine! Looking forward to getting lots of caches, though!
  5. Hi Folks, I'm new to geocaching and have just purchased a Garmin GPS60. I am really pleased with the results I get with it but I have a bit of trouble entering info into the notes section when I try and mark a waypoint. The default is the date and time which shows as soon as the mark button is pressed, but when I try and add any more data it won't let me add any more than 12 characters. This only fills half the available space in the notes window. I've checked the manual but can't find anything about this. Anybody know if I can add more characters?
  6. [and by the time I got there all I found was old, dried, unidentifiable remains.] I hope you're talking about the mushrooms and not the geocachers!!!
  7. I suspect it may be some time before I can log that particuar cache!
  8. I wouldn't worry about being stung or bitten by one of those. I'd worry about being carried off by it!! Thankfully we don't have anythings like that over here in Scotland
  9. Hi everyone, another newbie to help out here! I was wondering what I should set the North setting on my Garmin GPS60 to for geocaching. Should I set it to true, magnetic or grid North, and would it depend on whether I would be using it with a compass? Cheers.
