  1. Ouch! Did you wade out there to get it?
  2. If I wasn't on-call and in so much pain, I'd love to reproduce the Wenatchee CM...another time... It'd be a blast, but I know what you mean. Since RouteMonkey joined the Marine Corps, I'm needing a new navigator.
  3. Anybody from the eastside up for a 1/2 cache machine? I was planning to go to WWCM, but can't get out of my other responsibilities on Friday evening. I've been waiting to know for sure before posting on the event page. That being said, I'm strongly considering driving over on Saturday morning for the last half of the machine and dinner, returning to the eastside afterwards. Can meet up at the Issaquah Highlands Park and Ride, or the Issaquah Park and Ride, I'm thinking 8AM or so. (I'm in Sammamish.) Got room for 1 comfortably, 2 if one rides in the extended cab. (F150 pickup) Anybody want to ride along for what is going to be a long (fun) day? Guess I'll cross post to the event page too. Email me form the profile page. First come, first served. 4. And to expand on that just a little bit, I'll be posting the final route on Monday night. Any changes after that will be announced at the pre-event dinner/poker night, and after I get knocked out of the poker tournament and sulk back to the hotel, I'll post those last minute changes here, too. If anyone thinks they'd find the Streets & Trips 2009 .EST file helpful, let me know. It's not backwards compatible with any previous version of S&T, and I don't know that it can be read by any other software. Thanks as always, jholly, for making this bookmark list available. Travis; I for one would like to have a copy of the .EST file. McLaughlin's Marauders
  5. If you haven't already, you should contact some of the local area clubs. There are several in the area; Snoqualmie Valley Amateur Radio Club (probably closest) Redmond ARES Issaquah ARC SARGe ( Sammamish ) NBAT ( North Bend ) there are more, but these are the closest. All have websites, and there's probably a cacher or two amongst the members. McLaughlin's Marauders K8DN
  6. Darn, I'll not be in town on the 17th either... I'm sending Mrs. Marauder along as a proxy. Sent the message off to CENT5, but I'm out on Saturday morning. Anyway, say hi to Mrs. Marauder, and make her feel welcome....
  7. WOW! RWW, Tough break (pun intended) I hope your convalescence goes quickly, and doesn't cause too much of a hardship. Hope you're not left handed...
  8. Looks like the Marauders have some free time. RouteMonkey and I are driving up from Sammamish early in the am. See you there.
  9. Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) Boy, dating myself
  10. Good hiking boots are arguably one of the most important piece of outdoor gear you will own. Get the best boots you can find. As an adult, (an assumption on my part) your feet probably won't grow any more, at least mine haven't. So I can justify spending more and getting the best quality, knowing I can use them till they wear out. I have a bad ankle, so I found a pair of mountaineering boots with better than average ankle support at REI, and they've served me faithfully for years. REI, you can't go wrong there.
  11. I have considered this as well. A caching road trip to a place I've never been, but always wanted to go. And it'll be daylight for the whole time. I'd seriously consider paying for myself, depending on costs of course. That is in case I don't win...
  12. I claimed #21 tonight from Pirates of the Kent-Meridian: CurseOfTheGreenBox, seemed kinda fitting somehow..... If TB's will have to be presented to be put in the pot, sounds like incentive to hang onto it, till Aug 17th at least . And obviously you must be present at the drawing to win a spot. It's your game, what's the call on the passing on of the bug?
  13. I submitted a new cache, and got this message: An Error Has Occured System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file "e:\caches\xml\226191\226191.xml" because it is being used by another process. at Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.LateBinding.InternalLateCall(Object o, Type objType, String name, Object[] args, String[] paramnames, Boolean[] CopyBack, Boolean IgnoreReturn) at Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.LateBinding.LateCall(Object o, Type objType, String name, Object[] args, String[] paramnames, Boolean[] CopyBack) at Geocaching.Geocache.SaveCacheToDisk(Int64 CacheID, DataSet& CacheData) at Geocaching.Geocache.GetCacheData(Guid CacheGUID, Boolean CheckForUpdates) at Geocaching.cacheService.GetGeocacheDataByGUID(Guid CacheGUID, Boolean CheckForUpdates) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- Click icon to download:
  14. He's officially known as RouteMonkey now....
  15. Just an FYI; I moved from Detroit to Seattle in 1990. We drove the whole I-90 thing and it was 2500 miles and took 5 days. It could probably be done much faster, but you probably won't have time for many caches. Plan on the drive taking a week, and have fun on the way.
  16. I'll take 4/30/2005 if nobody has that yet....... GO BLUE! (kinda reminds me of my Michigan days)
  17. We are taking the "wait and see" approach. Our plan is to leave after school (a requirement from Mrs. Marauder) and take the best route available at the time. MapPoint shows the routes from Issaquah: US2 (133 Miles) I-90 to 97 (134 Miles) I-90 to the river and up (181 miles) Leaving after school, and anticipating a 3 hour drive (worst case), I doubt that we'll have time to cache much on the way, and make the dinner at Alfy's. If anyone is leaving the Greater Seattle area in the neighborhood of 3-4PM, and wishes to caravan over, drop us a line, and we can exchange cell phone numbers. Otherwise, we'll be monitoring FRS Ch2. 18. Count on 2 for the Marauders for Friday and Saturday Dinners. Looking forward to it!
  19. I have a business trip to Orlando this weekend. I'm arriving Sunday very early, and have all day to cache. The meeting is actually Monday, but I wanted to get some time to relax first. What are the "Not To Miss" caches in the area? Anyone want to get together for a day of caching with an out of towner? Drop me a line.
  20. Any time LB. What a great set of hides there. I only got 40 and there must be at least that many more to do. I'm in too. Got skunked out on "Galoping Gertie" due to tides. Only got to about half of the caches on the route. I'm up for a Mini-Machine to finish out the list...
  21. Ok count me in too. Compaq iPAQ 3670
  22. We had 29 on our track. What a great time, we may do it again just for the fun of it!
  23. Click the Contact Us and send a message. Seth! can look it up for you. It's *supposed* to be your Geocaching name. I'd guess at "Team SuperGenius" for you. But, you probably already tried that. As always, Your mileage may vary... Bob McLaughlin's Marauders
  24. Darn, looks like I got over-Ruled. Don't wait for me, I can't make it. Have fun...
