  1. Greetings I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day. I'm having trouble with my brand new Garmin 60 CSx unit. It will not turn on, and yes, I have fresh batteries in it, but still no start-up. I believe the unit has a bad on/off button. Has anyone else had this problem? I thought I read someone else on the forum taking about the little rubber covered buttons on Garmin units sometime go bad. I bought the unit brand new on Amazon.com in Feb. 2008, (less than 90 days ago) and I'm having a heck of a time getting any help from them. If the item bought on Amazon, is over 30 days old you can not do a return. so I had to send a regular e-mail to Amazon directly.Good thing I still had the Order number. All I want is an exact exchange Wish me luck. Gadget Man My Kids May Be Smarter Than I, But I Know More.
  2. Thanks to everyone who replyed, I appreciate your thoughts and your time. Now I know to buy street maps and topo maps and load them at the same time. Ok, here I go on a differant treasure hunt, the hunt for the best deal on the software I need. If anyone has a link to a good retailer, let me know. 3. Greetings from a Newbie in Minnesota. Great site, I signed up as a Premium Member, why not, the $30.00 a year is cheap for this easy access to all the cach sites. Ok, enough buttering you guys up...I need help with map software, like what do I have buy for my new Garmin Csx unit???? To tell the truth my Garmin isn't even here yet, I ordered it from Amazon, and it will be delivered next week. But I want to get started right away, and order whatever I need. Do I have to buy the Topo maps and the street maps? I do want to use my GPS for both street navigation and Geocaching. If someone can point me in the right direction, It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mr. Gadget Man
  4. Greeting to all you other Minnesotans. I'm just getting into Geocaching, haven't even gotten my new Garmin 60 CSX yet, it's to be here from Amazon next week. I signed up as a Premium Member here to get the automatic loads into my Garmin. Even without that, I think $30.00 a year is cheap for this easy acsess to all the caches. I live in Elk River MN. Looking forward to geting out there and finding some caches. I have already purchased a few Travel Bugs, we are going on vacation to Florida in March, so I'd love to put one out down there and see if it can make it back home. This is my first post on this forum, I figured the best thing to do was introduce myself to others I may meet out in the field. Mr. Gadget Man
