  1. Not directly stat related - but keeping all SA Challenge caches on record (thanks to TechnoNut)
  2. Thanks to a TechnoNut/carbon Hunter collaboration: Please list any we may have missed here.
  3. Based on the fact that Challenge caches must have "Challenge" in the cache name, and be listed as a Mystery Cache, I did a quick lookup in GSAK, threw out the obviously incorrect ones. and was left with these 44. There "may" be one or two that do not conform to the rules above, but apart from checking through 11000 caches, I have no idea of how to find them. Here is the bookmark list - SA Challenge Caches Hope that works An image is here - Image PT Awesome - now you leave me the task of trolling through them and making a Word document with their requirements []
  4. Is there a Bookmark list - or a table with all the Challenge Caches in South Africa and their requirements?
  5. These 2 stats seems to go hand in hand - more caches - more maintenance. another factor to remember - is that one normally oly places a "Owner Maintenance" log if there was a "Needs Maintenance" log posted - not for normal run of the mill maintenance that happens anyway.
  6. Here is another stat that was surprising - there are not a huge number of cachers with lots of hides!!!!I really thought we had more cachers that have hidden more than 100 caches! Also - a few of these teams have a number of caches in other countries (e.g. Carbon Hunter, SawaSawa, cincol, Crystal Fairy) Louwtjie & Vroutjie 357 Technonut 300 Cincol 288 SawaSawa 275 Fish Eagle 263 Wazat 229 GEO936 223 PieterM 209 Crystal Fairy 208 LeoSt 196 iPajero 195 NotBlonde 159 HeinG 152 paddawan 141 Carbon Hunter 134 weeman078 133 Louise_gerhard 119 SKATTIE@1 117 dakardrix 116 Noddy 110 Wh00 106 cache-fan 103 pannie&medusa 103 Cism 103
  7. 8. Another interesting set of stats from the provinces: Favouritie Points awarded (per Province) - as of 14 July 2015: #1 Western Cape 9859 (31.9% of total for SA) #2 Gauteng 8326 (27.0%) #3 KwaZulu Natal 4907 (15.9%) #4 Eastern Cape 3372 (10.9%) #5 Mpumalanga 1516 (4.9%) #6 Free State 1484 (4.8%) #7 North West 755 (2.5%) #8 Limpopo 331 (1.1%) #9 Northern Cape (324 (1.0%)
  9. Yep - for convenience. Please put forward names and ;locations of the other series/geoart. I'm sure Danie will do his magic on them - and I can add to the table. Suggestions are welsomed
  10. A little late for an event - but on 24 July - Earthcaches will be 10 years old in South Africa Vredefort dome EC so thanks Team BJBez

  12. Hi Danie - I have also heard of the Parow Arrow geoart? And then there were a few Power trails north of durban - but most got archived?
  13. Thanks Danie - just a Table to compare them together
  14. Danie Could you do the Pannie & Medusa 50 in Pta too?
  15. For the stats thread too: SA has just reached 287 active Earthcaches! Keep them coming - 300 is just around the corner. Western Cape remain the leading province - and actually extend their lead. a rough indicator: ECs by Prov 1 Western Cape 58 2 Eastern Cape 49 3 Kwazulu Natal 47 4 Gauteng 42 5 Mpumalanga 41 6 Northern Cape 20 7 Limpopo 17 8 North West 8 9 Free State 4
  16. Danie - could you do a snap shot of the new(ish) KZN ABC geoart? Still very new - and likely to have far fewer numbers - but will be good for comaprison over time. I am pleased to see the Pretoria geoart has a higher number of FPs awarded. Good sign. And similarly the longevity is better than the GPS. I suppose GPS was exactly that - small nondescript caches for numbers (love them or hate them).
  17. I thin Pi Day (with 2 souvenirs) at end March 15 - and International Geocaching Day (and the 7 souvenirs of August) may also have helped. I'm sure these Road Trips will also increase interest in the next few weeks. i'm surprised the MEGA did not show in a higher spike in Oct.
  18. DANIE YOU ROCK It is really only this thread that keeps the forums going currently - this is a wealth of info and an absolute pleasure to read and look forward to your next riveting installment. Please keep it up. Even the Earthcache stats you provided internationally are the best I've seen. Great stuff!
  19. PieterM A lot of my finds (especially the Earthcache stats which are close to my heart) are also out of Africa. These stats of Danie are great showing African stats. I just add a note below in a reply normally of I want to add and enhance his stats.
  20. Great stuff to the Reviewers! Keep it up
  21. Madeira and Canary Islands have a lot of caches - very popular with the EU tourists.
  22. For the stats thread too: SA has just reached 281 active Earthcaches! Keep them coming - 300 is just around the corner.
