  1. Kinda slow on the draw, but are there going to be anymore of these produced, or am I just out of luck on this coin?
  2. OK, here goes. This one still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. My mountain bike became my sole source of transportation for many years as I lived in a small town on a little island just south of Alaska. When I was still living at home my younger brother asked to borrow it to make a run to the store and as a good brother should I obliged him. The next day I went to hop on my wheels and found that the tire was flat. I gave my brother the lecture about returning a borrowed item in the same condition as it was lent . Not being overly mechanically inclined it took him several hours to fix the flat including many trips into the house to ask me for help. When he finally completed the task it was after supper and raining out so the bike sat behind the house until the next morning, a monday. Next morning, I hopped on my bike and took off for work at my usual breakneck speed. I raced across the road from my house and lifted my front wheel to jump the curb. This is the moment that I realized the newly repaired wheel had not actually been tightened back onto the forks. I remember looking down at the curb and seeing the wheel slip away from my bike and I came crashing down face first onto the sidewalk. I was wearing a tshirt and put my arms out to break my fall. When I got up from the tangled mess I had blood coursing down my forearms where the pavement had chewed all the flesh away. I remember dragging what was left of my bike home with a very angry look on my face and realizing that the puff of smoke over the hill in the backyard was the dust from the heels of my brother that had witnessed the tragedy from our kitchen window. Lesson learned: Never let another person wrench your bike. Better still, never lend it out if you don't want it broke. Next time ... Kevin learns that a road bike is not a good substitute for bush crashing. Stay tuned!
  3. You wouldn't happen to have that in a pdf. format would you? I can't open these documents.
  4. I'm sure this has been requested a million times but where can I go to get a printout of log sheets and the other papers that acompany a cache like the "note to the muggles" (you hve just found a geocache ...)? Has anyone ever sen a printable 'official geocache' sticker for the outside of the cache container? Thanks for any help you can give me.
  5. Where I am in Canada, 90 % of all the micro's are in spruce trees. I found it quite helpful if I lay on my back under the tree and view the branches from the bottom as they are usually clipped/hung underneath them.
  6. Yes it's cachemate that I am using. w€ill this just delete the one cache? I'd like to 'delete all found caches' if possible. Way less time consuming than one at a time.
  7. If there is anyone out there with a Z22, I was wondering if there is a way to delete my caches once I have marked them found. Anyone?????
  8. Well thats good to hear. I've never bought lke this before so I guess we'll get an email later today or tomorrow from paypal?

  13. Sorry for sounding like an idiot but all he needs is my email adress that paypal has? And paypal is cool with that or do they just email me and ask if the purchase is approved? There's no account # or anything?
  14. Do I just send the money straight from paypal to the email address?
  15. Exactly what paypal information do you mean? I have paypal but have never purchased exept thru ebay or a coin store? Help please ....
  16. Recently I took a trip to British Columbia (last week) and being relatively new to this sport, learned how to cache along a route and set out. For those of you that are unfamiliar with BC, it can be a very wet province. This was quite obvious when I anxiously started to cache in another province for the first time. The caches were so wet I couldn't sign some of the log books. I actually had to pour water out of some. Of the 20 or so caches I found, the only ones that contained the bugs or coins that were supposed to be inside were the TB hotels. Actualy, I don't think I even recovered a single coin. And this is MY adult swag. I enjoy locating bugs and coins, and try to move them only towards their destination, if they have one. Most swag is garbage and I'll just take it out and throw it away. I DO carry some novel trade items to reward a nice cache, or if I find something I might like to keep. On my short excursion here are a few of the 'non family friendly' items I removed from some BC caches: -a razor blade knife -a rusty fishing lure, complete with hook -a condom -a broken glass ornament -a chocolate bar (friendly enough, but apparntly a no-no) -a half smoked joint (BC's finest I'm sure) I love the sport and will continue to participate and slowly clean up the caches of junk as I go. Like I said, the movement of bugs and coin is enough to reward me, but it just irks me when someone removes one from a cache and doesn't record it. Puzle caches are also part of the adult thing toofor me too. Did I whine enough?
  17. Which coin is it? Several of the SoCalgeocoin codes are at www.coincodes.com Thanks a bunch. It was there so all is good. Now I can get back out there.
  18. OK, seems I'm in a bit of a pickle. I bought some geocoins from SoCal geocoins a few months back and have just now decided to activate one. Seems that they send you the code with the coins, a fact that I was ignorant to, and just threw away any receipts/paper that may have accompanied the coins. The only info that I can find says I have to contact SoCal to get the code but the only email contact address I have for them, off their site, seems to be a bad addy. They have no phone number and I can't get it from phone info. I could write them snail mail but that may take weeks and I wanted to activate a coin to celebrate my 100th cache (I'm at 98). Is there any other way I can get a code? Does anyone know how to contact SoCal? Help ...
  19. OK, so I opened the 'open ' icon on GSAK and it opens a window that says "load GPX/LOC/ZIP File" but it doesn't give me any options to send t to my GPSr. Am I in the wrong window?
  20. OK, here's the problem - I have a palm Z22 and a Garmin 60Csx. I am planning a trip next week and successfully made a pockt query 'along a route'. I have downloaded the query onto my palm and all is good there. My question is now that I have all the info on my palm, how can I mass install all the waypoints/coords onto my GPSr ? Do I just have to load them individually thru geocaching.com? This could take me the rest of my life as there are approx. 550 waypoints. There must be a way to load them in a batch or something. Help is appreciated, thanks.
  21. I have actually bought most of my geocaching stuff from Landsharkz in Vancouver, and my coins from Socal geocoins.
