  1. And here I thought someone was bumping this old thread to be funny with the Rougue Reviewer thread in play. But it turns out this is a great bump. That is absolutely awesome! Congratulations. Now seeing as you're Canadian, could you go after 4.5 Lb. Walleye??? Over 8 years and no FTF. Despite all the notes posted, I dont think Connie is ever really going to get there. No problem, I'll try and get out there this afternoon, it's only 2795.6km from my home coordinates....
  2. We got the FTF on GCK9N9 earlier this year. 1668 days, or 4 yrs, 6 months and 28 days after it was hidden. Thought that was pretty good until I read the posts about some of the others.....
  3. Is it this one? GCJC6Z Diamond in the Rough It mentions in the description that the original arrow is gone. I haven't done this one myself, but it's only a couple hours away and sounds interesting. I might have to try it while on holidays.
  4. gpscentral.ca is based in Calgary and carries a wide variety of geocaching products. We've bought several things from them including a gps, RAM mount and geocaching stuff. Service has been good, fast shipping and resonable prices. We've also used worldcaching.com because they're close to us so we don't have to get the stuff shipped. Good service from them also.
  5. When I first started, it was the technology of the GPS that really intrigued me, and geocaching was a good way to explore it a bit more. Now, I like the places it takes me and the exercise that my wife and I get while caching. We took a trip down the Oregon coast last year and found TONS of caches. Lots of good quality, well maintained caches too and in places we probably never would have gone to if not for caching. This past weekend, we went and got 5 caches in our area that we had on the todo list for a while. Total distance travelled on foot - over 10 kilometres!
  6. You could always just wait until the regulars find and log the cache and then go and place a FTF prize in for the people who have real jobs...
  7. My wife and I took a trip down the Oregon Coast last fall and had a fantastic time caching there. The local parks and rec department has placed a whack of caches in many of their parks. All of the caches were well maintained, and in interesting places. It got us to visit many locations we would never have gone to as regular tourists. A great idea for any town I think.
  8. Use it all the time as a search and rescue volunteer. Also record tracks on ATV/snowmobile trails and forward them to a group that compiles trail maps.
  9. ditto on the crappy tire purchase for us...duck brand too Me too. Check around though. In the sporting goods section, they only had a 3 metre flatpack for about $5, but had the full roll in the painting section for about $7.
