A traditional cache can be placed there, therefore a virtual is not appropriate.

Yup. If the container is waterproof, 10 feet of snow won't necessitate any cache maintenance, as it probably won't be plundered or otherwise destroyed by the elements.

Plot it out so that the easiest access to the cache takes the cachers past the cabin. You'd get the attention to the site that you want.

  2. Who will start regulating those "library" caches, where you take or leave books? Will someone complaining about finding "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" create a ban on book caches because of the underlying religious tones of the works of CS Lewis?

What's with you guys? Grow up. This is not a place to discuss religion or politics, or other societal issues.

Just reinforces my comments about needing moderation in these forums. Sheesh.

Sorry, "we" should have *been* more careful about WHERE things were "going."

Ouch. Hope you've got things back under control.

If you place something in the cache, you are in the act of caching. If you TNLN, perhaps you're a geoslacker?

They're essentially old-fashioned canning jars, yes.

We tested out a bunch of similarly-shaped containers for use in our planted aquariums' DIY CO2 systems. Briefly, you use the container to mix yeast and sugar with water, and the resulting CO2 bubbles help the plants grow. We were looking for the most air/water-tight container, shaped thusly. The test: Fill it with water, hold it upside down.

The Tupperware spaghetti pasta container kicked butt over any of the WalMart, Target or Fred Meyer stuff we found. Unfortunately none of that stuff is truly water/air-tight since it lacks the rubber gasket/glass seal that Criminal's jar.

the inova and the scorpion use lithium 123 batteries. i buy 20 st s time and they work out to 1.25 a piece. i also got a custom fitted pelican 1020 case for 24 battery storage.

the pelican cases would make good small cache containers.. i get the case for 7$.

I upgraded from the Scorpion to the Stinger, and I miss that little Scorpion. Super bright, but that one hour battery life gets spendy after a while! Good to see that one can buy the batteries in bulk for less now.
