  1. That would still be commercial. Golly, I just wanted to do something fun and nice. I don't see how giving away a T-shirt is commercial. Just ignore my other post.
  2. Wow... almost everyone is older than me.
  3. ...I'm not sure where you are pulling that last statement from. I would presume that each person hiding a cache would put as much effort into the setup/hide regardless of where they happen to be. If they did not have the motivation to make it a good cache, then why on earth would they feel strongly enough to do it in the first place. I can see where Zeevious is coming from. When I think of a cache placed "on-the-go" I picture someone tossing a cache out the window as they are driving down the road. Also, people might just hide caches to increase their numbers. They aren't thinking, "Wow, this is a good spot." They are thinking, "Number 100! woo hoo!"
  4. One man's junk is another man's treasure.
  5. Do those invisible shield things allow you to still use the touch screen? After reading some of these I'm thinking of getting one myself.
  6. I hope some day a cave I slept in and that fishing pole I left out in the middle of nowhere become archaeological finds! I'd have to agree with everyone else. Keep the places a secret.
  7. I just thought this was funny: Those sound like neat little things, but I bought a pack of screen protectors at Best Buy for my GPS and they work just fine. You can get a pack of 20 for $10. They are all one size, but you can cut them to fit the screen. They won't protect against blunt or sharp damage, but they will keep the screen clean and free of scratches.
  8. You know, I don't think I can trust that Vinny guy any more...
  9. I would think the police would just put a waypoint where the signal was and just search from there.
  10. Which cache was it? I'd like to see if I can find it.
  11. After looking through a lot of caches, I found that there are many along trails that I like to hike frequently. This brought up another question that I just had to ask. Has anyone ever gone back to a previous cache that you found? If so, do you log that as another visit (not as a find, of course) or do you just sign the log and move on or do you just make sure that it's still there and in good condition and not do anything?
  12. There's nothing weird about wanting trick-or-treaters to stop by on Halloween.
  13. Sorry for bumping an old post (I think that's more acceptable than making a new post on an old topic). I have a question about this: My mom and I both have separate accounts. Let's say one day I decide to hide my own cache and she's there with me. Could she log the cache as found since she won't get credit for hiding it?
  14. What I don't understand is how the hider expects you to find something like that. The last thing I want to do in the middle of a busy sidewalk is to be seen crawling around on my hands and knees checking the bottoms of benches, especially by our boys in blue.
  15. I'd like to see a Canadian dollar folded like a t-shirt It might look like a Hawaiian t-shirt.
  16. Oh, a Colorado thread! I didn't see this earlier. I posted a question about a Halloween trick-or-treat cache here: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=174869 If anyone is interested let me know. Thanks! (Is it OK for me to post this here? )
  17. Try this site: http://www.easysurf.cc/cnver17.htm#frtoao
  18. Is this cache intended only for rocket scientists?
  19. I'm planning on taking some Halloween stuff to the next item cache I find (no candy, of course). I'm planning on always taking some small holiday themed items with me on cache hunts.
  20. Hello everyone. I'm a new Geocacher in Colorado. I've already found two! Yay! I'd have to say a GPSr is the best toy I've bought since I got my car. Halloween is coming up and my mom (TRose1159, also a new Geocacher) always goes through a lot of trouble to decorate our condo for trick-or-treaters, but we never get any! If I posted the coordinates to my condo, would anyone be interested in stopping by on Halloween for some treats? I know the kids love candy, but I'd also like to have some treats available for the adults. Anyone have any good suggestions?
  21. And the ego when you can't find a stinkin' 1/1 cache!
  22. I think it would be best if country specific guidelines were left to the discretion of the reviewers. There are too many countries and differing rules that a comprehensive guide would be impossible to maintain.
  23. This brings up another point: Maybe a non-geocacher put up a birdhouse next to a cache that was disguised as a birdhouse, trying to create a "community" of birds. If the owner was unaware that this had happened it would not be in the description.
