  1. Leeching (no other peers to upload to) but will seed as soon as done. My computer usually runs 24/7 with utorrent running.
  2. What is fun about geocaching? I understand what it is but don't see the fun in it. It's like an Easter egg hunt right?

  5. I have the Dereelight-CL1H 2.0 Here's a great and friendly flashlight board: http://flashlightnews.net/forum/index.php
  6. Three votes for OR.! So. Washington would be great as well.
  7. I heard of someone getting accuracy of two feet, on the satellite page, while using an external antenna.
  8. Does anyone have any experience with the full shield? Have been reading about this stuff called applesauce polish for ipods. It might work for GPSr also. I'm not looking to restore. I have a brand new 750 and was wondering about the product Shieldzone that was quoted. Specifically this: http://www.shieldzone.com/item_description/GAR750FB.html
  9. Does anyone have any experience with the full shield?
  10. I wouldn't leave it in the car - especially if hiking. I've seen three different cases for Nuvis. One was made of thick silicon but I can't remember the name.
  11. nope, and I didn't even know there was a google earth browser.
  12. Hello. I don't know much about geocaching. I entered a cache site into my Nuvi just to see how it was done. Several days later I opened Google Earth for the first time in months. When I looked around I was surprised to see the cache location listed. How did it get there?
  13. I think I would get the Deloren, or whatever it's called, If the price is similar. But then, I heard they are slow.
  14. Ok the best I was seeing was $459 but here's a place with free shipping for $449.00 http://us-dc1-order.store.yahoo.net/cgi-bi...sF8WKRQ8A0fMw--
  15. Thanks for responding. I figure for less than the price of a Nuvi750, I can have the best of both worlds - well not the best but more features that only an automotive and a handheld can provide. Can I get a color screen handheld for less than $150? Heck, maybe i'll even try that geocaching game/thing/whatever. *edit - ok how about the etrax legend at costco for $100?
  16. Hello. I have a Nuvi650 which doesn't have the capability to provide tracks to follow the route back to where I came from. A workaround would be to make waypoints but that is such a pain to do while driving. Rather than spend $150+ more for a Nuvi750 (If I return the 650), would it be better to just get a handheld so that when I drive off road or hike, I can make breadcrumb trails back to civilization? If so, which handheld will let me do so at a bargain price?
  17. MP3 isn't a multimedia format is it? As far as I know, it's only music. Being able to watch AVI files would be great.
  18. I will never need the entire north America. They should update by region such as west coast or by time zone. I really don't have a lot of use for my Nuvi - except when I go off road. It's too bad there isn't a multimedia player as well.
  19. The nuvi maps are updated via the MapSource update DVD and are loaded directly on the unit. SD cards can be used for supplemental maps. Supplemental maps can also be loaded onto the unit as long as you have enough space left. The firmware can be updated via WebUpdater. So we have to buy the updates? I won't be doing that for a while since most of the streets I travel are already there. I have City Nav North NT 2008, is there a CNNNT2008v2.0?
  20. I loaded TOPO 2008 and 24k west via Mapsource into the Nuvi memory. The pre-loaded map updates via WebUpdater.
  21. will they get anymore? The 650 is in stock again for $299. just ordered one for myself. Deal goes until 12/10 Are you able to open gpx files using the nuvi 650? How are the caches displayed? Treasure chest? I've been wanting to buy an auto gps to get me close to ground zero then use my handheld the rest of the way. I just don't want to buy a gps that won't open and display gpx files. Thanks! I received my nuvi 650 yesterday! Costco extended the $299 sale until December 15th for those of you still interested. I guess that answers your question: "I just don't want to buy a gps that won't open and display gpx files"
  22. I just tried that plugin and my computer would not recognize the GPS. I tried rebooting and installing Garmin USB drivers but it would not. I had to restore yesterday's copy of my registry to return to normal.
  23. Are they able to crack the security code? This is for when I leave my car. I always take my GPS with me though.
  24. I set the 650 on pedestrian/off-road and used the TOPO 2008 map. Using city navigator, there is nothing to see but white screen. The 650 does have has direct coordinate entry but then, so does the 250w This is at 0.5M but it will only scale down to 120ft where the 250w will scale to 80 ft.
