  1. When I open the link "View larger map" the URL is crazy! I used to be able to see the original location and the corrected location with a line between them. Now GME script wont even start Edit Okei, my bad. The pop - field has been there earlier, too. GME just didn't show it. So the problem is that this particular cache produces something, that stops GME script running. So I'm not at all sure whether this is related to the new release or if the cache listing produces something that breaks GME? Some other caches with corrected coordinates seem to work as previously. /Edit ------------------------------------------- The new URL is http://www.geocaching.com/map/default.aspx?lat=61.06000&lng=24.39000&pop=eyJwwcvtyioIjpbeyJsYXQiOjYxLjA2MTksImxuZyI6MjQuMzkxNDcsInR5cGUiOjgsIm5hbWUiOiJLZXJ0YXVzaGFyam9pdHVza%2BR0a%2FYiLCJpc1VzZXJEZWZpbmVkIjp0cnVlLCJuZXdMYXRMbmciOls2MS4wNjEcvtuij2NjY2NjY2NjY2Nl0sIm9sZExhdExuZyI6WzYxLjA2MzEsMjQuMzkwNDVdLCJvbGRMYXRMbmdEaXNwbGF5IjoiTiA2MbAgMDMuNzg2JyBFIDAyNLAgMjMuNDI3JyJ9XSwiYWRkaXRpb25hbCI6W3sibGF0IjcvftyuioC4zOTE2NywidHlwZSI6MjE3LCJuYW1lIjoiSXNvbXBpIHBhcmtraXBhaWtrYSAoc3Vvc2l0dXMpICggUGFya2luZyBBcmVhICkiLCJwZiI6IlAxIn0seyJsYXQiOjYxLjA2MzQyLCJsbmciOjI0LjM4ODU4LCJ0eXBlIjoyMTcsIm5hbWUiOiJSYXZpbnRvbGFuIHBhcmtraXBhaWtrYSAoIFBhcmtpbmcgQXJlYSApIiwicGYiOiJQMiJ9XX0%3D The pop field contains base64 coded info about the old and new location plus additional waypoints. (I destroyed the contents, so I wouldn't reveal the mystery solution). Why is it encoded like this?
  2. As someone that writes code for a living it's not that simple. First of all, every user profile would have to contain a field which indicates whether one wants "Recently Viewed Caches" displayed. The requires a database change and likely database access code to persist that information. The display layer would also have to be changed to test the value of that field in order to determine which the list of caches should be displayed or not. Well, that was already implemented. And then they took it away with a snap! So how hard could it be to bring it back?
  3. I have second hand info, that the device will not show caches if they are far (> 200km, 140mi ?) away. So if you're planning a trip, this could happen.
  4. The font in the public profile is larger. Gee whiz!
  5. Has anyone noticed any changes? I didn't see any of the recent changes "fixed" and nothing else seemed to change.
  6. I almost always fail in conveying my message to you. We are too different from each other in almost every aspect. So would it be possible that you kindly drop the subject, thank you!
  7. I once had a very pleasant afternoon when two fellow cachers saw a log I had written, realised I was staying at the same hotel and used our profile picture to find us in a crowd. The fact that the profile picture was located at the top of the page made this easy for them. I want my profile picture back. Maybe Moun10Bike could offer some HTML which will put a picture back in the top right corner without shoving the rest of the profile data further down the page. Thanks Tony Look at my profile. I've moved my profile picture up and set it as big as possible without overwriting other things. Hey! That works, thanx! Just to explain, I put this at the beginning of my bio: <div style="position:relative; top:-280px; left:597px"> <a href="https://www.geocaching.com/myaccount/settings/profile"> <img src="http://imgcdn.geocaching.com/user/your-image-url-here.jpg" width="175" border="0" /></a></div>
  8. Btw There seems to be something wrong with http://yak-web.hq.Groundspeak.biz/GC/public/style_images/master/... My browser just keeps trying to load the images from this address... and nothing is received?
  9. Nope, I noticed this too a long time ago. I tried to reproduce the situation by viewing a cache on the list of five with c:geo, but that didn't reduce the list. But there certainly exists a condition where five < 5.
  10. Newest link has also disappeared in case the target was a whole country (although Finland is smaller than some of the states in US). I wish this could be brought back, thanks.
  11. There was a new release of the website yesterday. Maybe you should try restarting the browser and /or clearing cookies for geocaching.com?
  12. It's been updated at least once, but the only info I have is when it was last mentioned : Suggested caches include this filtering: ... •Caches without NM or NA logs ... - With 'em still able to find 2/3s, looks like puzzles and multis may be a good bet. Oh, and pmo... Why not log NM with a note saying this is just to keep off intro app users? The red cross will not deter experienced cachers, unless there's a string of DNFs.
  13. This has been suggested in bulk delete visited logs But the idea of filtering is buried in there, somewhere. So just a simple setting for each owned trackable: show/hide visited logs.
  14. I have high hopes, but if it's only tick boxes for notifications and "tip & tricks", I feel let down
  15. I just received an email with subject: "Owner Notification: Raitti (tai lefti) (GC4PT0J) has a new Found it log from G_Cacher" I'm moving the logs into a specific folder based on the subject containing "[LOG]". Shall I change the rule or should I wait until this new notification has settled?

  18. Because all letterboxes need to have the final coords posted. So nowadays people just want to change the final coords off jump street and skip all that "letter boxing" to get straight to the final To me this strikes as lazy. If I need coords added, I just add a wpt. Easy to do on every device I own. Like, so freakin easy that having GS implement this seems like a crazy waste of time and valuable resources. But hey, that's just me. At least in my neighborhood letterbox hybrids usually can be solved as mystery cache, too. About the work load on GS, they just need to remove the code, that checks weather a cache type is eligible for corrected coordinates. This would apply for all current and future cache types.
  19. Oh That announcement was unread by me, shows how often I follow that forum.
  20. Quote from Announcements: "On Tuesday, March 5th at 8pm PST (GMT -8) Geocaching.com and the Geocaching Live API will be offline for approximately 5 hours while we perform a required database conversion." March 5th 10pm is the time right now, and things are rolling just fine. Then it dawned upon me that in this year there's no Tuesday, March 5th!! So when will this conversion be?
  21. As pointed out in the release note, just because there is no cache already there is not a guarentee that you can hide a cache there. The reviewer may be aware of locations that are off-limits for some other reason (including land managers who request a separation of more that .1 miles). As the owner of some puzzles, I'm already a bit ticked at the new map. I'm certain that people will use this to find potential spots where the puzzle might be and find my caches that way. The data is already available, but displaying it this way encourages people to use it to bypass solving of puzzles. Well, I checked the new map and it seems that none of my puzzles or multis were shown. Or anybody else's. So seems that it only indicates readily available locations, there's already a few tools to draw circles around existing traditional caches. So not a big deal for solving puzzles.
  22. Here's a Pingdom report page, that shows that 18th was not so good with the API. http://status.geocaching.com/
  23. I thought the bug was that PMO caches do not show up at all. Previously they showed up for non premiums when zoomed out past the "personalisation level".
  24. Is there any info of adapting these changes to the GPX files: -customcoords, i.e. corrected coordinates -memberonly -favorites count ?
  25. Ich kann nicht, aber warum willst du das zu tun? Ich, und meistens die andere an dieses forum verstehe und schreibe gern English, bitte.
