I was always told that a 'nigger' was a romany name for a hedghog - the hibernating version of which caused problems when trying to get firewood without disturbing it. Normally, a hedghog would have been eaten but during the winter, their body composition becomes more fatty and less palatable. Maybe my father was winding me up but I still have fond memories of this phrase. Andy

I notice from the 'View most recent logs' that Seasider is, at this very minute' updating his latest finds !! Andy

Congratulations. Here's to the next ton that you are going to stuff into your little cheeks (When you have finished with your fiendish plans for that ultimately-frustrating multi !)

Pictures From The Biddestone Cache
The Cuthberts replied to The Wombles's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I thought I'd escaped this one. #18 is me and #15 is Dawn Andy -
A lot of caches around us have a local pub and it is one of our customs to stop and celebrate a find or two with a sandwich and a pint of proper beer. I guess that the pound-coin that we leave sometimes is a 'beer token'. Normally though, it is because we have found something endearing in the cache and haven't got a decent swapsie to hand. As a rule, we don't leave coins but the beer round here is excellent !! Andy

We are near a military 'playground' here and I could just imagine the chaos if we labelled a squaddie's ammo box in his absence. ..... not that the military abandon them of course during their excercises !!
-
No..... Tahiti ! Seriously, speaking of countries, it would be nice to see a flag or location under the avatars. I often cross-reference profiles so I can see where particular phrases or topics are originating. Andy

We don't know whether she will take up caching but we got busted by Camilla Parker-Bowles during a maintenance visit to GCGHEB The cache has been moved slightly just in case she returns and trashes it !
-
Good job you were told what cache container to look for with all that ammo around !!
-
Peter, Your plentiful use of smilies is beginning to look like code !! ??? Not even the excellent Memory Map can help you when confronted by something like this in the pouring rain trying to decipher the coordinates to that final ammo box !!
-
We were kindly pointed in the direction of a 'stencil' font which can be emailed out if required. We have started to spray 'contents harmless' on the sides of the boxes. Being in Wiltshire, which is a big MOD playground, an ammo box with military markings could result in it being reported to the army...... or worse ??!!

Very well done. How do you find time for beer ... that picture must have been a fake !??

We released a salt and pepper set out to get 'married' in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, the cache that the salt shaker was in got busted so we are considering releasing 'The Ex-boyfriend' out to woo the pepper pot. It was working rather well

All the more reason for waiting for that bell to ring Well done

I think you ought to send this pic to the 'Viz - Insincere Smiles' competition. Keep looking at the picture and the smile just seems to drain off the face. Andy

You would probably cringe if you were driving through Bath during rush-hour or on a Saturday ! One wrong move and it's round the one-way system again !! Drop us a line if you want details on anything specific. We are nearby in Lacock. -

We lay claim to hoarding the 'Tigger' bear in the article. (correction..... it's his brother !!) Also agree to more caching in Wiltshire Dave as there is nothing else to do ! -

Etrex yellow for her - iPAQ/Memory map for him In Car navigation by iPAQ/Smart ST Professional which sounds just like Tony Blair. Wine for both on return to base -
.... and don't forget to make an additional note of the tracking number
-
Nice one. I will try this out on Saturday and I WILL remember to update the marks as well this time Andy
-
That's what we love about the 'Nearest Waypoints' on the Etrex. Fire it up and check out the neighbourhood when you find that ideal cache spot. ....well, for publically viewable positions rather than 'approver only' multi-cache coords but it's a start.

Something that bothers me about hiding a cache...
The Cuthberts replied to JamesJM's topic in General geocaching topics
I have a terrible habit when using the Etrex of 'hunching' over it. I normally end up putting the thing on the ground and then watching the DTG decrease until it looks more stable. Sometimes, I get more than 60' difference ! Andy
