  1. Locally we have She Said Yes at the location where the question was popped and She Said I Do at the original location of the church where the marriage took place.
  2. Since I can't get GSAK to work, I use CacheStats at Logic Weave and Its Not About The Numbers. Both are similar but give some 'extras' that the other doesn't. And, yes, you need to be a Premium Member to get the file to load into either of them. -edit for spelling-
  3. Same here. Me too. I've never used PAF or EAO. Add me to this list too.
  4. [ Now on with the topic... Who's children? Mine are usually more interested in the hunt rather than what is at the end. Most of the time we don't trade anyway. We have ever filtered out a SIZE of cache although we have filtered out a cache CATEGORY or two. My thoughts exactly. -edit to correct html prob & for spelling-
  5. I just tried it and found another minor error with it. The page I did the test on showed the cache as being located in the middle of the westbound lanes of an interstate highway about .25 miles from the actual cache and not near the entrance to the park. This is not a great surprise since it is using 'driving directions' and not walking, but walking directions for the same location isn't available. -edit for spelling-
  6. http://www.cacheopedia.com/wiki/Bison_Tube I think I would take a DNA (did not attempt) on the camouflaged one in the pic.
  7. I sure hope someone steps up. I read through it the first time I heard about it and found a lot of useful information. I would love to be the one to take over, but I am too short on time, funds and knowledge to make it last.
  8. Leaving the Mac vs PC debate for another thread on another board, in this case it doesn't matter. Some areas in Google Earth were photographic with a higher resolution than other areas. It appears that larger metro areas have high res pictures while the more rural areas are a 'bit fuzzy.' On a slighly related note, I have also seen some areas where pictures were taken when there was snow on the ground but views of the property next door were taken a couple months later and has green grass. -edit for grammar-
  9. That was my first thought. I have no idea where any payphones are in this area.
  10. Cleveland Metroparks places and maintains a number of caches every year.
  11. Well, I see both as making a mistake. The CO could/should have asked the reviewer to 'hold' the listing and not publish it until the day of the event thereby preventing others from searching before the event. I can't guarantee the reviewer would be able to do it, but atleast it could have been asked. The 'seekers' could/should have accepted the COs request and not searched until the event. But then again, it was a published cache that was available to be found and they were technically correct in searching for it.
  12. Bingo!!! As a CO, I agree completely and would be very appreciative for the assist..... BUT..... there are some that would prefer you do the best you can to sign (either by adding another page, scratching on the very bottom, etc) and leave it there for them to come get. Virtually all the COs that I know would prefer the 'replace & offer to mail' method though.
  13. I haven't seen every container out there, but this quote seems to cover just about anything anybody ever attempted to make 'idiot proof'.
  14. Depends on who the reviewer is I guess? Seems they each have their own view of what the guidelines are to be interpreted. Maybe double backing tape instead of glue would suffice. Just a thought!!! Most of the velcro I have seen has a 'sticky' backing to start with. My initial thought was that you let the reviewer know what you were going to do and the others didn't. I would guess they just said they placed the cache there & made no mention of how it was placed.
  15. Based on the guidelines provided: Cache Sizes These sizes apply to all caches that have a physical container. Micro (35 mm film canister or smaller – less than approximately 3 ounces or .1 L – typically containing only a logbook or a logsheet) Small (sandwich-sized plastic container or similar – less than approximately 1 quart or 1 L – holds trade items as well as a logbook) Regular (plastic container or ammo can about the size of a shoebox) Large (5 gallon/20 L bucket or larger) I would go with 'Small.' It is larger than a 3 ounces but smaller than 1 quart.
  16. I'll jump in before the 'numbers run' people start answering. Last fall our small 'team' (father (over 60), son (over 40) & grandson (teen)) headed out for the day. We went about 95 miles, grabbed 25 caches, lunch, did some family history work and explored a couple new cemeteries. If we had been heading for numbers only we could have easily hit 50 in an area that's not highly saturated. There is an area near here where there are well over 50 caches in a line about 5 miles long. I've seen people hit 70-80 in that area in one day. Looking further, I see that you are pretty close to the high saturation area I was talking about. If you check SR224 in Boardman and Youngstown you will see that very large number can be easy if planned out.
  17. The other picture shows it with the package but doesnt give an idea of the size. Here is what it looks like laying next to a dime.
  18. You can check the glossaries from geocaching.com or from Prime Suspect and they should cover just about any word or abbreviation you may need assistance with. Which brings to mind the old question of 'Why is abbreviation such a long word?' -edit for spelling-
  19. From the 'My Profile' page, in the top right click on 'My Public Profile.' Once there, the 'Edit Your Profile' link is below your name and above the info.
  20. On June 2, 2003, I was number 129604 to sign-up. For various reasons I didn't actually log my first find until June 5, 2007. I wonder what my number would have been if I would have signed up just before I actually started looking?
  21. looks like there are more of us in the 41-50 range again.
  22. Same here except mine are 14 & 12. We decided on seperate accounts for each person because the make up of the group changes all the time. Sometimes I am by myself, sometimes I am with one kid, sometimes the other, etc. This way we can easily see who has found which ones instead of showing 130 'group' finds but one kid has found only 56 of them and the other has found 42 while I have found all 130.
  23. Yes, you will get the GC number at the time you 'save' the information.
  24. You will get the GC number after you fill out and submit the cache form for review. That brings me back to a statement you made in the middle of your information. You will need to 'research' where you are going to place the cache, what type container you are going to use, etc. before submitting the form. Welcome to the fun and good luck with your first hide.
