Safe Caches To Do Alone?
harrogate hunters replied to Chips 'n' Ham's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Yep can do.... now am I quoting that I have been (1) out caching with Leoness or (2) She is sane ! Confusing ! -
There does not seem to be a forum for this county, so I will try here. I am in Venice for less than 24 hours next Thursday, and I do not know the town. I have come up with a couple of caches, I 'could' grab whilst I fly in and out, but this is where you come in... 'I am staying in St Marks square (hotel not a park bench), so does anyone know if I can walk (10-15 minutes) to any of the caches listed ! Who knows the area ?

This morning I was looking up the stats of a fellow cacher, and came accross a link on the stats page for a company selling tags. Is this going to be a way forward for our sport !!! When one of geocachings own rules is no advertising !! Where will it end ? Ammendment after posting: As soon as I clicked on sumit post, my machine automatically put a link on the word tags. Is it therefore just me ! Have I a built in cookie somewhere that automatically makes from words on my web pages to other sites. Can someone please look at the stats page and let me know if the link is on their machine.

Fewston Finders Reach A Ton
harrogate hunters replied to rutson's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I remember the morning that I received an e-mail from them saying 'help - we are new to caching and are trying our first cache' They were having trouble finding my Fewston Reservoir cache. They also placed a note on the page. A few people including Seasider who I spoke to at the time thought that the 'Fewston finders' not finding 'Fewston Reservoir' was a wind up by me !!! No... actually just a couple of novice cachers having problems on their first attempt ! I assume that as 100 has now been logged up they are no so novice any more.... Well done and keep them going..... I will try to keep you foxed !! Harrogate Hunters -
Welcome to the 'Real world'. Some of us only have a GPS ! LOL ! Maybe one day I will enspire and spend some dosh... that way I can make geocaching easy !

I noticed from Seasiders flash map, that all the caches he set up that have now been passed to other 'holders' are now blue again ! Thats a bummer, messes up the 'to do' list !

It puts us all to shame.... and good luck on the 1 cache per day, only 2.74 years to go at one a day to break the record of most caches found (although I must admit this was not done every day !)

harrogate hunters replied to SlytherinAlex's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I would like to volunteer to donate the prize on behalf of me and my business. I shall contact you (Slytherin direct to discuss). For all cachers who wish to donate to Children In Need and can't get to the West Yorkshire event, how about popping round to my At work and play cache, and as well as getting a cache you can donate at my offices, which will be passed on via the West Yorkshire Meet to Children In Need. -

Harrogate Meet Race Tb's......
harrogate hunters replied to harrogate hunters's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Another load of 'cash' changing hands hey !!! Just watch it, I have just upset an Australian cacher who was running riot with MaxKims bug and he finally put it in a cache today with the following message 'Found after a brisk walk through the scrub, via the more direct route from Cohuna. TN, L: TB Yorkshire Meet 2004 # 16 (after a rude email from its Pommie owner). The walk back to the car was much easier, using the track. Thanks to The Smiths for the cache and a great walk - the exercise was all good.' Hope he does not find yours Leoness, as it could end up being a melted dog tag !
