  1. The point is they were his and should remain his when he is unbanned. It would be the honorable thing to do.
  2. So...let me get this straight. There is a personal vendetta that Groundspeak has against Cavvy that only manifests itself before a geocaching event, as if it's a big middle finger to him for whatever reason? Yeah. I never said that it was Groundspeak against Cav Scout. But SOMEONE is making it personal. And yes I think they are giving him the big middle finger by the way they are doing this. I'm done.
  3. Proof of this alleged vendetta? Again, no one has lost anything...go back to those sites and make your own Earthcache and keep people coming. Obviously we can see which side you stand on. I stand on no side. As a casual observer, if I see someone make a claim (i.e., the GS has a vendetta against a person) it stands to reason that proof of such claim should be presented. As it is, you're making baseless accusations. Maybe so, but you can't sit there and tell me that this doesn't look fishy. And it happens EVERY year right before MOGA. There are some of us that are not deaf, dumb, and blind to what is happening here and will not sit here quietly when an unjust has been done. You can defend GS all you want, I have nothing against them at all, but I'm sure I'm on their hitlist now for speaking my mind. I don't even know Cav Scout exept for a brief meet last year. It's personal and it's obvious. Done!!
  4. KK, I think that Geoaware is on our side, but when it comes right down to it, Groundspeak has limited GSA's power or something a few guidline changes ago. You and I know that some types of EC's will no longer be accepted without added geology lessons, like the ones that envolve water springs, which seems both you and I enjoy. Waymarking has a category for these also, I wonder what the new Virtual geocaches will be like when reinstated? Some of the old grandfathered ones that I have logged have no owners, the CO left the game years ago, but the caches still exsist. I agree with claystalker, Cav Scout made the wrong person mad, arrangements could have been made to keep his EC listings, but it is quite obvious that the man has a great passion for EarthCaches, and Groundspeak kicked him where they knew it would hurt. We EarthCachers lost 203 EC listings, but who won the squabble? Was a one year ban too much, or not enough? That's their business, and not ours to know for privacy reasons. Yes Geoaware, the EarthCaching community depends on you. We value your opinion, agree or disagree, but it still has value with us. Maybe not so much with Groundspeak, but as KK requests, please convey our issue here with Groundspeak that we did not like losing that many good EarthCaches. Amen brother, that's all I was trying to say.

  6. But to wait 10 months to do it right before the ban is lifted is CRAP! It's their listing service, and as such can do what they want. When would have been a better time? One month? Two? Five? No matter what time they picked somebody would have complained. If it wasn't a personal vendetta they would have said something at the beginning and let someone adopt them if this was their intention or how their listing service works. My personal opinion. It's too bad it has come to this as the community loses more than CS.

  8. Ya just looks and sounds vindictive to me, archiving all these 2 months before his ban is over. Just one last poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Hope someone wises up and does the right thing.
  9. I'll help out anyway possible, if it be adopting or whatever. Let me know.
  10. I've got a Garmin Etrex that I'll let go for $50.
  11. Wish I'd had your idea for the back when we were designing it. I like it.
  12. I agree. The coins in my collection are unactivated and are for me alone. I could care a less about mileage because they are not going anywhere. The ones I've sent out are for others to discover and move along and if someone steals them, then that's the kind of person they are and would probably steal a sucker from a child. You can't stop ignorance. If you find something in a cache and it's not yours, then it belongs to someone else and you move it along. I have found many neat coins and trackables that I would have liked to keep, but instead searched ebay and other websites to try and find them for my personal collection. Personally I think the whole thing was fine the way it was before the changes.
  13. Nice! Ever think we can get that to happen?
  14. You misunderstand. They cannot collect your trackable unless you specifically mark it as collectible. The default if you do nothing is "non-collectible". Oh ok my mistake.
  15. I really don't like this new feature at all. I understand if it's your own coin collection and you want to keep them from being swiped, but personal trackables like vehicle bugs, patches, etc. could get swiped by some idiot and placed in his collection. So if there is not a way to grab it back what would you do? They should of just put an optional lock that you could put on an item you own so that someone else can't take it. Don't like the idea that anyone can take any bug or coin they find and put it in their own collection. Seems that gives the wrong impression that they can just grab and keep anything they want.
  16. I wondered about someone constantly stealing my truck when I put the decal on there. It hasn't happened yet, but I'm sure it will eventually. It's been on there about a year or so. Think there ought to be a way to lock it so that it can only be discovered and not grabbed from your possession.
  17. I just saw some on the shelf at a local gun shop for $340.00. Oh ya they were full of 45acp ammo too. The can was free!!!
  18. A buddy of mine called me the other day and asked me about this. I told him I've never heard of such a thing, so I started checking into it and couldn't find anything on it. Told him they must have been feeding him some Obama bashing bullcrap. She's probably one of those ones that's running around screaming that they are gonna take away your guns. Some people will believe anything you tell them.
  19. I can understand if it's a friend your watching, getting close to a milestone or something. Otherwise it almost seems like stalking to me. Maybe I don't want some people to know where I've been or at. Although they can look at your recent finds. I'm mixed on this. how do you think clay feels? Now that is funny!!

  21. If your worried about your coins getting stolen I saw this idea a while back that I really liked. Take a picture of your coin then have it laminated. Activate your coin and keep it, send the laminate out in the world. Also saw one that someone added a key ring and TB and you could add your laminated coin to it and send it on. Thought it was a good idea, so now on I'll probably keep my coins at home and send out the clones.
