  1. I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with a thread that won't update??? The Stockton/Modesto thread always comes up February 8th for me as the last post, but always stays on top of the list. I can see there have been new posts in the little preview box, but when I go in, it has not updated. I went in there this morning and posted a message and then the thread updated on my puter, but when I went back this afternoon, my post was gone and I was back to the February 8th date. Can't figure out what is going on. I tried refresh, no help. icon_confused.gif

Just went back again and my post is gone, and it is back to the February 8th post again. Now this is weird.

  3. Hi Tecmage,

Our family did some geocaching in Hawaii while we were there last summer. It is a place we vacation a lot. Bugs are always something to consider while you are there....mosquito's in some places are abundant while in others places (if you have a good ocean breeze) there are none. I would take bug spray with you and use it when needed. There are a lot of great new caches popping up everywhere out on the islands, you will see places you would have otherwise not seen by geocaching. On Maui we visited a micro climate cache on Haleakela (sp). It was amazing. Don't forget to visit Eddie's Nakalele Blowhole Hidout on Maui (it's mine) icon_razz.gif I have a local geocacher babysitting it for me. It gets lots of hits and people really enjoy the view and sights up there. It is a great place to catch a sunset alone. Hope you both enjoy your vacation (how could you do otherwise)! Mahalo!

  5. There seems to be a lot of logs in our area about snakes this season. A cache of mine has a lovely picture of a rattler sharing a path with some local cachers. I was out at another cache last week that had a warning posted about snakes. I didn't see one, but he was about a foot away from the cache several hours later....8 rattles! I would have stopped counting after one. Please please be careful out there. I carry a walking stick and usually poke it in logs before I put my hands in there. Any other good suggestions for avoiding snakes??? I have snake-itis now! icon_eek.gif

  7. I took a hike out to Avery's pond today on a whim. If you get a chance in the next two weeks, go out there. The wild yellow iris and butterflies are abundant out there right now. I have never seen so much wild iris in my life, it surrounds the pond. So many butterflies you walk along trying to stop them from landing on you. I am going out there again Friday to change the cache box to an ammo can cuz the tupperwear top is cracked. icon_wink.gif Please note that the cache has been moved. I moved it today because there was no way to reach the cache without getting in poison oak. It is abundant this year. The cache was moved to the other side of the pond. I also took El Bandito. I have decided to call the owners and see if they would like me to attach a travel bug to him. He has been sitting there a long time.

  9. I guess my vote here will be a little unpopular. I voted to "leave" the log for this simple reason. There are some people out there that can not physically reach caches. Either they have a physical disability or some other reason they cannot reach a cache. For some people it may very well be cheating, for others it is the only way they can play the game. I personally have never logged a cache I haven't visited. (Although, I did spot a yellow jeep the other day and I am thinking about going back and taking a picture if it is still there in front of the house) icon_cool.gif So, my vote is leave it and don't worry about the numbers.
