  1. Yes the caches you have selected and sent to your garmin are likely to be thousands of miles away from where your garmin currently thinks it is. Ie, I live in Ireland, if I download caches from Australia and upload them to the garmin and then look for them I can't see them (I can SEARCH for them though). If I go into GPS simulator mode and move myself to Aus, then I can see them. Hope that helps. Right on! I live in Vancouver but had selected caches near Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic because we will be going there in 3 days for a holiday. I did as you suggested and the caches showed up when I moved my location there! Thank you for thinking outside the box and I now realize I had omitted that little bit of important information. 2. Everything was going so well! I followed the great tutorial on how to install GSAC, POIloader and the macro. I am running Vista Premium Home on new Sony laptop with a Garmin Nuvi 250 (not W). I did a very limited search in GSAC and retreived only 8 caches (Just the right amount for testing!). I then ran them through the macro and used POIloader which saw my 250 and reported that it had successfully transferred 8 caches. After I disconnected the 250 from the laptop, I hit Where to-Extras-Custom POIs and got an error message "No matches found". I used a text editor on the laptop to look directly on the 250 and could see in the Garmin/POI folder a file called POI.GPI which clearly contained the text matching the download I had done. Any thoughts on why I am not seeing the caches in the Custom POI view? Thanks Bill Hughes Vancouver
  3. Following the excellent installation tutorial, everything appeared to be going well. Right up to the point of POILoader (2.5.2) indicating that 8 caches had been transferred (I was very selective for the first time). When I fire up the Garmin 250 and choose Where to-Extras-Custom POIs, I get an error message "No matches found". I have used a text editor to look at the POI file on the 250 from the PC and I can see the code for the GPX file that confirms that the caches are on the Garmin. I am running Vista Premium Home and ensured that the tip on program placement for GSAC was correct. Anybody have any thoughts on why the caches aren't showing? Tbill
  4. I have a Garmin 250. I have saved a set of coordinates as a Favorite. I can now say Go to that favorite and the Garmin will calculate my route. What I would like to do is find out what the actual coordinates are for that saved favorite. So far I cannot see a way of doing this. Anyone have any suggestions? Update Dec 24 Got my answser from GpsPasSion website. Some one there asked the same question. Answer is that you can connect your 250 to your computer via USB and then use Notepad (PC) or Textedit (Mac) to read the gpx file on the Garmin called current under gps folder. Odd thing is that when you let the GPS determine the coordinates and then save those as a Favorite, the coordinates are not displayed on the 250, only the word "Coordinates". If you enter the coordinates via the GO routine, then the coordinates will be displayed on the 250. As I commented in the other forum, IMHO this is a bug in the Nuvi software.
