Here ya go! Funny you should mention Bill. I'm just putting the finishing touches on his website. I'm just giving it a new look, making it a little easier to read. I'm by no means a "webmaster", but I think it came out okay: http://wtetw.com/indexnew.htm It will be up and running in a couple of days. He says to say "hi". Hi. I can only imagine all the caches he's passed by...

Oh sure Harmon, but what happens when you have a particle of preanimate matter caught in the matrix? ... PUD cake is the one true way to enter the realm of enlightenment. Sure...but heaven help you if you get a particle of preanimate PUD cake caught in the matrix! Someone's been watching too much Star Trek II? I love it when Chekov says "Wessels"! Cache long and prosper! D!

Yes...about 8 miles from my memory. I think I still have the trip sheet from the hiking club. You don't need 4x4 to get to the trail head. It's about 2 miles on a dirt road off S-?? just north of Ocotillo. It is off the S2. Here is the area from Google Earth: It looks like you approach the hiking trail from that dirt road that goes NE from the S2. Yes..that's it. Not alot of caches, but the area is georgeous....fossils, mud pots, slot canyon, oyster bed, cool washes, etc etc. Look at Gecko Dad's pics. Well, I was hoping to go out with you guys to my caches, but we're having my youngest's b-day party on that Saturday, she'll be four. I was hoping to replace my caches with ammo boxes. Anyone care to lug them out there for me?? Have fun (without me) , D!

Watching local news reminds of something Kent Brockman once said: "I'm Kent Brockman, on the eleven o'clock news tonight...a certain type of soft drink has been found to be lethal, we won't tell you which one until after sports and the weather with Sonny Storm."

Welcome! You've quite a few caches to find out here. I hope you like puzzles. Hey, sky boo, if ya wanna make some money, you can type in my log entries, it's mostly cut and paste anyway! Team Exclamtion has been talking about an event at the Brew House in La Jolla... Again, welcome! D!

The GeoBabes and their chore-boy Harmon had quite an experience today. Harmon's log had me cracking up so much I changed the name of the cache! Well, more liked added a couple of words... Coronado Pooper-Pump Puzzle Blocker Smell ya later! D!

Sounds good for a night hike.. Can I plant puzzles? Hmmmm...planting puzzles on a night hike sounds like an excellent idea... 'Cuz then you could plant 'em where the sun don't shine! An M&M tube works best for that... well, that's what I heard!

May have found a cache in Tucson mountains?
Duncan! replied to Gilamonster1's topic in West and Southwest
Maybe a peak register? Closest traditional cache is over 2 miles from those coordinates. D! -
I suspect that this is all my fault...for the past year, I had been putting off doing McGinty. As I told Miragee, I wasn't going to do it until the entire grid was filled up. So, after a year of stability on the mountain, I figured that I might as well go ahead and do McGinty. So... ...in the three days before I went, a handful of new caches appeared on McGinty. A handful of new caches appeared the day I went. And I've lost count of the all the caches that have appeared since then. So, if you want to maximize your caching time and not go back repeatedly, the word the wise is to wait until LLOT does an area and then wait 6-8 weeks for the dust to settle. You afraid of a little hike . I went up that dang peak five times in a two-week period. Guess what? I'm not done! I don't believe there's any accounting for insanity! D!

Well, since Harmon hasn't said it yet... Y'all gonna die!!

I believe GoBolts! was very happy with Mapsource's City Navigator: Europe when he went to Norway. I think it was Norway, or Sweden, one of those places. He has a garmin gpsmap 76csx, but it would work just as well on my 60cx I don't know what the other option is, if any. D!
-
Bill, let's put it this way: it ain't McGinty! Seriously, it's very do-able. D!

San Diego area must-do's and power trails?
Duncan! replied to The Bolas Heathens's topic in West and Southwest
One of the originals at Sweetwater: GC7203 There's lots of potential for steep hikes at both MTRP and Sweetwater. If you can, install google earth, it will give you at least an idea of the ups and downs. Cya, D! -
San Diego area must-do's and power trails?
Duncan! replied to The Bolas Heathens's topic in West and Southwest
If you're not hiking at MTRP or Sweetwater Reservoir, I'd suggest starting at Mt Soledad (GCM4X2), then hit UCSD (GCXZDK), then head north up the coast to Oceanside (GCVK78). You could hit quite a few caches and it's a great drive with lots of ocean views. Have fun! D! -
It was a great hike! Jerry, Miragee and I came up with a few ideas for future hikes this year including:Secuan/Wind Caves Gaskill/Lawson Indiana Ed's Eagle Peak Mt. Miguel Fortunas I really really really want to go to Duncan!'s caches at the Domelands. It is my all time favorite Desert hike ( about 8 miles RT) Could you add that to your list? I promise you won't be disappointed. jodi Actually, I seem to remember Domelands being about 5 miles RT. Of course, it could always get up to eight if Paul leads the way! He could also hide a few more along the trail! Picture copyright Team Gecko. If we go to the desert, Paul is NOT leading the way! Where in the desert is Domelands? Just north of Ocotillo. GCHEGV No finders in nearly a year! D!

I bought a 60Cx just for that reason... I got tired of calibrating the compass. Also, I found no use for it. However, when I did have my vista, yes, I turned slowly for 2 complete turns. I just do what the GPSr tells me to. All hail the GPSr. End transmission. D!
