  1. Congratulations GATOULIS Thanks for the cointest Tsun
  2. Still a couple of coins to come in, but this one arrived today, thank you Tsun
  3. Wow that was quick ! I am so glad that they have arrived safe and sound. I just love how you got to include a quill and ink pot to write 'Thank you' - I must learn how to do these things. My Wand doesn't understand modern technology
  4. Today I received two coins from Team Rampant Lion, I was expecting to get their personal coin, but in addition to that they sent me their Event coin that has a Gaelic toast printed on it. Slainte TRL !!!
  5. An envelope full of Spring Sunshine and Rainbow colours, thank you PengoBeky and PengoMommy
  6. I had to go out today before the postman arrived. So when I got home the first thing I did was check the mail and look what was waiting for me, a wonderful cheery card and two lovely coins. Caitlin of Atwell Family personal coin with the cutest bug on it and a Hogswild Geowoodstock 5 T shirt coin. I love the rainbow of colours on this T shirt. Thank you so much PengoMommy and PengoBeky for this lovely sunshine package.
  7. Ok these arrived earlier........... and then came .................. These coins, together with another two coins expected in soon, are the coins I traded for. One coin is not shown, I believe it isn't allowed here, this one I am selling in an effort to recover some of my shipping costs. The package from Tennessee Jed was very generous and most unexpected, he also included several travellers which I hope will give him a splendid tour of Scotland. In addition to our agreed trade Jim & Paula of CinemaBoxers also very kindly sent me their limited edition personal coin, for which I am very grateful, a beautiful coin and a very handsome tribute to Cosmo. Thank you all very much for your trades. I had 50 coins minted and decided to trade 10 of them, the remaining coins are to be gifted, so please - no more trade requests, I hate to disappoint folk. (edit to add Jim, sorry Jim, didn't mean to forget you)
  8. So sorry to read of your loss, and the traumatic time that led up to it. I hope you will take comfort from the memories of happier times shared with your Mother and in time that you will feel that you can celebrate her life and all that she meant to you. It would seem from what you say that the nursing home have been incredibly negligent, taking them to task over it will be testing and require strength, and whilst I would normally err on the side of forgiveness, there are others still in their care. They should be made accountable. I pray that you find the strength and courage to come to terms with your loss, that you persue a course of action through a concern for others and not out of any bitterness. Think deeply, speak gently, my thoughts are with you.
  9. Yet another interesting twist to geocoins. Well done, I do hope I get to have one of these coins, I doubt I shall be able to complete the puzzle but I will most definitely give it a go !
  10. I really like the concept for this coin, and I really hope that you will take this project forward.

  15. A few of these coins have been traded for other special coins that have meaning to me or I feel will have meaning to someone else. About as many again have been gifted for a variety of reasons and a few have made their way into caches to be discovered. With a little organising more should be appearing in Scotland over the coming months. These coins are not trackable but I have used the click2map site to log where they are, you can see them at http://generator.click2map.com/maps/Highla...oin%20Locations check this site out now and again, if a green marker appears against a Waypoint name it means the coin is in that cache waiting to be found. I should like to take this opportunity of thanking those of you that agreed a trade with me, it is very much appreciated, I would also like to say I am sorry to those that were disappointed, I had so many requests, but I hope you will understand the reason I had these coins made and that I had to decide on a limit to the amount of trades I undertook. Happy Caching
  16. I agree with Icydove, dardevle made an apology which is very much appreciated. I think there are a few folks getting cranky at the end of the Winter, dardelve has a new baby girl - for which I send my heartfelt congratulations - I think maybe you have been losing some sleep as well as getting cabin fever! Email me your address dardevle and I will send something in the post to you - its important to always have something to look forward to isn't it. Maybe that's why we keep buying those coins Oh and tight lines (that's a fishy thing for you non fishers).
  17. As many of you have already pointed out in your posts – you are all winners. Unfortunately I’m not able to send everyone a coin and so a decision had to be made. Congratulations go to EMSDanel, courtesy of Hollora – see post #43. We all know of the generosity of those that are regular visitors to this forum, the caring and sharing that goes on. But I felt Hollora’s post articulated all that I value in this game. There are many beyond this forum that make a valuable contribution to the game, and like Dan, they enjoy collecting coins but probably may not have the time or the inclination to participate in the Geocoin Discussion forum. Anyone that positively encourages children out of the house and into the fresh air to discover and learn new things about the real world in which we live gets my vote. A report by Oliver Pergrams, a biologist at the University of Illinois and Patricia Zaradic of the US Environmental Leadership Programme stated “All major lines of evidence point to a general and fundamental shift away from people’s participation in nature-based recreation. The cultural shift away from nature recreation appears to extend outside of the US, and the decline appears to have begun 1981-1991”. I have not read the entire report, but I suspect that a major contribution to this decline is caused by children wanting to watch TV, play on games consoles and sit at their computers, and I don’t think it is just the children that are guilty of this either ! Other research shows that environmentally responsible behaviour results from direct contact with the environment and that people must be exposed to natural areas as children if they are to care about them as adults. Although I stated that there was ‘nothing in it for you’ – I should like to send Hollora a coin also for taking the time to write his entry. Hollora – please email me through my profile with details of your address so that I can get the coins sent out to you. I am making an assumption that you might like to place the coin for EMSDanel to discover in a cache, I’ll leave it up to you to decide how to handle it. To everyone else, many thanks for posting your entries in this thread.
  18. This is going to be a tough decision. Last day for entries........ get your nominations in soon.
  19. Fabulous mission, just what the Doctor ordered for late winter maladies, email sent.
  20. You can't win one of my coins, but you can nominate someone else to get one. Just post why you think they should get a coin, maybe they hid the cache that you had the most fun finding, maybe they created the coin that you treasure most, maybe they did something terrific and you want folks to know about it. No limit to posts, no limit to reasons - but please give a reason for your nomination and any appropriate links. Cointest will be judged on Friday 29th February at 8pm GMT.
  21. Nobody really likes to be criticized, but constructive criticism is useful and you have been given it here in heaps. Take a step back, do some deep breathing and relax. The concensus of opinion tells you that caches with ALR such as yours are not welcome. Writing in capitals has always been considered as shouting, look at any forum guideline notes, look anywhere on the internet about etiquette and you will see that this is so. Occassional use of caps is sometimes used for emphasis, but it is not really necessary if one has expressed oneself clearly. It is sometimes harder to admit one is in the wrong, taking a stance in the belief that you are right and everyone else is in the wrong achieves nothing. I would strongly suggest you remove the additional logging requirements on your cache, if you want to see coins in your cache put your own in there, and state that their mission is to remain in the cache for visitors to discover and enjoy. That to me would seem to be a good compromise all round.
  22. Hoping to have something good to trade for this soon. I will send you an email.
