  1. Congratulation!!! I knew it was only a matter of time....
  2. Congratulations to Team Geo-Rangers and Peasinapod... I'm sure it was a great experience!!!
  3. I did 180 by myself on the power trail outside of Salt Lake City when it first came out... I happened to be in the area for GeoCoinfest and just loaded the caches (no pre-planning) and did the run of 150 caches along the road in about 6 hours.. and then grabbed a few more in the area in an additional 2 hours.... it was definitely a much easier road than the Trail of the Gods....
  4. Just to clarify the stickers. I placed the vast majority of the stickers (probably over 500) on the log sheets personally... For most of the caches, we extracted the log with needle-nose pliers, I placed the sticker on the back of the log, re-inserted the log into the cache and replaced the cache. When the log was so shredded that it would not come out, I pulled enough of the log out of the cache to be stickered, and then pushed it back in. There was 1 cache, one of the large Mortar Tubes, which I did sticker the outside of. This was just prior to midnight, in a very strong wind. I struggled for about a minute trying to open the cache, but it was jammed shut. I was continuing to try to open the cache, as Sandy headed back to the car. On the way back to the car, Sandy fell and broke her ankle. The others were in the car and could not see her writhing in pain on the ground or hear her screaming for help. Rather than continue to try to open the cache, I stickered the outside of the cache, and ran down the hill to help her. I personally held at least 550 of the caches in my hands... on a few of the early caches, when they were on the other side of the car, and I could see them as we drove up.. I did not bother to exit the car, since by the time I got around the car it would be too late for me to help. I also took a 5 minute break (2 Caches) about 9 hours into the run to eat a sandwhich, while others picked up the slack.
  5. I happened to be lunching nearby today... Thanks for the info... got it... Very Nice Coin
  6. Having been there... I know what we did.... I will admit when I saw the initial reports of 406, I had my doubts... but I now beleive it completely... If not for a few mishaps, some lower density towards the end of the run, and several DNFs, I think we could have hit 440. We were on target for 440 most of the day. As for the time at each cache, we seldom spent more than a minute. Thankfully, these were very simple and consistent hides. Most of them took 5 seconds to quickly walk to, and a couple of seconds to grab. Most of the minute was spent getting the log in/out of the container. I do not think we looked more than a minute at more than a handful of caches. If we were approaching 2 minutes, we called it, got back in the car and headed towards the next cache. Thanks for all the congratulations..... Jim - of f0t0m0m
  7. It looks like I'm going to be able to attend. I was shocked to see that Registration has already ended more than a month before the Event. I seldom plan anything except GeoWoodstock farther than a month in advance. I've been concentrating on the Caching Power Run we did in Denver last weekend (413 finds in 24 Hours), and had not even thought about starting to plan for this.....
  8. I suspect it is something on Gecaching dot com's e-mail side. I ran 3 pocket queries several hours ago. The queries ran, but I have received nothing back from them. I am using AOL's email, so it is not just on GMAIL...
  9. Does anyone know where to get the activation codes for the original 2005 German Geocoins Bronze/Silver/Gold? I know they were on the sleeve, but if that is missing, does anyone know who to contact?
  10. I would happily take a set...
  11. gatales... thanks... a quick search of the trash provded the codes...

  15. Still nothing here in Southern California either.....
  16. I cache often with 2 of 4 of the Obsessed Ones, Ventura Kids and EMC of Northridge. They are both truly obsessed with caching and most of my better days caching have been with them. I look forward to seeing their coins in person.
  17. Was there something indicated on the sale in advance, that I just missed, to tell us this was a closed sale? This is not the first time I've made an effort to be here when a coin is coming up for sale, only to find out that I could not buy....
