  1. Garmin, at least my eTrex 30 (the original series), has a log type "Unattempted". When you import the generated file "geocache_visits.txt" as drafts/field notes all the lines with that log type are simply ignored. It would be very useful when during/after importing the log type of those lines are set to "Write note", so they do show up in the list of field notes. Maybe there are other log types as well, so when all not recognized log types are set to "Write note" then those lines won't disappear without any notice.
  2. Now this are the options to determine what to do with it when a PQ has run: Uncheck the day of the week after the query runs Run this query every week on the days checked Run this query once then delete it An extra option that combine the first and the last would be much appreciated. I often create a PQ for a (weekend)trip to a certain area. I want it to be created a couple of time before the trip, but after the trip is over I often don't need that PQ anymore.
  3. When I create a new PQ, I would like to be able to set personal defaults for the things like "That" checkboxes ("I haven't found", "Is Enabled", etc), for terrain and difficulty and other settings you most often keep the same.
  4. Basically the subject says it all. A Wherigo is very similar to a multi, so why can't I update the final coords of a Wherigo?
  5. And it just as often isn't or the parking spot is already a waypoint so I am not sure this would be a good idea. Early mysteries could have the coordinates tens of kilometers away from the real coordinates, so no they are not always useful. But often they are useful, so I think it is good to have them in the GPX-file.
  6. And why is the correct coordinate only for Multis and Mysteries. I have a Wherigo that I want to correct as well. We were unable to find it the first time, but still have the right coordinates.
  7. When you add the corrected coordinates feature to the PQs, please make it possible to select "Any cache type with corrected coordinates" as an extra cache type. I only want to add the *solved* mysteries to my existing PQs. And add the original coordinate to the cache entry as an additional waypoint. It is often used for a parking coordinate.
  8. I have found two caches yesterday with my brand new eTrex 30. I logged them in my gps as found, but when I was back home I couldn't find any geocache_visits.txt file on my unit. What am I doing wrong or is the unit wrong?
  9. Being a native Dutch guy I like the fact that the site can be translated. Since there is no Dutch translation yet, I switch to the German translation just to see how it works and I was surprised that the date display is still in the North America notation mm/dd/yyyy. Here in Europe most people prefer dd-mm-yyyy. Will this become configurable as well, just like metric/imperial for distances?
  10. A nice thing to have would be an option for a travel bug to automatically bookmark the cache where your travel bug is placed. So when my TB is placed in a cache, that cache is put on that bookmark list (or watchlist) and when the TB is retrieved that cache is removed from that list.
  11. Even the states are defined in ISO 3166-2 as a 2 character field. E.G. Netherlands: Drenthe NL-DR Flevoland NL-FL Fryslân NL-FR Gelderland NL-GE Groningen NL-GR Limburg NL-LI You are right. I forgot about that I knew that the states/regions/provinces are in ISO 3166-2, but unfortunately (off-topic for this thread) our Dutch provinces are not in the Groundspeak database. From what I see in the html sources of various pages, Groundspeak simply uses a number to classify them. When (not if ) they add those ids to the GPX file, they should publish the content of the (relevant) tables as well. A set of simple CSV files could easily do the job. They have a country "Unknown" numbered "1". So a 1 on 1 mapping with ISO3166 could cause some issues, although the vast majority of countries should be matchable. Out of curiosity I created a PQ for caches in country "Unknown" which resulted in zero caches.
  12. Adding the country id is a good plan. I would suggest to use the (two letter) ISO 3166 coding. It may sound like a good plan to add that two letter id for states to caches in the US, but that doesn't work for international caches. Here in The Netherlands the provinces are not specified, but many other country do have their provinces, Bunderslander, or whatever they are called. Simply check the list of "states" when you search for a cache or create a pocket query and you will see what I mean. But a simple numeric id would do the job. As long as Groundspeak publishes all those lookup tables it does not mind what number an id is.
  13. Maybe they can add a unique number attribute to the <Groundspeak:type>, just like they did with <Groundspeak:attribute>. I don't even try to parse the text of those <gs:attribute> tags in my application. Both <Groundspeak:container> and the type under <Groundspeak:log> could benefit from this as well. And maybe i have overlooked some other tags.
  14. Today I released the newest version of GPX Viewer, a viewer for .gpx files for Windows Mobile devices. The most important new feature in this release is the support for the recently added attributes of the caches in the .gpx files. You can find more information and download it at http://www.fesevur.com/gpxviewer
  15. Is there a complete list of all these attributes and their id? Or is there a reference cache that contains all the attributes? If not, is there a GPX file available (for hobby developers like me) to test my software?
  16. A question like this comes up quite often. Just a few recent ones: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=226211 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=230249 Maybe overriding manually (if that would be possible) could have solved your problem. And overriding a multi is useful for a TB drop off
  17. No not possible. It has been requested before quite often. One of them is here: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=226211
  18. I really like the idea. If only we could override the coordinate on a bookmark list would already help a lot. Than you could simply create a PQ for that list and you are ready to go for the hunt.
  19. Almost every time create a pocket query I make the same mistake. Today I saw my colleague make exactly the same mistake and she told me, that she also almost always makes this same mistake. When you create a pocket query, you can choose the cache type "All types" or "Selected Types" followed by the check boxes for the type. I often want to select one or more specific types. So I click the check box but the form does not automatically select the "Selected types" for me. And I always forget to do this myself. Are there any plans to improve the behavior of this form?
  20. Are greiol and I the only who do not like this new behavior of the /my/ page??
  21. Do you have a link to this new program of yours?
  22. Today I released the newest version of GPX Viewer, a viewer for .gpx files for Windows Mobile devices. Some of the new features in this version: If there is only one cache in the .gpx file, open this cache directly Limited support for decoding BB-code in the logs Text and Distance filters Added support for the Additional Waypoints (-wpts) file Added support for GSAK generated .gpx files version 1.1 The temporary downloaded images are cleanup after 21 days. You can find more information and download it at http://www.fesevur.com/gpxviewer.
  23. Ken, could you give me a bit more details. What version of the Compact Framework is installed? Could you run cgacutil.exe in the \Windows folder to show this information.
  24. Last week I released the new version of GPX Viewer, a viewer for gpx files for Windows Mobile devices. Some of the new features: If there is only one cache in the .gpx file, open this cache directly Limited support for decoding BB-code in the logs Text and Distance filters Added support for the Additional Waypoints (-wpts) file Added support for GSAK generated .gpx files version 1.1 You can download and find more information at http://www.fesevur.com/gpxviewer.
