  1. SL is not listed in the glossary of terms. That is why I posted the question. Thanks for the reply.
  2. I have been seeing the letters SL on finders notes on geocaching.com. SL is not listed in the acronym glossary. What does it mean? Thanks
  3. I download all 3 PQs to my Garmin Etrex 30. When I hit the Geocaches button what comes up is apparently just the largest of the PQs. How do I access the other PQs (my finds and new caches) or are they all together? If so, how do I differentiate them? will it not show as 3 separate files on the Garmin? Thanks
  4. I get 3 PQs on a regular basis. 1 is a 200 mile radius PQ another is my finds and the third is new this week. My Garmin Etrex 30 will show the first PQ but how do I see the other two once i have download to my Garmin? thank you
  5. When my Garmin Etrx30 is plugged in via USB is it drawing power from the USB or the device batteries? Thanks
  6. In a heavily watched area I sometimes wear my GPS unit around my neck and carry a clipboard. Makes me look official.
  7. It does not ask if I want too overwrite when I download a PQ. That's what made me wonder about it. It does if I do an individual cache. I will have to figure out how to erase files before downloading a new PQ. I am very new to this. Thanks for your help! Also don't know what a GPSr is.
  8. If you're using a Windows PC, and if when placing the file, there's a popup window asking about overwriting the file (various messages are possible depending on the Windows version), and if when asked, you select the option to over-write the file, then... yes. Because my GPSr is a Garmin and therefore I know it loves to misbehave , my practice is to delete old files before installing new. But when you place your new file, you can look at the folder and see if everything's cool. If you had a file like "pocketquery.gpx" and now have that and "pocketquery(1).gpx", it didn't over-write the old file. The GPSr selects the newer of the two cache descriptions. ...If it's behaving well today.
  9. Garmin etrex 30 When you download a new PQ does it overwrite the previous PQ?
  10. I am using a Garmin Etrex 30. I am able to download PQ's so I must be showing as a premium member correct? It seems that when I get a PQ it does not overwrite a previous geocache and I don't know how to delete an individual listing out of a 1000 listing gc. I downloaded some individually previous to becoming a premie but shouldn't those be overwrittwn by the PQ? They don't show as duplicates / Thanks
  11. I have a few geocaches in my GPS that do not show the logs and hints. They are on the website and I am a premium member. The ones that I PQ'd came through OK its the individual ones that are short the hint/log info. I used "Send to GPS" on the website. Thanks
  12. Gander Mountain has Garmin etrex 30 on clearance for $249.99
  13. I am a newbie who just purchased a Garmin Etrex 30 GPS. I am a premium member. When I do a PQ I specify .gps output but the emailed PQ is in .LOC format that will not transfer to my GPS. If I do a single Geocache file via "Send to my GPS" it comes through fine. I want to download multiple Geocaches. Thanks in advance for your help!!
