  1. I was one of the victims of this tbclean cacher too. I was told way back when I first started geocaching that you should never post a picture of your TB with the tag attached. At the time I didn't see what the big deal was but I took their advice anyway and I purposely turned the tag upside down when I photgraphed it w/ my TB. Even if it had been turned upside up I don't think they could have read the number from the lousy picture I posted. I feel bad for the TB Graveyard cache owner who archived his cache today because of this "problem child" named tbclean. I think the graveyard cache was a creative way to put your MIA TB's to rest and put it behind you... I get attached to my TB's . They are like your children. Its really sad when they go missing but instead of dwelling over your lost TB, its comforting to know that you are not alone and many others are resting in peace too along with yours and its a place for cachers to be creative in saying goodbye to their TB. Some of the earlier logs on this cache (before the tbclean bandit showed up) are hysterical and how can you not get a kick out of headstones made from TB tags? LoL Having said that, I still feel for everyone who has lost TB's. I've lost all mine except two and at first I was really upset but now I just just remind myself to lighten up ......its only a game. I do hope they track down this person and reveal his/her name on the forums....and put them to shame a little bit. But I think if there are going to be Graveyard TB caches to place your missing TB"s in. It should be a cache that only the TB owner can log the missing TB into. If it was setup so that you had to actually have the TB ID code that you got when you activated your TB...This number is listed under your GC handle on your TB page and you are the only person who has this number. I ralize that some cachers don't pay attention to their TB logs and when they go misisng they do not remove them from the cache pages but maybe the cache approver could be the last resot for removing these MIA TB's off the cache pages after a certain amount of time has passed.....like maybe 6 monhts. Oh well its been a sad day...reading all the logs on that Graveyard cache.... Foxgloves
  2. That is too precious and 2  !! Maybe you should buy her a REAL yellow Jeep!
  3. Hey Thanx! Did not know there was such a thing. I think a slide bar would easier to look at though than a bunch of misc. icons plastered all over the cache page. Sometimes cache pages get too busy looking and it gives me a migraine Little scales like the Cache Size Scale are much easier on the eyes.... and take less time to download when you have a slow dialup connection like myself.
  4. I like the new Cache Size Bar that has been added to the cache pages. Now how about putting a similiar type bar with icons all in a row representing the 4 seasons. Maybe a rain shower icon for Spring Sun icon for Summer Autumn Leaf icon for Fall Snowflake icon for Winter Cache placer can indicate on their cache page which seasons the cache is accessible. Maybe some areas of the country this wouldn't be applicable but it makes sense for New England where we experience all the seasons including the 5th one (Mud season) lol At the very least a Winter icon indicating the cache can be accessed in the winter would be nice.. Maybe this has already been brought up in previous thread but I don't have time to flip through the forums.... Just a thought Foxgloves (in Vermont)
  5. I wouldn't miss it for the world! Traveling ALL THE WAY from VT too! Bringing: Plastic forks, knives, spoons, napkins Tossed salad/salad dressings Cookies and my enthusiasm for geocaching
  6. Guess what? My "TOP GUN 2" TB has been logged. I just got notification. 'thewanderingwebsters" have been a member on geocache.com since October/2003 but have never logged a cache. This explains why their geocache "handle"was not searchable and I could not locate them. The cache they found my TB in has been archived..can they still log the cache? This is one of the problems I have with newbies.....and the geocache website. ok... so they have not logged a cache yet but I still should be able to find their profile on geocache site if they are a registered member so that I can email them. I'm sure this topic has been brought up before somewhere on this forum but I don't spend much time on these things.... Thanks anyone who was trying to help.......... Foxgloves

  8. Thanks everyone for trying to help... I 'm not gettitng a warm and fuzzy feeling about this though.. Moral of this story..... "Don't ever get attached to anything"
  9. I am trying to track down a geocacher... I'm not sure where they are located. I'm assuming they are from So Carolina. The owner of the cache ("Mays Park") says a log entry by "The Wandering Websters" indicates that they retrieved my TB ("Top Gun 2") on July 4th...but I can not find anyone by that name on geocache.com "Mays Park" is near Fort Jackson and the cache was archived after two people could not find it. It turns out that the cache IS still there and "The Wandering Websters" were in fact there on July 4th They may not have been able to log it because it was archived. Has anyone ever heard of them or know how I can reach them? This TB is sentimental to me and I am trying make sure it is still in circulation. Thank you in advance for any info you can give me Foxgloves (from Vermont)

  11. Lucky you... Golden Retrievers are the best! How bout' Cachew? (cashew) Aren't cashews kind of golden colored? ok..ok...I'll keep thinking... ~foxgloves~
  12. Just checked out website for Ecobars. I haven't found any type of energy bars yet that really turn me on but these sound pretty good.. Are they only available to purchase for fundraisers or can you buy them in health food stores?... I have never seen them but then again I've never really looked...Power bars are gross and I've yet to see anybody duplicate the real flavor of "chocolate" in any of these energy type bars you can buy... 13. I wanna Win! I Wanna Win! My avatar would look so pretty on a rock... Count me in... Hey even if I don't win I would love for you to paint my avatar anyway..I would gladly pay for your time and postage... We have a cacher in my area that also paints rocks and leaves them behind in caches.. They are so special and finding her rocks is like finding gold...so I fully appreciate artistic talents! 14. I bought my Camouflage paint at an Autoparts store. Its made by KRYLON and its called Camouflage Paint System. I purchased the color #8143, "Olive Drab" (Ultra-Flat finish) in a 12 oz spray can. To get the overall camouflage effect you would obviuosly spray a coat(fine mist) of either olive drab, brown or black or sand color layers. I recently came across a nice geocache container in which someone painted the first layer in this "Drab Olive" color and then set misc. leafs such as ferns on top of box and lightly misted another coat of (black paint over the top of it and then used brown to finish it off. It looked great and blended in so well in its surroundings. "A bad day of caching is still better than a good day at work" ~Foxgloves~
  15. I just got a Canon Powershot A70 about 1 month ago. I waited over two months for it . Everybody and I mean EVERYBODY had them on Backorder. Canon just couldn't keep up with the demand. I finally got it. I was supposedly on the waiting list at about #100 but I managed to charm store clerk into bumping me up to "NEXT" and he called me as soon as he got a couple of them in. I do liike it so far. It is my first digital so I don't have anything to compare it to but I like its compactness and the way it feels when you hold onto it. It seems perfect for me and it does have options of manual settings which I want to experiment with... Overall I'm enjoying it. The best price I found was at "Best Buy" "A bad day of caching is still better than a good day at work" ~Foxgloves~
  16. Thats a great plan.... Geeze....I never thought to keep track of T.B. serial numbers as I am finding them...DOH! another good idea... "You most certainly can! ....get there from here...." ~Foxgloves~
  17. I'm not so concerned about T.B. miles as I am that people be able to find "missing" T.B.'s that they put alot of their imagination into.. Its seems a shame that they have to disappear and are never heard from again.... I will be hurt if one of my T.B's just disappears out of thin air...I can see them going into the graveyard if they are intentionally being taken out of circulation but if they just disappeared with no trace? "You most certainly can! ....get there from here...." ~Foxgloves~
  18. Thats good! Now can we alphabetize the bugs to make the search easier and can we link Travel Bug Graveyard to travel bug page so people have a way to look up T.B.'s if they are suspicious that they may be MIA? "You most certainly can! ....get there from here...." ~Foxgloves~
  19. Is there any way we can have a page on the website to post missing T.B.'s Kinda like on the milk cartons...know what I mean? it could be a page listing any T.B.s that have not been seen for 2 months or so and that are technically missing.. Maybe someone just FORGOT to log them in or someone didn't know they were supposed to log them in Also maybe it could be linked to the page where you log in a T.B. Maybe you could have another option in T.B. Log called "didn't find it where it is supposed to be" Just a thought... "You most certainly can! ....get there from here...." ~Foxgloves~
  20. I just got my Garmin ETrex Legend in the mail and although I have been playing with it and familiarizing myself with the features all this week and I think it is very user friendly and I can't get over the informatin that is available on this tiny little unit. Its awesome! Not sure how it would work in a car since I bought it primarily for geocaching but for I think its a good value. $189 at amazon.com and with a $50 rebate now thru 7/7/03 comments from people that have purchased it so far are very promising.... Going to try it out today.... ~foxgloves~
