hmmm I downloaded updates from garmin, seems to have gotten things fixed. Sorry to bother...

I have a Garmin eTrex Legend HCx. I was out caching on Saturday and it froze up and wouldnt read coords or change position. One minute its fine the next no dice. I tried restarting it, including taking batteries out/new batteries but no luck. When it starts up, it doesnt even show any bars for available satellites, it just says "acquiring satellites" but nothing happens. I keep reading about the "hard reset" but searching this forum and Garmin site I havent seen specific instructions. I tried pushing 3 buttons at once as suggested by REI staff (not sure if this is the hard reset or not), it gives me a different screen with lots of info, but I cant seem to navigate within that screen. I was at a caching event on Saturday and even asked the REI staff to help, but they couldnt figure it out (I think they tried clearing the memory???). Suggestions????

I have a unite for diabetes travel bug that is trying to get to Zimbabwe. I was "approached" via email with an offer for me to mail the bug to him in Africa (I checked his profile and seemed legit). I tried to look up the "owner" but the owner is "unite for diabetes" and doesn't appear to be an actual person I can email (no caching profile to speak of anyway). Should I take this guy up on his offer, or just place in a new cache? Thanks in advance!
