  1. Well we just heard back from them and no luck there either. We'll keep trying. If that doesn't work, we'll take your advice and see if we can get 'er activated and movin'. Otherwise, we could attache another bug to it and call it an unactivated TB. Everyone wants to discover one of those. Will let ya know. Thanx 4 The Help.
  2. Oh, and no tags with a name or anything else. Just a keyring with a TB Dog Tag on it that is unactivated.
  3. We do know about O's and 0's, B's and 8's, QDS's and GC5's. The tracking number is pretty straight forward without any of the above numbers/Letters. Mrs. rockymtn8iv (who has better eyes) confirmed the numbers. We got it out of GC24VW6. We're figuring a newbie placed it without activating it. We've contacted the most recent finder on the cache, relatively new cachers, and are waiting to hear back from them.
  4. Whilst cachin' the other day, we came across a first for us. We picked up a Colorado Columbine Key Chain with a TB Dog Tag attached to it. When we went to log the TB it has come up as unactivated. Kind of at a loss here........any ideas???
  5. Here's a place to start. IC3.gov Good Luck to Ya!
  6. Well apparently it is now "Shame on Me"! We PM'd and got a response, and although his post said he had some left over pirates, he said he would need some time to "gather his coins". That in itself sounded "fishy" It has been a month now and we emailed him at his jsam email address last week. Guess what??? Yeah go ahead guess. That's right! NO ANSWER! We are going to file on him. Anyone interested in adding their info post here or email us through our Groundspeak profile. Dates, order numbers, emails-both to and from, money taken, etc. any and all info. We have added all the info that has been posted so far. Fortunately his recent posts have moved the statutes of limitations, so as far as the authorities are concerned, it happened last month and we are all well in time to have this issue handled. He has been advised that what he has done constitutes internet fraud. Seems he doesn't care so.................. Let's put the shame where it belongs.
  7. All my finds are showing up on 12/31/69. Several of the oldest caches I've found, Mingo-etc.......have showed up without a found it log. My updated file on My Geocaching Profile .com does not show any new caches since last update (I refreshed browser, tried the pq several times, etc.) At INATN I got some weird info which I posted to the other thread on this topic - Cachestats date problem. I am sure by now GS is VERY aware of it. Hopefully, they'll be able to resolve by next week when we can run another PQ. 'Till then Happy Cachin'!
  8. This is what comes up @ It's not about the numbers: Note all the Warning: Division by zero in.....................this leads me to believe it is the pq that is being generated is corrupted I guess we have to wait until next week....................
  9. I just ran a pq a little while ago and tried to update my profiles at It's not about the numbers, and My geocaching profile .com Both sites were giving me problems. I.N.A.T.N. said something about unlink something or the other, and My Geocaching profile said it updated with the new pq but apparently didn't. I even tried refreshing the browser several times and reuploading the pq with no success. I opened up cache stats and got a message that it could not find my found it logs for several caches but it would include them in my stats anyway. The cache finds numbers are correct but a lot of the other info, days cached, best day, etc were not correct. I opened up the calendar to find I had 1908 finds on the 6th. A new record I guess. My guess is a corruption of the pq. But that is only a guess.
  10. We took Jake up on his offer with the left over Pirates coins and he has gotten back to us and has promised to make it right. It hasn't happened yet and he said it won't happen over nite as he needs to gather his coins to see what he has and then he'll get back to us. That was only 10 days ago. We are happy that he has finally come forward and given us a personal reply. We have more than enough ammunition to cause some serious hurt to him through legal channels. He only owes us around $30.00, so we too would like to give him every opportunity to fix this as the trouble would be far greater than what he gained, if he has gained anything at all. We realize that he is in debt to some of you for far more than that and we can only speak for ourselves, and we also know from experience how things can turn on you and pick up speed as it goes down hill, which is one more reason we'ld like to give him one more chance. Heaven knows we've needed our one more chances. Hopefully this isn't a "Shame on Me." Either way, we'll definitely let ya know.
  11. Just want to say thanx Jake, for not letting this go. I know we've given you a pretty bad rap, but we do appreciate you doing this. Good luck to you!
  12. We recently won a Gold Geocaching Colorado Geocoin and have been unable to get the activation code through CoinCodes. Coins and Pins site is down and we tried to contact them through their GC account 4 days ago. Still no luck. A friend and vendor who is a member of Geocaching Colorado sent us an activation code but that didn't work either. Any Ideas???
  13. Another 2 weeks and................nothing! No website updates, no answers, no coins.............nothing! Apparently the mass email was a sham!

Shortly after I sent my email, I noticed their presale page disappeared (hence not knowing when these coins were supposed to be due), and a message was posted to the main page: "ALL PENDING ORDERS FOR Groundspeak COINS, GLASS TRAVELERS WILL BE SHIPPING SOON, GIRL PIRATES ARE NEARLY DONE AND SHOULD BE SHIPPING WITHIN TWO WEEKS." There's no way to know when this message was added to the page, and thus no way to know when their supposed two weeks will be up. I KNOW this message was not there on/around 9-30 when the Girl Pirates were originally due. Well......... It has been two weeks since coinswag re-posted the note. We have sent multiple emails since then and..............................NOTHING! We have contacted paypal..........for what that is worth and urge anyone else with the same problems to do so also as well as posting to this thread: COINSWAG.COM ORDERS We have notified everyone in our circle and they have passed the information along. Hopefully no one else will get "taken" by these guys! We would love to report good news, unfortunately that is not the case. Another 2 weeks gone and nothin'! No updates, no coins, no answers....................NOTHING!!! Apparently the mass email was nothing but a ploy. From what I understand, this could fall under federal internet fraud statutes. We will be following up. If anyone would like to add their experiences to the case we are building, please send a PM. It would be greatly appreciated.
  15. We should probably have an "Coin Activation" thread, but...... I've had the same problems before. 1) What coins did you get. I will be handy to know in order to help you. (You can PM me if you like.) 2) This is where you go - (oakcoins.com/activate) -but I'm sure you knew that! You can also contact their customer support at - support@oakcoins.com and they may be able to point you in the right direction. As to the coins you traded, If the person you traded from retrieved the numbers you may have to get the numbers from them although you may be able to contact the customer support from the manufacturer and get their help. If they haven't retrieved them you should still be able retrieve them yourself. You'll have to look at the "tag" with the coin. Some (like Oak Coins) use their own site for activation and some require you to go to Coin Codes. I'm not familiar with geocoinshop24 so I'll have to do some more research before I can help there. It could be that they use the coin codes site as well. Let me know if any of this helps.....................
  16. Apparently coinswag also sells on ebay under the name of random_painting their feedback rating is 88.9% and there have been problems there also (See Here) so "buyer beware"! They are currently trying to sell Geocaching it's in the Blood and Hang Loose Cachers geocoins as well as the "Sold Out" Pirates of the Geocache geocoins that we ordered. They are asking twice as much for their "Pirates" coins than we paid them which may explain why they are in no rush to get ours out. There is still no change on coinswags website, ie-No update as promised in their newsletter.
  17. While I've seen no "updates" on coinswags website, I have noticed that random_painting is selling Geocaching it's in the Blood and Hang Loose Cachers geocoins as well as the "Sold Out" Pirates of the Geocache geocoins that we ordered and have not yet received. I wish I knew what was up with these guys!!!!
  18. I have FINALLY received a reply from the vendor! We recieved the same mass e-mail as did several of our friends that don't have orders with them but are subscribed to their newsletter. We've checked their website and have noticed no changes...........................
  19. Well to their benefit.......... We got the mass email too. We were in contact with paypal this weekend and were wondering if that had anything to do with it. It is hard to know what to do next. We do know people that have had fine transactions with them and we've found plenty of negative publicity too. A more personal email would have been nice, but at least we finally got some kind of response. We checked the web site and have noticed no change. It still says: "ALL PENDING ORDERS FOR Groundspeak COINS, GLASS TRAVELERS WILL BE SHIPPING SOON, GIRL PIRATES ARE NEARLY DONE AND SHOULD BE SHIPPING WITHIN TWO WEEKS." So it is still any ones guess.

  22. Yeh, I saw that too. Several weeks back the site said the Pirates were nearly done and should be shipping within 2 weeks. That was removed last week, and now it's back. Who knows?? I have sent more emails, with no response. We have notified everyone on our contact list as to the problems and they in turn have been notifying everyone on their contact list. Good luck to you.
