  1. I was just wondering.. I've looked up other people on Geocaching.com and there are graphic stating how many cache's they have found, ect... But when I look at my own profile none of those graphics are there.. Just wondering how do I go about getting them or is that just a thing for premium members?
  2. I posted my comment here because I thought it might be relevent.. As I thought it might also be relevent to the other threads I posted something simular to.. I'm sorry.. I'll be quiet now.... P.S. oh yea.. part of the reason I posted or replied with simular topics is because I felt it was a great idea and I know not every one reads "ALL" the threads or topics, so the more I posted to the more likely someone would see it and also have thought it was a good idea and maybe start the practice themself... I am very sorry for trying to promote a good idea.. OK now I'll be quiet...
  3. I'm new myself at geocaching... And I agree that most of the caches I've gone to have been filled with junk no one would want, mostly stuff you can find left behind in a 2 year olds sand box... It really doens't take much to get something worth while to trade in a cache.. Go to a dollor store and look around spend $10 on a few items that are worth while.. I did this recently and found some cool toys, watches, head set radio's, fishing tackle, tools, and jewlery.. It really doesn't take much.. As far as owning a cache and putting items in it, I don't think that takes much either, same thing go to the dollor store and find a couple of things to put in it, one thing that I do like finding in a cache is a small item that says I found your cache like a button or even just a small peice of paper that has been laminated... It really doesn't take much..
  4. Cool find.. err ahh cool DNF... I look forward to reading updates as to there names and how there doing..
  5. Yesterday I went is search for a FTF cache right after work.. When I found it there was a note inside it stating that the bearer of this certificate is and always will be recognised as the First to find of this Cache.. I thought this was a great idea! Not only are you actually the FTF, but you also have a certificate you can claim either as a status symbol or as proof to being FTF.. This certificate can help with disputes if there is ever a conflict of people taking FTF to seriously and arguing over who was actually FTF.. I plan on putting a FTF certificate in every geocache I make in the future.. With that said I would like to make up a certificate that sounds and looks great. If you have any idea's on what a certificate of this type should say, have stated or should look like I would like to hear it.. Share your idea's and thoughts on this subject and lets see what we can come up with.. Thanks, LokoLobo
  6. I like being the FTF especially when others have already been out looking for it and weren't able to find it.. That makes it more worth while when you are a FTF... I found one yesterday that actually had a note in it for me to claim as the FTF stating that I was the first to find of this cache.. It thought that was a great idea and that note or slip alone could solve a lot of problems when there is ever a dispute of who was actually the FTF.. I plan on making and putting a FTF note or certificate in every cache I make in the future..
  7. I did a cache yesterday that hadn't been posted as found yet.. When I got there it had a log entry in it dated a day befor it was published on-line.. Either this person "had inside information" or just dated it wrong.. But at the same time there was the FTF reward and a slip inside the cache that said the bearer of this slip is the FTF.. I took the slip and reward.. I think the idea for a fist to find note or slip inside the cache that a person can claim is a great idea.. It would solve a lot of the problems if there was anyone who thought it was serious enough to argue over as to who was FTF.... I plan on putting these FTF notes in every Cache I make from now on..

    First To Find

One way to fix the dispute for more then one person claiming FTF is to put a slip in the cache that the person FTF can take.. I found one yesterday that had such a note in it stating that the bearer of this slip is the FTF for this cache (with the name of the cache on it).. I thought it was a great idea... If you don't have the note then you can't claim FTF... I know some people put a lot of importance on FTF some times way to much importance but the slip or note idea for the FTF I think is a great idea for fixing that problem..
  9. So far I've only gone about 55 mile as the crow flies to get a FTF.. But I'm still new at this and well, next summer when I have my bike running good I might go quite a bit farther for a reason to get out and ride my bike...
  10. I went to a cache yesterday that had not yet been posted as found.. In the cache when I got there was a slip in it that said the bearer of this slip is the FTF. I'm new to Geocaching but when I saw this slip I thought it was a great idea... If every one put a slip like that in their new cache's it would help solve the confusion of who might be FTF.. I do think it's cool to be the FTF especially when others had looked for it before you and weren't able to find it.. But at the same time it's not that big of a deal to get all worked up over.. There will be others....
  11. I'm a little lost on this whole geocoin thing.. I've tried to find my answers by reading the FAQ's, other forum post, and using ask.com, but have yet to really understand what it is all about... I'm confused, I know travel bugs are ment to travel from one cache to another. But from what I have read geocoins do the same, but at the same time people collect coins.. How do you know what coins you can keep for your own collection and what coins are ment to be transfered to another cache?
