  1. I selected my finds and ran the query . My home co ords / 1000 miles ,any container ,any type of cache,5 or less on difficulties and thats pretty much it . Not really sure what else to do . Kinda funny . Not a big deal .I am not a nut about my finds . I just like to see where and when I found them on a map. I cant look them up if I dont have them all . Thanks again Did you make that query by clicking the "Create a new query" link on the Pocket Queries page just like a regular query? Because doing a query that way will not get all the caches you have found. Near the bottom of the page there is a button to create a special pocket query of all of the caches you have ever found, which will include the log entry you made, and will include disabled and archived caches. (Regular pocket queries will not include archived caches, and I know you have found some that have since been archived.)
  2. LOL I ran a My Finds Query from the same place you run pocket queries . Is this correct ? I used the wrong term I suppose . Thanks for the help but I stll only have 111 finds in MY Finds query . I dont have any international finds . I cant remember finding any further than a 1000 miles from my home co-ords . If I do maybe only one or 2 Thanks
  3. Having trouble creating a pocket query that matched my total finds. Geocaching.com has my total finds at 144 but when I create a finds pocket query for my Gsak software the most it will give me is 111. I have tried several times adjusting distance and location and no luck . Any suggestions ? Thanks
  4. That looks (standing 234' away - man, you use large letters!) like decimal degrees. If your GPSr is set to Degrees, Minutes, Dezimal-Minutes enter: N 42° 06.000' W 70° 52.200' That might be the solution to your problem. GermanSailor 1st off sorry about the large print in previous post. Now fixed . Thankyou very much .That looks very close to where it shows on the old map . Not sure how you did that and would be interested in know how. Now I have to see if I can get to it. Thanks again .
  5. I am trying to enter some co ords from a historical site .The coordinates are from a map from the 30's. When I try to enter them N42.1 W70.87 my gpsr brings me to a area that I know is in correct. Does anyone know how these should be entered on gpsr? Thanks
  6. I would like to have cache names show up on my nuvi 855 map insteead of gc# . Also on my other garmin handhelds . I know I have done this before but I just cant remember how . Thanks
  7. The Oregon 400T is really an awesome caching device. I assume you have the Topo USA installed. Have you been able to load *.gpx cache files into it yet? As for loading CN into it, I would suggest loading the CN software into mapsource, and then unlocking the software for your Oregon. Then transfer all of CN to a micro SD card... Once you have Topo USA, CN, and a *.gpx file (with cache data) loaded you'll be able to route to a cache via turn by turn directions on the streets, and then route straight line via Topo USA overland to the cache. You need to take it one step at a time... Load CN into your Oregon, Then Load Cache data into it. If you need detailed instruction, people here can help you. Just ask specific questions. Here's a good resource for the Oregon: http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/message/list/home OK Thanks for your help . I installed the mapset to the micro sd card and the gps says it cant unlock the map. Can I only use cn on one gps ? I have a zumo that I use cn for now . Thanks for the link also .
  8. Can anyone please help me with street navigation to a cache on my oregon 400t . I cant seem to figure out how to get to the cache by road . My old gps map 60 would ask me when I wanted to find a cache how I wanted to navigate to it . By road or off road . I have city navigator cd I would like to install on a micro sd card but I am not sure how to do that either . My 1st try at this showed no way to access the card from the oregon after i installed them. Thankyou
  9. Could anyone please give me help on how I can show the cache hints on my oregon 400t . I was using a dell axim for paperless which I could press on the screen to show them only if I needed the hint . Thanks so much
  10. Sionevil... please... First, please do not mention Platinum membership or our benefits on the forums! Next, it was good seeing you again last nite when you kidnapped Pierre, at least as good as it can ever be to encounter my favorite online/geo-stalker (sigh...), but I do have one important quick question for you: Did you happen to also kidnap my darling Barred Plymouth Rock hen Samantha while you were kidnapping Pierre? I can't find her anywhere today! Of course not! I last saw her on a platter, with corn on the cob, and dinner rolls. *hiccup* Tasted like chicken. AAARRRGGHHH! There was a thread in off topic , Are you offended by offended people ? Fits right in here .Are you offended by whinnners ?
  11. I dont see via points . But I was able somehow to make part of the route yellow then delete it . I dont know how I did it or how to select only a certain part to delete . Thankyou for your help very frustrating software issue .
  12. I made a route. I saved the route . I now need to make some changes to errors I made . I cannot seem to delete the sections on the map that I dont want . Help please . The erasing tool does nothing . Maybe a link or a how to on erasing part of a route i dont want . Thanks .
  13. You logged the cache with attitude and then were surprised that you got attitude back. Huh. Amen! I am amazed when people log nasty comments and think they are being "honest". From where I stand it just looks like they're being rude. Also, anyone who could find an agenda in the wording on this cache page has a serious agenda themselves. I started a thread in off topic about this kind of behavior . I like the Idea of this cache , But if I didnt I would go find some of the thousands of others . Political not political agenda no agenda . Dont take offence to the cache just go to another one . Thousand of US vets have died all over the world protecting the rights of those who now choose to hate the USA . Those who choose to be offended by such a insignificant thing will quickly find something else to be offended by . Dont give up geocaching because of a few who are offended . :
  14. I agree most of my caching is done solo . I stay very far away from children . Unless they are with adults. So many caches in my are there is no need to go where childred are anyway . But yes sometimes I do feel a bit silly . I bring a camera as someone else suggested ,that looks less funny or odd if you stop and fake a picture or 2 .
  15. I use 2 and have used 3 dif gpsr's and all have been different . .My pocket pc has a gpsr on it and is sometimes more acurate than my map 60. I dont put it down till I am as close as possible . I need all the help I can get. Alot of tree cover in my area . And yes I have almost walked into things looking at gpsr instead of where I'm going .
  16. Has anyone tried making a cache route on google earth ? I did give a try but I couldnt seem to save my route as described . Looks easy to download existing routes made by others . I would like to create my own . Thanks
  17. I have a garmin zumo that I put caches on using mapsource . I make I file with gsak ,open map source ,then select open file in mapsource as waypoints .then send to my garmin . Is this what you mean ? I cannot send from gsak to my garmin zumo which is made for motorcylcing . But I can do it as I said . I also have a pocket pc with a gamin Ique on it and I have to do the same thing with that .I cannot send directly from gsak . Hope this helps

  22. I also Have a map60 .There is a version lower than mine which is the gps60 but I think its discontinued . I think mine is easy to use . I have topo maps on it .Awesome battery life . But sat reception is sometimes difficult . I walk ten or 20 feet and let it lock in again no biggie. USB connection is easily recognized after you install garmin software . I paid $105 as a factory reconditioned . Cheap for a mapping gpsr and no problems at all . You can send me a message if you would like more info.
  23. I'm a milestone wannabe. Is there a guideline on how one achieves a milestone ? How many ? What type ? What difficulty ? and so on . I need to prepare for my 1st milestone . How many people will be comming to my milestone party ? Do most people rent a hall ? What about getting a DJ is that over the top ? What do most people spend on a milestone party? And most important where do I post my CO-ORDS for the party ? Thanks for the help to all my veteran milestone achievers .
