Just a note, cause we're new at this too, but if you use the geocaching w/google earth feature listed in the left hand column beside the yahoo map, it will show you all the other available caches nearby. And since it is in google earth, you can zoom in and out and back and forth in any area you wish to look for more. Play with this feature for awhile. I think you'll be amazed at what you'll find. To do this, from the list of your area cache's, open one you want to look for. When you are on that cache's page, scroll down to the yahoo map. Look to the left of the map and highlight/click on the geacaching w/google earth. This will open up another window. The cache site you started with will be listed as #1, all others around it will show up as other numbers in separate dialog bubbles. First time I did this I was just amazed at how many others were so close by! Anyway, move cursor over other bubbles and click, you will pull up that cache. I'm so spoiled now, I won't use anything but this map! And you are all right about using it w/PDA for paperless. Take extra batteries!
Also, you can print/PDA the google map you've pulled up too! Forgot to mention that!
This has been a ton of healthy fun! And some people are just incredibly clever! So enjoy and don't give it up
