  1. But my travel transporter machine was almost finished. I was going to do caches all around the world in one day!
  2. I still use my 315 as a backup and to introduce others to Geocaching. First, have you updated the software? If not go here: http://www.magellangps.com/en/support/prod...rade_gps315.asp I didn't use mine for over a year and had to initialize it again. After the unit locks onto the satellites, it should go to the position screen. That will show you're location. Walk down the street and you will see the numbers change. When you get back home, press "Mark", that will save your home coordinates, you can edit it to name the waypoint "Home". After you have loaded some waypoints, press GOTO, scroll down to User and press ENTER. Select the cache or waypoint you want to go to and press ENTER. You can then use the navigational screens to find your way there. Hope this helps.
  3. Let 'em fight it out in court, that's why they have lawyers.
  4. There are a couple of caches at Notre Dame. I've got them on my list of to do's. Most are 1/1's so they should be what you're looking for. Check here: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.asp...&lon=-86.236133
  5. Geocaching is whatever you want it to be and whatever you make it. And that's all I have to say about that.
  6. Indeed. We were in Pennsylvania, where I was surprised to learn from the track line that we actually detoured around Pittsburgh rather than fly directly over it. At 35000+ feet I can't imagine what we'd have risked running into! Just one of the fun reasons to run a GPS on a plane I guess - Usually the only thing to worry about at 35,000+ feet is another plane. But hitting one of them is enough to ruin your whole day!
  7. Look Here! http://www.magellangps.com/en/support/prod...ianplatinum.asp
  8. This company makes products that might help: https://www.micro-surface.com/default.cfm?page_id=1 The Air Force and airlines use it on the windows of planes. There kits to restore convertible top windows, head lights and taillights. I have all their grits and use them in woodworking. I haven't had to try them on plastic yet.
  9. Yep! I drink a half a pot before work and a full pot at work. In the evenings, I drink a half gallon or more of iced tea, year 'round! I only have a few of the plastic cans though.
  10. Mizuti, you haven't done my Wolf Lake caches yet, when you do, I have some extra containers, that you are welcome to.
  11. I spray mine in the garage and leave them there for a couple of days.
  12. It's deep too! Somebody had to do it!
  13. I used Krylon Camoflage paint after sanding and it worked so far. A couple of companies make spray paint that will stick to plastic. I think Krylon's is called Fusion.
  14. All this time I thought it was magic!
  15. Indiana's #9 on the list and most of my finds are in Illinois, I gotta get busy in my home state!
  16. That's all you men care about, our cans..... Bec You ever hear a man say: "Does this make my butt look big?".
  17. That's hot. This guy looks just like a beat up, drunk rugby player! Rugby players are hot, but not this one. He's just not my 'type'! Looks more like one of the extras from "Deliverance" COD got the SWMBO answer right and wins a virtual Travel Bug!
  18. My wifes choice of weapon is a marble rolling pin, and she's standing over my shoulder as I skipped past that first post. I'll have to go back later to see what the topic was all about. Of course I did not find what Swfg and Swmg meanings on the definition page, but I'm sure the better half will explain it to me if I ask. But I'm not that fool hearty. And why ruin a good ammo box when an iron skillet does such a better job and leaves little if no marks. Ammo cans have sharp corners you know. Don't you watch CSI? All the married guys know what SWMBO means right? DWMG here so I don't have that problem anymore! I do have a Jeep though. Hmmmm, looks like goldfishy is in my part of the country!
  19. Try running a PQ using a Chicago zipcode. 60610 is on the South Side of Chicago.
  20. I got a new Magellan bike mount for my Meridian Platinum on E-Bay for $7.00. The guy never used it.
  21. Try E-Bay. I got an aftermarket windshield mount and power cord for my Meriplat for $25.00. Works fine!
  22. You forgot religion. How's this to keep this thread going for another 2-3 pages? The Good Book says cruising is immoral. You can't find anything like that there about caching! If money is the root of all evil then why do they always pass the collection plate at chruches and temples? Religion has deep roots!
  23. "Where else would you expect him to find it? Should he look for it in church on sunday?" I think the main thing people on here are saying is if they want that lifestyle, ok, just keep it to yourself. Just because somebody goes to a park or Nature Preserve, doesn't mean that they are cruising for a date or drugs. The parks and preserves are there for everyone to enjoy. A parent shouldn't have to explain to a child why two people are wrestling in the underbrush squealing like pigs. In a metropolitan area like Chicago, there are plenty of bars and private meeting places for "alternative lifestyles". If they want to meet somewhere else, fine, but take the action home or to the "No Tell Motel", don't expose the rest of the population to it, no matter how much excitement the possibility of getting caught adds to the experience.
