  1. Did my book not get there in time ? Ah well. Mark Team Nottrikk
  2. I'm due to come into some money by the end of the year. I'm looking at buying a spanking new GPSMap 60cs (basically because of all of th bells and whistles, and I Loooove bells and whistles). My question is this: I've been caching on a yellow etrex with no mapping capapbilities since I started. Do I need to get a mapping program so that I can utilise the 60cs to best advantage. If so, how do I go about putting waypoints onto the maps. Is this fairly self explanatory or is as invloved as a very involved thing indeed? I'll be buying one in the UK, so it should have the UK base map on it Is this correct or do I need to upload UK base maps using more memory than is strictly necessary? Does anyone have one that I can call on for an e-tutorial before I go out caching with it? Ummm.... That's it. Cheers Mark S. Team Nottrikk
  3. Slightly digressing, I've always wanted one of the rack mounted fridges that they sell and I've never managed to pluck enough courage up to actually put a requisition in for one. Mark S. Team Nottrikk
  4. Yup, I've had the technician's gospel on my wall for a while now. They've added a few chapters since I stole my copy from Leeds Varieties. I've only just moved to Loughborough, but thanks for the link. Mark S. Team Nottrikk
  5. Is that the same Redhillian that posts on Pagga.net? If so, we have more than playing with GPSr equipment and a hatred of all things luvvie in common. Mark S. Team Nottrikk
  6. Well, I teach technical theatre (that's theatrical theatre, not the medical kind) to waifs and strays. That's why my avatar for those with microscopes to see it has me with a headset on. No IT here except for the occasional website update. Mark S. Team Nottrikk
  7. I certainly do, go to The shades websiteand click on the books link. The photos aren't fantastic as they were taken with a hand cranked digital camera a while back before Megapixels were even thought of. But you can get an idea of what I do. Pyro, I'll have a book in the post to you by the beginning of next week. Mark S. Team Nottrikk.
  8. Just a quick question. Is it still a sig item even if you don't put it in all of the caches that you visit? The only reason that I ask is that like the evil rooster, I too bind books and have been planning on leaving a small hand bound sketch book in every tenth cache that I find. Does that still constitute a signature item? If it does, I'd be happy to donate one to the cause. Plus they make good log books for newly placed caches. Mark S. Team Nottrikk
  9. Well, I'd love to help out, but I'm hitting people with swords that weekend. Shame really as it's just on my doorstep. If you need any help with prep before the event. I'll be happy to do anything I can. Mark Team Nottrikk
  10. Well, I've got an even 50 within 25 miles. 13 of which I've done. And I thought that they would be a bit sparse in the leicestershire area. Mark Team Nottrikk
  11. What about: If this car's a rockin', I've probably lost the GPS in the footwell. Or Cachers do it in all weathers Mark Team Nottrikk
  12. A bottle of dog it is then. (That's Newcastle brown ale for those not in the know.) Mark S. Team Nottrikk
  13. Cool, thanks for the info and getting back so very quickly. If we ever meet, I'll be sure to get you a beer Mark S. Team Nottrikk

    Site Problems

Hi all, I'm based in the U.K., not sure if that will have a bearing or not, but I'm having problems with uploading a pic for my profile and/or forum avatar. It foes appear to load onto the system, but when I look for it, the only place I can find it is on the page where you load more images. It doesn't appear on my profile preferences page. Tried logging out and back in and all of the regular things. Also, recently, I am having problems staying logged in on the site even when I request to stay logged in. It's definately not the cookie settings that I have on. I have no trouble whatsoever with other sites that I have requested to stay logged into. This is only something that has started happening in the past couple of weeks. Anyone know if the problems are related or possibly what is causing them? Please bear in mind that I am fairly computer phobic. I broke out in a sweat just typing "cookie settings" Oh, and I am still on Windoze 98 (first version) if that has any bearing on it. Mark Team Nottrikk
  15. Yup, that's exactly the problem I have. Maybe we could start a support group. for those with no avatars. Mark Team Nottrikk
  16. It's good to know I'm not alone or won't be alone or whatever. Mark Team Nottrikk
  17. I'm having problems uploading an image for my profile. it seems that I've got one on the system, but it's not showing up. It's a JPG at less than 100K, so it should work by all accounts, I just can't get it to work as an avatar image or on my profile page. I upgraded my membership a little while ago and I've finally found a picture worthy of my profile and avatar. Help me pleeeeeease. Mark S. Team Nottrikk
  18. Well, I don't know anyone around here since I moved to a village near Loughborough in February. I thought it might be nice to go out searching for plastic tubs with others in the East Midlands. Now that the weather is getting a little warmer, I'm normally out fairly regularly. Not a hugely commited walker however. So no 5,5's Get in touch either through this message or e-mail me. Mark S. Team Nottrikk
  19. How come you get to go caching with TWO women and I get to go caching with Omally, Merman and the Motley Crew ???? You wouldn't say that if you had them in the back of the car going there and coming back! Normally out on my own these days though. That's a thought. Perhaps might be time to advertise for a caching partner Mark S. Team Nottrikk
  20. me too. I think we were one of the first couple of pics. two women in the frame, one blonde, the other brunette. We're no longer in the area now, so it would be nice to have a reminder of our first caching expedition. Mark Team Nottrikk
  21. Well, Mine came out as Kink trot. No comment. Mark Team nottrikk
  22. Best things out of a cache? Well, here goes. Lyme boss challenge, I found a locking caribener (I just know that's the wrong spelling) and it now takes pride of place keeping my GPSr from coming off my goody bag. Mark S. Team Nottrikk
  23. Best things out of a cache? Well, here goes. Lyme boss challenge, I found a caribener (I just know that's the wrong spelling) and it now takes pride of place keeping my GPSr from coming off my goody bag. Mark S. Team Nottrikk
  24. Best things out of a cache. Bottle opener from Waterpark walkabout (that little opener's seen more use since I got it than it's probably seen in it's whole life!) Caribener (I just know that's spelt wrong) from Lyme Boss Challenge (it's a full size locking one and it now keeps my GPSr firmly attached to my goody bag via the lanyard. And I'm sure that the 2004 diary that I got from Above the mine will come in handy next year. Mark S. Team Nottrikk
