  2. quote:Originally posted by PekkaR:MapQuest map is in bigger scale, but Garmin map don't get better by zooming in. Try the City Navigator Europe maps from Garmin. They are the most detailed. Clearly the map viewer Garmin has on their website is inferior to MapQuest's, but that may have something to do with the fact that Garmin is just pitching a sale for their CD-ROM products
  3. quote:Originally posted by ArktiS:This should come as no big surprise as Garmin's Map Source City Navigator Europe v5 http://www.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/citynavEuro.jsp explicitly states 'Limited Coverage' in Finland except for the cities of Helsinki, Tampere. Virtual Regards from ArktiS I was indeed talking about areas Garmin claims to have detailed maps of. The area is bigger than Helsinki and Tampere, however. It's not like Garmin is going to list every small town in Finland on their promotional material. It may be that more attention has been paid to maps of larger cities. 4. MapQuest seems to use the same map supplier (NavTech) as Garmin does for their MapSource products. Garmin's MapSource map viewer here gives you a good idea of the current detailed coverage. Garmin's StreetPilot III is a remarkable tool, by the way. The accuracy of the driving directions the device provides when using detailed maps is astounding! Seemed to be better in Germany than in Finland, however, or maybe it's just a case of having local knowledge here in Finland...
