  1. The size of the community rises and quite often we see newbies hiding caches after they found a handful caches or crazy guys being used to hide caches which are compliant to the GC rules but completely non-compliant to common sense. My ignore list of caches is about to blow up and I'd really like a "User Ignore List" where I can just squelch the entire crap coming from particular cachers by a single "click'n'squelch". I'd accept the fact that I would miss the moment when such stupid person would change mind and start hiding something reasonable. At the moment is miss the good caches coming because 1 out of 20 publish notifications is worth going for it. The other 19 come from silly guys putting film canisters somewhere and call it a "great idea". Unfortunately the cache reviewers aren't entitled to reject stupid stuff as long as it is compliant to the rules.
  2. Setting up a server farm that is able to deal with the guys who log-on after a nice sunny Geocaching Sunday... how hard can it be?
  3. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=292811 just as a special way to deal with those impatient geocachers...
  4. "Normally" means "as expected"... if we expect too much - our fault...
  5. Is there a special offer for a "weekdays premium membership"? I'm a 24/7 premium member but I can't use the website on weekends due to server overload. So I'd like to purchase a "weekedays premium membership". As an alternative I would accept a server architecture upgrade which enables the server for weekend usage.
  6. thanks for the quick reply...! I would expect this either to be fixed or at least have a small note about the bug on the website where entering the code.
  7. I received several messages that the completion code I provide from my cartridges does not work to unlock the cartridge on-line. I just tried it myself, indeed I got a message "wrong code". The corresponding GWS file did unlock the cartridge without problems. Is there a bug with the completion code handling?
  8. Has anyone ever managed to upload a URWIGO created GWZ to the Wherigo website and to download it again without getting an error??? I had a quick look at the "_cartridge.lua" inside the URWIGO created GWZ - it has definite syntax differences compared to a lua created by the Wherigo Builder. I would expect the Wherigo Builder should be able to read the "_cartridge.lua" created by URWIGO but it stops with syntax error messages as well. If I upload my URWIGO GWZ and try to download it again I get something like this: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.ApplicationException: Exception of type 'System.ApplicationException' was thrown. at Groundspeak.Wherigo.ZonesEngine.ZonesEngineDll.LuaDoFile(String filename) at Groundspeak.Wherigo.ZonesLinker.ZonesLinker.CreateZonesFile(String luaFilename, String binaryFilename, String cartridgeId, String playerName, Int64 playerId, String completionCode, DeviceType targetDevice, EngineVersion engineVersion, Boolean bObfuscate) at Groundspeak.Wherigo.ZonesLinker.ZonesLinker.CreateZonesFile(String luaFilename, String binaryFilename, String cartridgeId, String playerName, Int64 playerId, String completionCode, DeviceType targetDevice, EngineVersion engineVersion) at Wherigo.CartridgeService.ExtractCompileCartridgeWithMetaData(GWZMetaData gwzMetaData, String gwzFilename, String cartridgeId, Int64 playerId, String playerName, DeviceType deviceType, String completionCode, String binaryFilename) at Wherigo.CartridgeService.GetCompiledCartridgeWithMetaData(GWZMetaData gwzMetaData, String CartridgeFileName, String CartridgeId, Int64 PlayerId, String PlayerName, DeviceType deviceType, String CompletionCode) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) at Wherigo.GSPCartridgeService.CartridgeService.GetCompiledCartridgeWithMetaData(GWZMetaData gwzMetaData, String CartridgeFileName, String CartridgeId, Int64 PlayerId, String PlayerName, DeviceType deviceType, String CompletionCode) at cartridge_download.btnDownload_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)

  11. Indeed, I'm using Firefox. I've tried this extension, that's great stuff. Thanks for the idea...!!!
  12. I didn't want to sound impatient. If my idea was noticed it's fine, if it will be implemented I'll be happy. I thought there might be something like a bugtracker where feature ideas can be posted as well. Obviously the forum is the right place to do it... that's OK with me.
  13. OK, I see I'm not alone with my idea... TinyMCE is a nice example of what I meant. What's to be done to make Groundspeak to integrate it?
  14. I haven't found that this was discussed here in detail yet. When editing a cache description I use NVU to create the HTML code. That's acceptable to me but I'm often asked by other cachers why there is no WYSIWYG editor integrated. That's indeed a good question as here in the forum there is one. Are there any plans to integrate a WYSIWYG editor into the cache description editing page?
  15. Thanks for your posts... I'm not a classic "coin collector" and I'll probably never become one. The idea of having trade only XLE versions was to get some LE or XLE versions of other "true personal" coins. Meanwhile the market is full of nice coins, made by professional coin designers, dedicated to almost everything interesting in the world. However - true personal coins dedicated to and designed by a particular geocacher are still quite rare and having an XLE or LE of such coin as well as get to know the "design owner" would be a pleasure to me.
  16. Lapu-Lapu Personal Geocoin... ... out now and to be purchased at geocoinshop.de Versions: Antique Gold Antique Silber TwoTone Antique Gold/Silber Black Nickel (LE, 75x) Antique Copper (XLE 15x, trade only) Two Tone Antique Copper/Nickel (XLE 10x, trade only) I hope you'll like it...
  17. That's an interesting issue as my trouble started as well while waiting for my "All Finds" PQ...
  18. My account was "not validated" because I've changed my email address to another provider. My old provider has obviously blacklisted the gc.com mailserver and deleted all incoming emails without further notice (even without an active spamfilter on my particular account). Freemail accounts are sometimes a pain in the a... I'm now using a email and domain on my own webserver, I guess that's the better way... Thanks for your assistance!
  19. I'm not receiving emails fom gc.com anymore... no PQ, no owner or bookmark notifications... nothing at all. I checked my email system... everything works fine. No Spam filter active at the moment. Does anyone else experience the same problem?
