  1. Do NOT go to loki.com as suggested by JJnTJ ... it takes you through about five pages of spam sites. I am APPALLED that geocaching.com has any type of association with a spam site like loki.com but, apparantly they do. Why isn't geocaching.com jumping in here on their thread and defending something that they are advertising on their front page? I'm just flabbergasted. Shame on you Groundspeak! Oh ... and why am I being redirected to something called Skyhook Wireless? Are you, or Skyhook, trying to steal my identity? I'd like feedback from any others that go to loki.com (as JJnTJ suggested) and get the Skyhook info. Shouldn't I just get a simple "This is where you are" via Groundspeak without having to go through another site (this mysterious Loki) and being redirected to several advertising sites?
  2. According to the "Find Me With Loki" button, I'm at N 32° 48.180 W 080° 05.193 which is in NC. Yes, I passed through NC from SC but, I also then went through TN and am sitting right now in KY! Same question ... how does Loki work and, what am I missing here in being located? I'm on a Verizon aircard so, Verizon knows EXACTLY where I am! Why cant Loki find me?
  3. That's exactly what I see. I think the script is broken.
  4. OK ... seems like it is not working for those that posted here. Any heads up from peeps for which the button is working?
  5. OK, 56 views and no replies! LOL ... but ... Is the "Locate Me With Loki" button working for everyone else but me and no-one is telling? I just want to know if it is working, or how to get it to work.
  6. This button on the front page of geocaching.com has never worked for me. Am I supposed to download a pluin or program from somewhere to get it to work? My laptop has wireless capability built in.
  7. OK, I know it's probably obvious but, I've not yet found a thread that specifically deals with geocahers that are fulltimers ... on the road 365 days a year! What is the approach that other RVers take toward moving from one place to another and keeping up with geocaches? Anyone get a FTF when rolling into a new town?
  8. THANKS OpinoNate! It's nice to know that some of our "off-the-wall" questions get noticed and logged. I, personally, would really look forward to such a feature and I'm sure that other geocachers would too. I know this is not the correct thread for "suggestions" but, hey, it just came up in this thread ... oops ... that I started! As for "taxing" the system (as per AZcachemeister) I'll leave that up to you folks/experts at geocaching.com
  9. This is my first time posting (hope I'm doing it right). I had geocaches on Google Earth & now they are gone. The first time they left then one day they were back. Now theye are gone again. Any Einstein types out there that can help??? Thanks Zeker That is a different matter from my original question. I was talking about loading multipke TB and geocoin tracks into Google Earth. I have not had an answer to that question yet. However, if you want to see just regular caches in your, or a selected, area you need to download the Geocache Google Earth Viewer which you can find listed on the right hand side of your profile page.
  10. I can't seem to find where I can load "tracking" of TBs and geocoins into Google Earth in "batch" mode from my profile on geocaching.com. I can load each one individually to show their progress throughout the world but, is there a way to select all my trackables and upload them to Google Earth at one time so that I can watch them? Is there a way to do this ... and also keep it automated? That would be ideal!
  11. Working fine now ... must have been a "clog" in the internet conduits!
  12. Anyone having trouble with their statbars from these guys? I can't seem to be able to access their website either.
  13. What's the problem? As long as you have a 2GB card in your Colorado, you can download City Navigator for US, Puerto Rico, Canada ... and Alaska (yup I know it's US) to the Colorado ... just in one download! There should be no problem in downloading the whole City Navigator maps just in one download. You don't have to pick areas or states.
  14. So ... when creating a cache page with text ... the white background color code is ... what? What is the code for the white backround? Not quite sure what you mean about the olive ... is that the surround around the cache page where you can upload a background image? I just need a color code for the color of the backround to the Verbana text ... so that any text I write on the cache page just blends in with the background. Yup ... hidden text!
  15. When creating a cache page, I know the font is Verdana, with a font color of 424242 Does anyone know what the color of the background to a cache page is? Is it just white? If so, what is the color number? Is it off-white? If so, what is the color number? Is it another off-white or creamy color? If so, what is the color number? Just interested!
  16. The big file had 1695 caches in it. Anyway ... it's all fixed now. I downloaded and installed the Colorado 2.95 beta software and I have no problems now.
  17. That link leads to 2.94 beta ... I don't find any reference to a 2.95 beta. I've still got the page up in my browser, it lists 2.95Beta for me. Here's the direct link to the update from that page. Try that, let me know if you get it. That link works - care to start a new thread about this release with the update details?? The new link worked for me ... but can't locate it on the internet so that I know what updates and release notes they made.
  18. They just released a 2.95Beta which they claim fixes the issues with 2.94Beta. That link leads to 2.94 beta ... I don't find any reference to a 2.95 beta.
  19. Here's what I discovered this morning while I was trying to load one cache to both my Colorado 400t and GPSmap 60CSx using Garmin Communicator ... The cache loaded just fine to the 60CSx and showed up in the existing cache listing on that device. When I then tried to download to the 400t, Garmin Garmin Communicator said it downloaded successfully, but it did not show up on the device either under geocaches, waypoints, or POIs. When I looked at the folder system on the 400t, I saw that it had the following in the subfolder "GPX" under the primary folder "Garmin": 1) geocaches.gpx (an 11,844 KB GSAK file I'd downloaded a few days ago and works successfully, with a file date of 07/16/09) 2) GCTWPH.gpx (an 8 KB file for the cache I had just downloaded, with a file date of today) Also within the "GPX" folder was another subfolder called "Current": This contained a 56 KB file called Current.gpx. Not quite sure where that came from but, from the file date, it was apparantly created this morning. Why isn't the cache I downloaded with Garmin Communicator from the cache page showing up on my 400t while it does show up on my 60CSx?
  20. I have a question ... why don't Groundspeak and GSAK (Clyde) and pilotsnipes and jjreds just get together and create the final application? All the info is there! I'm sure it's NOT a copright question ... all the info is open source. What say you guys? p.s I's like to say that I have a profound respect of Groundspeak for trying to adapt ... and they have a lot of work to do ... but I also have a profounder respect for people like Clyde, pilotsnipes, and jjreds for actually creating these programs that work with the geocacing.com site! Kudos to you all!
  21. THANKS Cache O'Plenty! That helps me a lot!
  22. So .... do I just take the GPX file and download it into the Nuvi 350 (bypassing the POI Loader) and it will automatically go into the Favorites folder?
  23. Sorry for the multiple posts .... laptop was having hiccups!
  24. I'm having the same problem/need on my Nuvi 350 and would love to see this function ... especially when downloading POIs for Caches Along A Route and driving along my route. It would be GREAT to visually see what might be coming up ahead (I have Cache Along A Route set to 0.5 mile either side of road) so that I can then set Tour Guide alerts to 100 feet instead of 500 feet (which can get annoying on long trips). Is this available?
